  1. Got it today! The base part is 16kg's (about 36 lbs) and the kickstand attachment is another 4kg/9lb. 1/4” thick steel to the wheels and under the tray, and the tray itself is 1/8" steel. So, 3/8ths of steel that needs to bend to be a problem. Not gonna happen. It could hold a car. It's insanely overengineered. It's a bit higher off the ground, but not much - about 3mm ground clearance, or an 8th of an inch for the Americans in the group - bringing the total "top of tray" height (where the centerstand will sit) to 1/2" off the ground. Really not a problem at all. I seriously can't believe that this was $38CDN. I'm seriously thinking of ordering another on and bolting a tire chock to it for the front wheel.
  2. I've wanted a decal kit for that for as long as I've owned the bike.... And my MT07 before it.
  3. Yeah, that new super light Arai lid matches it perfectly. Sadly, that helmet also has an annoying catch that locks the visor down and is really fiddly to work with gloves on. I'm a visor open at every stop kind of guy, so that's a no go for me Too bad, too, cuz it looks like an incredible helmet. I didn't really like the colorway initially, but after i wrapped those white lower fairings in black I decided I really liked the gray. I half wrapped the gray in a really nifty blue, only to realize part way through that I actually preferred the more subtle, understated gray. Oh! Distracted. Yeah, the pegs. I was annoyed with them and tossed them in the trash, so I'm kind of past trying new ways to secure them. I'm a 300lb 6'4" guy, and I just don't they they'd ever have held securely enough for me with that weird clasp. I've resigned myself to shelling out for something a little better made sometime in the future.
  4. Yup, it's intake air temp. This is to differentiate it from coolant temp. Edit: The selectable data you can display (you can customize these by the way, in the menu) includes A. Temp and C. Temp. These are Air Temperature (corresponding to the "In" intake temp) and Coolant Temperature. As A Temp always equals the In Temp that's always visible, I dunno why you'd every bother having it be one of the two bits of info to show.
  5. I tried those cheap footpegs people have liked already on my givi crash bars, but I found even when I have them "tight" after building up the bar with inner tube rubber, they still rotate on me when I hit a bump or something. Felt it was somewhat of a safety hazard, and when I fell off one of them while hitting a pothole (it rotated about 45 degrees) I pulled them off the bike. Going forward, I'd still like a set, but I want 100% rock solid mounting first. Need something better.
  6. This is my approach too. I only use one MC jacket at a time - sometimes with seasonal changes, but one consistently - so keeping that stuff in my jacket is a lot more practical than stashing it on the bike. With that said, there's a handy little tray under the seat.
  7. Nice! Wanna post some pics of the brackets too? Looks like some good work!
  8. There's a vendor that sells these kits for the older models (Google fj09 vinyl decal kit) but I haven't seen one for the Tracer yet.
  9. Yeah, for Canadians you've basically got Fortnine, and sometimes a good deal on TwistedThrottle. Shipping from the US is prohibitively expensive for most things - it's usually cheaper to order from the UK but they're fully locked down right now and most even online stores are closed.
  10. Lots of reviews on the listing from people using it exactly like that, though - as a center stand dolly. Even with pics of that exactly. Weight is fine, its intended for the rear tire and rated for 1100lbs, and is low enough to roll up onto it easy.

  12. Princessauto.com - currently free shipping too (in Canada, of course). They're actually meant for the rear tire and have an attachment for your kickstand to get the same effect for a kickstand only bike, but people just pull that off for centerstand bikes.
  13. And once again, I learn of an awesome product as an aside in one of your photos. Just ordered myself one of those centerstand dollies - that's brilliant, and for $30 I couldn't resist.
  14. I ordered it from the UK directly from their site. I'm not aware of a local reseller.
  15. Hurricane=cyclone=typhoon, huge, powerful storms, visible from space. Tornadoes are highly localized events - one can tear through a town and destroy a narrow swaft, utterly destroying one house and leaving it's neighbors alone. Look up aerial views of tornado damage. It's like Godzilla trampled through a town.
  16. I want one. Preferably a free one though, as a towel works fine, but it'd be a nice thing to have.
  17. I'm 300km into my oiler now, and it's marvelous. My chain looks *great*, always clean and well lubed. Normally, it'd look great after cleaning and lubing, but after rises through water and such it'd start drying out really quickly, and I'd basically have to decide how bad I was going to let it get before cleaning and lubing it again. Hell, Yamaha recommends redoing it *every time* you ride through water or in the rain. An oiler does that, keeping it freshly oiled all the time.
  18. A sound check here, with one of the shorter (and thus louder) cans:
  19. Was this custom, or is it a decal kit? Looks cool.
  20. If I was going to swap out the exhaust on mine (I'm not - it's a crazy expensive process for a cosmetic change) I'd go with a Black Widow full system. FJ09 / FZ09 unknown - they're reasonably priced, great quality, solid company. Even buying from North America shipping was inexpensive and fast, and the customer service was great. Had one on my MT07 (the 230mm GP style carbon fiber with blued tip). I'd definitely go with a larger can, though, as the little 230mm GP style was loud. Looked awesome though (ignore the cheesecake), and sounded great.
  21. Ah so they're to avoid mud packing up between fender and wheel! Right, gotcha. But yeah, for sure: even if they have bad taste, the magic of motorcycles is there's something for everyone And as much as I find beaks silly, they're waaaay less so than a lot of what people do to their rides. To each their own!
  22. Baby duckies Do they have an actual function, or are they just a cosmetic thing? I can't say I've had a lot of issues with spray up the front of my bike before, but I also don't ride offroad much at all. I genuinely don't understand beaks at all, and just go with the "those people have strange taste" angle.
  23. Welcome to the forum! Mind if I ask which cameras you're getting, and where exactly they're being installed?
  24. The Livewire is a neat machine, and feels pretty cool to rev up, but it's insanely expensive for such a limited ride. I can see current gen ebikes as fun in-town commuter machines, but as @betoney quotes, the range anxiety issue is just too big a damper. Interestingly, I don't feel this is nearly as much a concern with electric cars, as for the vast majority of people their cars rarely see long distance drives, and if you've a family, you've probably got two cars anyways so one electric one gas makes sense. But a bike? Even as a guy who commutes nearly exclusively on my bike, I couldn't accept that range limitation. For normal bike people, the bike is a fun escape. Being so limited in range would ruin that, and lets be real here: Who wants to spend Livewire money on a bike you can basically only ride in town? That said... The new Zero looks amazing, and I bet it's tons of fun. I'd still love to have one, but only as an "n+1" bike, not my only ride.
