  1. I think the dash is kind of important for me. Chose the GT because of that and other features, but that was one that I knew I wanted. Not to break from the thread, but the 2021 model dash turns me off. Would have to see it in person, but first impression is uh-uh.
  2. The new Ducati isn't just a simple cut-out. Darn.
  3. I did that too. It helped some, I think, but I want to know if it could be better.
  4. I want to cut a vent hole in the OEM screen to see if I can improve it. That might lead me to cut one in the Puig that I use, but my question is what shape? The way Calsci makes most of his is a kind of like a flattened "V" shape. The one on the new Ducati multistrada is more like a simple upside down curve. I've often thought that the older multistradas resembled the Tracer in that they basically share the one hand adjuster, and the shape of them are similar also. Now I realize this new V4 multi is in it's own category. And I know that Calsci has multiple degrees in physics, etc.
  5. Few days left for the killer deal on YCRS! Anyway, I'm such a noob at the track stuff. I know there are some types of gear you're supposed to wear under the leathers, but I don't have ANY of it. What do you recommend?
  6. Whistler - Any rationale for the names of your bikes? Or just kind of pick one that sounds right? Very fun
  7. Inside the second side panel area (as you’re removing pieces). I actually drilled a small hole in the back of the black plastic piece for that wire to go through. Then pigtails. The right side has a lot less slack than the left side, so less room for error. It all tucked away nicely though once all the connections were made. I believe the blue wires are the running light wires. Lots of little pins and screws so if you’ll have it apart for a while I suggest to take some pics. I actually have the original 3 pin connector going to those hand guards and made new connectors for the turn signals, otherwise you probably wouldn’t need to drill a hole, but it’s all hidden anyway.
  8. I signed up! YCRS Feb. 18-19 at the INDE Ranch! The code given out actually added another %10 off everything, so BIG THANK YOU to com3. The main page doesn't list it, but they have Tracers you can rent, so I signed up for that, but Nick told me I could switch around to other bikes. They don't have any GTs, but that's ok at least I'll have almost the same experience as if I brought mine. So anyway, if any of you guys happen to be heading out to this class, let me know.
  9. I think this is what you were asking for.
  10. Thanks, there is no white, it’s just the light. It’s the OEM silver on the 2019 GT, and then some blue raspberry 3M vinyl. Coming up with the design was a process for sure. But a thumbs up from betoney is worthy of a screenshot. Haha. Here’s the mostly finished product. I’m pretty happy with it. The pumpkins are gone for good, and the ones I used I think suit the bike well. Then the custom handguard lights are the icing on the cake at least for me.
  11. Well I got the heater out and went to work. I got the left front done and it works. Right now running lights are white, turn signals amber. Could be changed to all amber but going with that for now. I think I like it.
  12. Pretty sure these are the ones I have except they have white and amber.. They are very bright, but IMO not very attractive if just stuck on the outside.
  13. I made a template on the back according to the most length I could get and what seemed like it would let enough light through. Experimented with more smaller holes and ended up going with 9, 1/4" holes. (It's a $30 part if you mess up) Then filled the holes with clear JB Weld to make a "lense" effect. I'm not sure I'll get to wiring it all up until it's a little warmer, but will certainly update when I do. I'm kind of excited. I think it's going to be pretty cool. What I need to determine now is how to wire the new turn signals that are replacing the old. They only have two wires. So I'm guessing I have to choose between having them be only turn signals or only driving lights. But maybe those two wires can be tied together and not short something out. Does anyone know how the driving light and turn signal wiring works? I assume there needs to be the third wire so that the blinker function can operate properly.
  14. so I’m making these into LED lights on my hand guard covers. I have a small strip that has yellow and white. I’m not concerned with legalities really, but i could wire it so that white is running lights and still have yellow as the signal, or I could keep it all yellow. Just looking for opinions on why one might be better than another.
  15. New Zealand Police Purchase Yamaha MT-09s - Adventure Rider Yamaha Motor New Zealand has won a contract to furnish at...
  16. Tinkering with vinyl wrap. It sucks. Tried to do some of the cowl sections...phew! I don't think it's happening.
  17. Made it there this summer. It was very good, but a good 3 hours or more from home.
  18. That's the idea, I think. Fly and ride. I'll post here what I decide and maybe someone will want to join me! I wonder if Hannah Lopa will be coming back
  19. I'm obviously on a Tracer, but I don't think I'll bring my bike out to wherever, so what should I rent? They have the MT-09, and wondering if that would be most suitable since it's the same engine. Kind of eyeing the R6 though... This is of course for the YCRS. California school I think offers BMW 1000. I don't think Total Control offers rental.
  20. Indiana...I realize any of these will be a bit of a trip. YCRS is the one I was leaning toward.
  21. OK, I had a great season on the Tracer. But I want to get better, and be able to navigate with more confidence in the twisties when I get there (some of you know I don't really have them where I live), and maybe go to a few track days. So I'm considering a few of the typical schools. I'm wondering if any of you have had experiences with these types of programs and could recommend. I'm considering: Total Control with Lee Parks, Yamaha Champions Riding School with Nick Ienatsch, and good old California Superbike. Look forward to your thoughts.
  22. Can you post a link to the relay that you bought from Amazon please?
