  1. As I've gotten older, one of my favorite sayings as a moto rider is........."just buy the damn bike".
  2. Oh......and this 3 cylinder engine is an absolute gem!!
  3. The 23 Tracer doesn't come with OEM grip heaters?
  4. I "almost" bought that exact machine.......however the overall reliability and maintenance costs had me reconsider. But oh my goodness was that a fun machine to have in my garage for a week!!!
  5. I have owned a 2008 Concours 14, and IMHO my Tracer GT is an overall better touring machine, much much lighter.......and much more fun.
  6. I've ridden out West and yeah there are indeed some spectacular roads and scenery, but I much prefer the roads overall in Tenn/NC/WV/VA and Northern GA "and it's much much closer for me". The dragon is indeed overrated and over ridden, hell I don't even mention that road when talking about great roads to ride.
  7. Yeah I hear ya, have owned a Vstrom 650, DR650 and a WR250......so many great off pavement roads in Ohio I miss exploring.
  8. Getting closer to the version I'd actually buy.......still needs cruise and heated grips for me to add alongside My tracer.
  9. I'm pretty sure that most OEM's are building bikes that people want. The FJR and the Super Ten are a bit outdated machines no matter how good they still may be, the new Tracer is Yamaha's flagship sport touring bike now........how or why is that a problem? Keep your older FJ9 or Tracer if you like it that much, but folks I hate to break it to ya........technology isn't slowing down just because a few don't like what features and gadgets come on bikes now. Should be plenty of lower mileage "classic" Tracers out there for the owners that want less, the rest of us will get with the times and enjoy such.......it is what it is. The T7 has been a HUGE success for Yamaha, and that machine for sure isn't loaded with all the gizmos and tech, they built a bike that many were indeed asking for. Most owners don't put many miles on their bikes overall, so again there are plenty of lower mileage well maintained classic machines out there to buy on the cheap. Look at all the tech on full blown sport bikes now, I am sure that most owners aren't complaining about that.
  10. Damn.....I'm almost 52 and on par to retire at 57, at least that's the plan depending on whatever tomfoolery keeps happening in the world.
  11. On par or even better perhaps? Yamaha is the one Japanese company that is offering similar bikes and specs to the Euro stuff.........KEEP IT UP!!!!
  12. I do bet however that the above PanAm based build would be an absolute riot to ride for short distances!!!!!
  13. The kit didn't work with my new Bagster seat, which is fine since that seat doesn't have the slope.
  14. Youtube has the answers......who would've thought?
  15. Sorry......but HD is totally in the shitehole far as I am concerned, they could do so much more but yet continue to do mostly the same. At least Indian is thinking outside the box, however they too could also be leaning into the sport and sport touring or even perhaps ADV machine markets as well........DAMN SHAME.
  16. It's the perfect size for me, want nothing that even remotely resembles a barn door that some have here on their bikes. All I get is smooth clean air flow.......no buffeting at all.
  17. Really hasn't for what all you are getting.......helluva deal IMHO.
  18. I have the MRA sport shield and love the damn thing, works awesome and the best looking shield out there.
  19. It's IMHO the best bargain in all of motorcycling for everything you are getting.
  20. Hairdryer and some WD40.......works like a charm, my bike is 100% de-stickered.
  21. You just don't tap into or compromise wiring, in particular a CANBUS system. You can't see the front of bike while riding, so if you are just wanting more additional lighting for overall visibility of cage drivers, then I would just add some LED lighting. Honestly additional lighting doesn't even help much with that, but the SMIDSY maneuver does work very well in freezing cage drivers in their tracks. Background camouflage is our worst enemy, and doing the slight weave I mentioned is something I always use anytime I see a cage driver inching out of an intersection........IT WORKS.
  22. Ample vids on youtube of just how capable off pavement the T7 is..........and it is very very capable, more so than most riders would be willing to do.
  23. I wouldn't mess with the wiring in any way shape or form, perhaps just add some additional LED running/fog lights instead?
