  1. I paid like $135 for a rear and $117 for a front last Summer.......so climbing back up again I see. I have always considered what we must pay for all things motorcycles to be a "fun tax", but yeah the fun tax is getting ridiculous, can't buy much groceries for under $100 these days either. 🙄
  2. Thanks for another great write up, I reckon we don't always get what we pay for. I will continue to run the Dunlop Roadsmart III if the prices stay so cheap on those "fabulous tire by the way", otherwise I may just give these a whirl.
  3. It's a fine line between the right contact profile, and too much air makes for a harsher ride, less contact, abnormal wear, and not enough air can be ill handling, abnormal wear and more sidewall flex. I "typically" run 35 front and 38 rear, anything more than that IMHO and experience, I don't care for how it rides/handles. Not riding on the same side/lane of road makes a difference in wear as well, as the road crown is different on both sides. I get extremely even wear on my tires, and of course I try to ride plenty of twisty roads regularly as well. I do adjust per the temps outside like Dave suggests, and I have lost 22 pounds over the last year, so I weigh less now as well.
  4. Once you get used to the Aerostich pads, you forget they are there. A bit hard and non conforming when it's cool/cold out, but once body heat warmed up are good to go.
  5. Welcome to the forum, and your new Tracer is better in every way "IMHO" over the C14. I had an 08 that I bought new that same year, I kept it for 4 years but was my least favorite bike I ever owned for several reasons.
  6. Wife was an ER nurse for years, and for me the biggest plus for proper gear is against road rash.......wifey says you don't want that, and she saw some nightmare examples of such. Impact resistance is obviously nice, but overall for me it is about protecting my skin, but the helmet is for impact and faceplant situations. Gear is so damn good now, even the bargain stuff is decent and allows good mobility.
  7. I recently got one of those "park -n- move" motorcycle dolly's......was worth every cent and works as advertised. Park N Move | Shop Motorcycle Safety & Lighting Solutions (admorelighting.com)
  8. I have owned 3 Corbins on 3 different bikes, and I can attest to the Bagster being superior in every way "IMHO", plus it got rid of the forward lean and pressure towards the tank.
  9. I wouldn't worry about the mileage much, these engines can go 100K plus miles without blinking an eye.
  10. That's purty......good luck with sale!
  11. Get the bike you want IMHO, even if you have to pay a bit more. I would "at minimum" get a 900GT year model, like a 19/20 if you can find one, the changes made up from the FJ is worth it. On another note, the Suzuki V-Stroms are some of the best all around motorcycles that are out there and with a rabid following, I have previously owned 3 of them. The available accessories are unparalleled, and they are dead nuts reliable and easy to ride as well. Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
  12. I am still on the fence about switching from AGM over to Lithium ion, not sure for me that the lemon is worth the squeeze, and the reliability still sounds sketchy.
  13. This isn't for American models by the way "for anyone wondering"......they don't have this feature.
  14. So.....dishonest people don't always live in America? Glad you checked yourself, and shame on the tech/techs for trying to pull a fast one on you.
  15. Send the Admins a private message, overall the traffic on this site and participation is very low.
  16. Front springs are cheap, and yes you'll "likely" want to do them and of course new fluid if you swap the rear out. Yeah at that weight you are good, but suspension being properly dialed in for the rider is very noticeable.
  17. You lost me at "crash helmet". 😀
  18. No way I would be sanding/narrowing the screen "in particular a tinted screen", I just had to barely tilt my bar back a bit so the handguards cleared. Could always lose the handguards too, but man I wouldn't be trying to mod an expensive and perfectly good screen. My 2 cents, if even worth that. LOL

  20. I may eventually send mine in, although it runs quite well now. Thanks for the honest write up.
  21. Mine is also a 23, with the GT2 package and DCT 7 speed.......loving it!!!
  22. Wrong bike for you IMHO, something like a Suzuki V-Strom or Super Tenere makes more sense for where you live/ride and the size of ya.
  23. My fear of ice/slick trumps anything else, so the risk just isn't worth it to me.
  24. Nah just too damn ugly and old man looking, plus I find my Bagster seat to be very good looking and very comfortable as well. I think the 21 and up Tracer is a bit fugly, but the original FJ and Tracer 900 GT look quite pleasing.
  25. All my cars and motorcycles get a name, and yeah they are all of the female variety. My Tracer is Candace, and my Forte GT is Pearl.
