  1. Well my uncle passed away Friday morning so the experimenting has been limited. I’ll throw this one out there. You know how there might be a smell when you’ve just lubed the chain and it’s getting cooked on the engine for the first few times? Could a change in lube product completely change that smell? I don’t think that’s it bc I would think it would go away after a few rides and especially since I switched to the drier maxima chain wax.
  2. What I would call cyl 3 was off by 5 clicks on the meter I was using. Other one (in this case #1) wasn’t too bad. So I’m thinking I’ll run a fuel injector cleaner and then the Ring Free then do the oil. Sorry it’s been a while to answer. I have an uncle 1.5 hours from home that I’ve been going to see. He’s now in hospice as of yesterday.
  3. Was running great. I’ll look into the bolts.
  4. Not really what I want to do at this point. Did the sync yesterday.
  5. Like a sea foam? What's ring free?thanks
  6. It was a left over but I don’t think they would have let it sit with fuel. I did not let it sit with bad fuel this off season. But why would it need to necessarily be plugged up to be “broken”. Could it be letting too much fuel and that be the cause of the smell? I agree though. The repair and getting warranty to cover is going to be tricky for sure.
  7. So Ivan really went through some things as best he could over the phone. If there aren't any bad sensors, and because one of my plugs had a brown color and the other two did not, he thinks there could be a bad fuel injector. Of course it would be a bit of a job to figure that out, and I did purchase the extended warranty which will be tricky apparently. The bad injector would probably explain the smell and the rougher ride. The throttle bodies were not in sync. What I'd call 1&2 were good, but 3 was not very close. I'll report back when I have a chance to ride it. I'm sure you're on the edge of your seat. haha
  8. Anyone have a part number for these little guys? Not showing in service manual. Standing here in local shop and they can't find them either. They don't have them and have no answers. What is a good replacement? One has a small crack.
  9. Is it normal to have the middle cylinder the one with the white painted screw? The videos I've watched were all one side or the other.
  10. How about this? One of the throttle body vacuum clamps.
  11. Is this kind of oily residue in the air box normal?
  12. I will start with a sync. I suppose a not so prefect spark plug could also be possible? Might as well check while I'm in there.
  13. Everything else is stock. Smell is basically at any stop since the breeze can't move it away as much I guess. It was definitely a result of the flash. No other changes made. I did call him once and discussed the smell at least. He claimed no one else had complained. However someone in another thread said they had it. I have not synced throttle bodies. I will research but wanting to see if I'm just being paranoid about the roughness. I'm not imagining the smell.
  14. Could the Ivan ecu flash have already caused a rough engine? Initially I thought everything was smoother. Smooth to the point that I figured the speedo was completely jacked up somehow. The smell does bother me. Not necessarily the smell itself but it gives me that feeling that something isn't right. I don't know how to describe it but it's a cross between an electrical and gas but kind of foul. Some have mentioned that it's a signal that it's running rich from the flash. I emailed 2WDW about whether their flash causes that type of smell. Response below. No, with the stock exhaust in place our custom mapping does not cause an overly rich "fuel" smell from the exhaust system. Over time, that CAN result in the failure and clogging of the catalytic converter. However what has me even more concerned is that I think there is more engine vibration than before. I have probably only 500 miles on it since the flash. I hopped on fjray tracer the other day and I thought it was smoother and possibly even quicker than mine. (We were both in std). Went on the highway today and at 75 it's giving a good amount of vibration to the bars. I don't remember that to be the case. Any opinions? This is a 2019 GT with almost 7000 miles.
  15. I would also like to know how those cuts were made @deejay20005@gmail.
  16. Did the same thing this time last year with a 19 GT! You're going to love it.
  17. So I made the hole bigger, and then also spaced the top portion with the half inch spacers to give it a slightly more forward tilt. The result is less noise, and less buffeting however I think it’s still not good enough for long highway riding. It would make a nice track day screen though. I’m very tempted to make the vent on my Puig. I have other priorities at the moment.
  18. I’m jealous of almost everyone else on here, but you blue ridge people should have your own thread so we don’t have to hear about how good it is. 😛
  19. I changed the middle section to better match the other "graphics" that I made. And added the little stripe on the fender. I suppose I could have put this in what did you do today but...oh well.
  20. They were looking for people to "build" their own and sold out within a few days time. I also heard that one might be able to demo it at the road America moto America event coming soon. I think I'm going to try to get up there...not for the R7, but if there isn't a crazy line I might try it out.
  21. First attempt at the "cal-sci" vent on OEM windscreen. It is still more noisy than my puig but I could tell there was less turbulence than the non - vented OEM. I think I need to make it bigger all around. Like maybe a centimeter.
  22. I plan to experiment with mine soon by cutting a “cal-sci” vent in the middle of it.
  23. The official Yamaha YES website says $250 for Trip Benefit
  24. I know it’s possible to send back to Ivan to put it back to stock, but I assume I’m out the money too. If I found someone who wanted the flash, could we swap ecu’s and both run fine or is the ecu tagged somehow to my specific bike? I probably shouldn’t have delved into this arena of flashing without understanding enough about it.
