  1. The Stroms "except for latest versions" all had 19" wheels and handled almost as good as a 17" front IMHO. The Multistrada, GS, Super Ten, KTM Adventure and Tiger 1200 and a few of the Tiger 900 also run a 19" and all handle very sportsbike like.
  2. Yeah I agree that many sump guards and even crash bars are pretty intrusive and large, but I would highly recommend removable luggage racks for mounting any soft bags, also are so amazing for lashing down anything else on the bike securely.
  3. Proper moto boots are game changers for many reasons, first and foremost being foot/ankle/lower leg savers.
  4. Oh I'd repair that for sure, then take the extra money and buy a second bike.
  5. I'd get a 1200 or 1250GS or perhaps even a Super Ten........so sorry about your baby, glad you're ok.
  6. Congrats and really like the color, how's it handle with that big 21 inch front wheel? You also going to get a bash plate and some panniers/racks?
  7. Yup I have a Booster Plug and what Knyte described is accurate.
  8. In my experience and feedback from numerous others, most dealership technicians and the managers of such.........are imbeciles.

I miss having a true dual sport in the garage, may have to remedy that one of these days.
  10. Batteries fail when they fail, you can never go by how old they are. If your bike turns over good, then doubt it's the battery causing any issues. Throw in a new battery and see what happens, very easy first item for troubleshooting........."batteries do strange things". I also do not keep my battery connected to a trickle charger ever, I just give it a charge overnight if it's been a good bit during the winter months since I have ridden, I just don't trust a battery minder or trickle charger to stay connected. Not sure how much would affect things, but make sure your throttle free play is within spec.
  11. Y'all realize how many bikes now come from the factory with full synthetic in them? The ignorance and deceptions of many service managers or technicians is staggering, which is why we must do our own homework and learn from the experiences of others "and a little thing called science". I know many like that Rotella stuff and I too have run it in some previous bikes a bit, but in my experience that shifting quality goes rather quickly.......and it's not a true PAO ester synthetic.
  12. Arai are certainly made by hand and in Japan like Shoei, and IMHO set the standard for which all others strive to be, and yes that includes AGV and Schuberth. I will tout the HJC RPHA series yet again for the price when compared to the industry standard, comfort wise and features they match up quite well with the helmet elite. I was close to buying the Shoei GT air 3, but going back and forth trying on the HJC RPHA 70 Carbon compared to the Shoei, I just couldn't see/feel much of a difference considering price points. Some damn fine lids out there for some damn premium prices, but I reckon it's all subjective.
  13. Saw one recently at Euro bike night, I think it is sexy as hell.
  14. No way in hell I am dropping that much coin on a lid, no matter how comfortable it is and the fit/finish. I am a big HJC RPHA series fan "not made in China", have their excellent RPHA 70 carbon and they have a modular series as well in carbon called the RPHA 90. Shoei and Arai are without question the most comfortable and beautiful lids out there, but I just cannot justify paying that much for something that won't last more than 4 or 5 years safely. The Neotec 2 might be found discounted soon like you mentioned, but my buddy got one last year and isn't in love with it at all.
  15. They work well, perhaps the all around best oiling system out there.
  16. Did you not have the handlebars locked where it was parked?
  17. Used to be much cheaper to have fun, not very long ago.
  18. Just another perfect example of why I'm not a fan of most humans.........so sorry this happened to you, thieves and looters need a hand cut off once caught.

    He doesn't want street legal.
  20. I still have no discernable noise on my 20 with almost 16k miles, maybe I'm in the clear?
  21. Running premium in this bike is certainly painful at the pump with these intentional gas prices, never dreamed I'd spend $40 worth of fuel on a good day ride. 😔
  22. I am about to order up an OEM rack for my 20 in a few weeks, really like the overall design and how the top case won't sit so far back like other manufacturers.
  23. I have been using Clenzoil bicycle chain cleaner/lube on my chain applied quickly/easily with a small detailing sponge for most of my ownership of this bike, and at almost 16K miles......the original chain and sprockets look amazing. Up on the centerstand and a few rotations of the wheel, and I lube the chain very quickly and with little to no mess and hassles. I have run oilers on bikes before, they do fling no matter what you use in them, but do agree the convenience is nice for some while on a long trip. Personally I like lubing my chain manually, gives me a good opportunity to see the condition of everything, and it just takes little time at all. Nice to have options for sure, but always some trade off and compromise no matter what you choose.
