  1. I'd be buying the entire basket and whatever else is needed for replace/swap and button back up.
  2. The 3 letter agencies are not our friends or allies........we need to realize that more and more.
  3. I will NEVER ride/own a trike or in particular that abomination called the Spyder.......2 wheels only, or it's convertible time.
  4. Time for a sporty convertible, good wishes and farewell sir!!!
  5. Less is more for me, my Aerostich gear is light and my helmet is carbon fiber. Riding a motorcycle is a gamble no matter how well you are geared up, but the least amount of weight or restriction I have......the better.
  6. WP is the choice of KTM, my buddy has a great suspension on his 790 adventure.
  7. You are overthinking all of this IMHO......buy the bike that you want and be done with it. Getting an FJ or regular Tracer is a downgrade compared to the 19-current GT lines, but yes there are many happy owners here of the OG models as well.
  8. Isn't it also a CANBUS wiring system as well?
  9. +1 on a good bath/polish........can be immaculate under that grime, but the grime being gone tells it all.
  10. I would consider putting in B mode while riding many miles in the rain, otherwise it's mostly standard for me with the occasional A. And yeah the Tracer 700 is another gem with another perfect engine.
  11. Sorry to hear that my man, that is certainly a bad run of luck and you're dealing with it best you can......getting older aint for sissies. I hear about alot of serious cycling injuries both on and off pavement, IMHO it's much more dangerous than riding motorcycles.
  12. He just said a 19, so I assumed it was the 19GT and not the regular tracer. Yeah I wouldn't be making that deal were it me, the regular Tracer is missing alot more from the GT than just ride by wire CC. But big congrats to the OP and welcome back to the riding game, that's still a fabulous scoot just for the engine alone.
  13. I was 202, now I am at 175 "so I have lost 27 pounds".......52 years young and overall in the best shape I've been since a much younger man, Lifestyle changes can go a long way, in particular when doing it a bit at a time so the body adjusts naturally. My problem is the opposite of yours, my gear is hanging off me now. 😂
  14. Cruise control is for 55 and higher IMHO, and cruise control only working in 4th-6th most certainly isn't a deal breaker for the masses. Why would anyone want to modify/add to the factory ride by wire CC system?
  15. I am not a fan of the 21/22 Tracers, so I am more than happy/content with my 20.......save the extra money for gear and upgrades IMHO and get the 20. Plus.......my 20 is faster than my buddy's 22 and it also doesn't like to wheelie as well as mine either. 😂
  16. I paid like $135 for a rear and $117 for a front last Summer.......so climbing back up again I see. I have always considered what we must pay for all things motorcycles to be a "fun tax", but yeah the fun tax is getting ridiculous, can't buy much groceries for under $100 these days either. 🙄
  17. Thanks for another great write up, I reckon we don't always get what we pay for. I will continue to run the Dunlop Roadsmart III if the prices stay so cheap on those "fabulous tire by the way", otherwise I may just give these a whirl.
  18. It's a fine line between the right contact profile, and too much air makes for a harsher ride, less contact, abnormal wear, and not enough air can be ill handling, abnormal wear and more sidewall flex. I "typically" run 35 front and 38 rear, anything more than that IMHO and experience, I don't care for how it rides/handles. Not riding on the same side/lane of road makes a difference in wear as well, as the road crown is different on both sides. I get extremely even wear on my tires, and of course I try to ride plenty of twisty roads regularly as well. I do adjust per the temps outside like Dave suggests, and I have lost 22 pounds over the last year, so I weigh less now as well.
  19. Once you get used to the Aerostich pads, you forget they are there. A bit hard and non conforming when it's cool/cold out, but once body heat warmed up are good to go.
  20. Welcome to the forum, and your new Tracer is better in every way "IMHO" over the C14. I had an 08 that I bought new that same year, I kept it for 4 years but was my least favorite bike I ever owned for several reasons.
  21. Wife was an ER nurse for years, and for me the biggest plus for proper gear is against road rash.......wifey says you don't want that, and she saw some nightmare examples of such. Impact resistance is obviously nice, but overall for me it is about protecting my skin, but the helmet is for impact and faceplant situations. Gear is so damn good now, even the bargain stuff is decent and allows good mobility.
  22. I recently got one of those "park -n- move" motorcycle dolly's......was worth every cent and works as advertised. Park N Move | Shop Motorcycle Safety & Lighting Solutions (admorelighting.com)
  23. I have owned 3 Corbins on 3 different bikes, and I can attest to the Bagster being superior in every way "IMHO", plus it got rid of the forward lean and pressure towards the tank.
