  1. I think I might be with you but I'll take a blue one
  2. This will be very interesting. I must say I'm intrigued.
  3. So I've had another run in with my local shop. I'll spare your the horror story but they don't understand the difference between 12mm and 40mm even when I explicitly mention what the spec is supposed to be. Here's my more relevant question. Did they possibly even do a poor job with the chain itself? It seems like where they made the connection the link is bound up.
  4. There we go! Cruise is back. It was the sensor. Kind of wish you could just adjust the brake lever without hassling with that, but it's not a huge price to pay for a good cruise control. Thanks everyone!
  5. Needed a proper cleaning anyway and heat index over 100 so needs to come off.
  6. I realize it's far from scientific but the vertical slots at the top corners have taken away the slight buffeting I was getting at the sides of my helmet. Aerodynamics are complicated but very cool. And I did notice the shapes of the other vents were more than holes. But like you I'm working with what I have.
  7. I know you all think I'm crazy for putting vent holes in my puig screen. I'm basing that on zero response good or bad to my previous posts on it. However I think I've improved the performance and have cleaner air. I'll just point out that the versys 1000 is doing it on the stock screen and so is Ducati on the new multi. Because of the shape of the puig I had to make two vertical vents at the top corners. That's what ended up making the most difference for me.
  8. So that didn't do anything. I did adjust the rear brake lever lately. Do I also need to adjust some kind of sensor when I do that? The rear brake light is not on unless I press the brakes.
  9. I hear the two clicks on the clutch. Cleaned the gear indicator. Have to wait till I get home to see if that makes any difference.
  10. I seem to remember a post or two about people having issues with the cc but I did a search and can't find any. Something happened to mine. Worked fine until today. Checked to see if the brakes were stuck and that's not it. The cruise light switches on but won't activate when I try to set it. I've had the brake switch recall done already also. Anything else simple to try? Or am I looking at a trip to the dealer?
  11. 1500 miles in Wisconsin twisties and going hard (90-100) on straight country roads (which aren’t many) and 70-80 on the highway. I averaged 48.5
  12. Those of us who are having vibration, has anyone gotten a new chain and noticed improvement? I’ve taken really good care of mine, but since it was a hold over, I’m wondering if that was one of those things that got affected while sitting.
  13. Are we in the territory of a possible recall? There are too many people describing almost the same type of thing. Possibly a batch of 19's that got a bad part? The 19 GT manual says 35-45mm which I believe is correct. So what would you be possibly sacrificing with the different sprocket? The factory chose the damped version why? And is a non damped sprocket plug and play?
  14. I tried a Cal Sci shorty and it was terrible. The only place your head didn't get ripped off was right in the middle. Even turning to look slightly one way was torture.
  15. Let the experimenting begin. No discernable difference at 70-80 which is where I think the improvement could be. I tried to model my cut after what appears to be on the new v4 multistrada. The little bit of air that passes through seemed to go pretty much down. Any engineers out there have any ideas?
  16. Remember to have a little static sag

  18. Sync will help some, but I think I have the same issue. You can look for a "paranoia or normal" thread that explains more. My vibes are around 4500. Not terrible, but again noticeable. I also think other Tracers I've ridden run/feel better. I'll be following to see what you come up with.
  19. Is there only the one option "boosterplug.com"? $160
  20. APS (accelerator position sensor) TPS (throttle position sensor) Older models could access it without any outside equipment. After 2017, you need Yamaha scanner and tools, etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But maybe the booster plug is an option. I've seen people on here who are pleased with it. I would think it was cheaper the way they talk. $160 isn't that much less than the flash. Vcyclenut is only $200 for a flash. For some reason the it messes with the ambient temperature because of the plug it uses. Not a big deal. I'll have to do a little more research into the booster stuff. I hope you are happy with the bike now after new engine and all. What a nightmare. I can't imagine.
