I fitted a Kriega US-20 bag to the bike. I don’t like tank bags (a personal thing) but I do want to be able to carry a little more than what fits in my pockets. The US-20 works just fine. Now I’m planning to remove the Yamaha GPS mount and replace it with a RAM mount. As soon as it stops raining over here I’ll measure the size of the steering bar to see what RAM mount would fit in the middel of the bar. I think the RAM-B-408-112-15U might fit but hey......measure twice, order once.

I for one liked it. But for me it would be a bike next to my Tracer (if I could afford it....). What amazed me was the way the seat could be raised. It took 2 people from the dealer to get it in the upper position and stay there. The first guy put it in the upper position and when I sat on it it collapsed (and i’m around 82kg, so not too heavy). The second guy was trying for about 5 minutes before they finally got it right. Maybe it was more because of the lack of experience they had but it wasn’t as easy as raising the seat of the Tracer. I did really love the way the Tiger turns. Twisty roads, roundabouts....all very easy. And I got the feeling I was “inside” the bike. When I drove home on my Tracer it felt like I was on top of the bike. A really strange experience. Starting the bike can be done instantly, however it does take quite long before the screen/board computer are available. The sales guy did warn me about it but it surprised me anyway. I am a bit worried though that the vibration (like I said, it behaved like a big twin engine) will be a bit annoying during long rides. All in all, a very nice bike. With the Rally Pro being very soft in the suspension department. I’m going to try the GT Pro some other time. Maybe it will change my mind....

A bit off-topic. There's no Triumph motor in my past but I did ride a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro last Wednesday. I came for a ride on a 900 GT Pro but that wasn't available. Long story short: nice bike, easy to steer, very soft suspension (rally Pro is softer than GT pro) but a typical 2 cylinder and not a replacement for my Tracer.

I had my seat adjusted today. Did it with the previous Tracer 900 GT and decided to do it again with the new one. I had two things adjusted: flatten the curve of my seat and had it filled with gel. The first picture is after the foam for the seat was placed. They then created a place to add the gel and filled it with medical grade gel. They covered it all with a thin layer of foam and placed the original seat cover back. The good thing is it "only" cost me around 250 euro. Much less though than a Bagster seat.

I do not think that the accuracy of the marks is any better than the accuracy of the bolts. In fact, I think it gets more inaccurate when you use the marks only as it's very dependable on your eye/mark coordination. Personally I always use a measuring tool to measure both sides.

I had the stock seat of my first Tracer adjusted by a specialised company in Amsterdam. Cost me much less then a replacement seat of any other brand. I had it filled with a special gel (used in medical beds) and I also had it straightened a little bit as I kept slowly sliding forward over some sensitive body parts (pardon my French). I can recommend this to any one. In fact, I am going to have my second Tracer's seat adjusted tomorrow.

Hm, Yamaha must have changed something when comparing the FJ and the 900GT then. My speedometer doesn't seem to be very accurate when compared to the GPS. The higher the speed the bigger the difference. It is up to 10 kilometers slower than my GPS shows. Well, it keeps me safe from too many speeding tickets I guess...

The previous 900 GT I owned came on the D222. The one I own now has Michelin Pilot 5 (part of the deal when I bought it). The dealer said the difference would mainly be psychological. But I can tell you it is definitely more the psychological. The Michelin's offer more grip, especially when they're cold or when I'm riding in wet conditions.

I would love to have a few, if I had the space and the money... Tracer 900 GT for fun rides, every day use and riding on twisty roads R1250 GS for long trips / vacations (although in the mountains a Tracer might turn out to be more fun) A well powered naked bike as a stress reliever (I'm not a racer but a track-day every now and then would be nice)

So I gave the dealer a visit. While the mechanic was working on my bike I checked two new Tracer GT in the showroom to see how much lateral movement the throttle grip had on those bikes. They basically had the same as mine. The mechanic then called my into the workshop and showed me there really wasn’t much he could do about it. He showed the open handlebar and indeed, there was nothing to do besides putting another ring on the handle bar, but with the risk the throttle would stay open when you let it go. That’s not something I want to risk. It seems like all (new) Tracers have this, so I’ll learn to live/ride with it. I guess my first bike was just an exception (be it a welcome one though).

I think you will be just fine. It's more about you being able to control yourself than you controlling the bike. The Tracer had a very nice engine and if you feel the throttle is too aggressive ( which I doubt), you can put it in standard or B-mode. I don't think you will regret this. As long as you don't drive like an idiot, but that goes for all bikes.

The sport screen plus clip-on didn't do it for me. The touring screen with clip-on are just right. So my advice is to go for that given you're about the same height. I am very curious to what the 24" Madstad will be like.

I received my mirror extenders. 2 minute job to install, works good. Also made an appointment with the company that will adjust my seat. Looking forward...

Good idea. I checked it just now, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to belong there. That last remark could indeed be the case. But I always get a bit nervous when bits/parts are just coming off (or seem to do so).
