  1. I have been using Clenzoil bicycle chain cleaner/lube on my chain applied quickly/easily with a small detailing sponge for most of my ownership of this bike, and at almost 16K miles......the original chain and sprockets look amazing. Up on the centerstand and a few rotations of the wheel, and I lube the chain very quickly and with little to no mess and hassles. I have run oilers on bikes before, they do fling no matter what you use in them, but do agree the convenience is nice for some while on a long trip. Personally I like lubing my chain manually, gives me a good opportunity to see the condition of everything, and it just takes little time at all. Nice to have options for sure, but always some trade off and compromise no matter what you choose.

I love smokers but they are not woods or trails bikes IMHO, so much power and hard to control that ABRUPT power in tight spaces and especially at low speeds.

You want light as possible, but I'd stay away from anything over 300 cc. You are also going to be contending with subpar suspension "you're a big fella" especially in older bikes/tech so you're likely gonna be spending more than you are wanting anyways. Yes dirtbikes are really holding their value right now, not a good time to be shopping. A Honda XR230 if you can find one may hit the marks for you, however the suspension is going to need upgraded, but something like a Yamaha YZ 250X would make the most sense for you if can find one or maybe a TT-R-230? I did a cycletrader search for used dirtbikes in Minnesota, you're right.......there is practically nothing on the used market in that state. 😬
  4. The calculated mileage on my bike is pretty damn close to my manual math.
  5. I am at a loss as to why Yamaha hasn't gone with a self adjusting hydraulic clutch?

Buy this gem and be done with it all, otherwise look at a Yamaha WR250R. CRF250RX - Enduro Spec - Honda
  7. Didn't realize that any steering stabilizers worked/fit properly with these bikes?
  8. Glad you are ok first and foremost, damn what a bad luck situation that was. That SW Motech would be the only sump plate I would consider for this bike, hope your baby gets repaired and back up and running soon.
  9. Nothing sterile or tamed down on my 20 model, that's for damn sure. The biggest improvements with the arrival of the GT, was better suspension and a bit longer swingarm for stability, of course throttle by wire with CC, quickshifter, and factory heated grips. I am still not won over with the latest edition, sure love all the tech and refinements, but just cannot get past the looks. 🤡It may overall be the best sport touring machine out there now and particular for the price, I feel Yamaha hit a grand slam with it. Now if they would only do a total overhaul on the Super Tenere, so much potential for that machine.
  10. I took a recent weekend trip riding in SE Ohio and into WV......rode like a bat out of hell, and almost averaged 50 MPG for the entire trip.
  11. Keep it level with the top line.....what I recommend at least. Can't say I have heard any oil consumption issues with any of these CP3 engines regardless of year.
  12. I really miss the WR250R and DR650 I've owned......lots of fun exploring off pavement.
  13. You think the previous versions looked even remotely like an adventure bike? 🤨I personally don't care for the current look, and I very much dislike the new exhaust system.
  14. Glad you like it, figured you'd be pretty overall satisfied, and your results closely mimic mine as well.
  15. I am extremely intrigued with this system..... How a Chain Oiler Works – Motobriiz
  16. Yup, the dual USB adapter I got from Amazon a few years back is very snug and has never popped out. Another trick is to cut a few small strips of good quality electrical tape "3M" and put down into the socket.......very snug fix.
  17. Triples and 4's aren't very hard on packing at all, it's those twins and thumpers that put a beating on it. When my Delkevic system starts to get louder due to packing blowout, I'll just get another can for less than $300 over trying a repack.
  18. Good luck with equipping an MT-10 with "any" luggage options, I'm finding little to nothing for that. Might consider a Suzuki GSX-S1000GT, or a Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX? If you really wanna ride wheelies and be a hooligan with hard luggage, than look no further than a Ducati Multistrada.
  19. Do you adjust/lube your chain or change your oil/filter? If the answer is yes......then you can loosen/tighten handlebar bolts and tighten back to spec.
  20. Welcome, and you live in a fabulous riding state for "fun bikes".
  21. Yeah there are more than a few here who are no doubt OCD with every fabric of their being, maintaining a motorcycle safely and effectively isn't rocket science, nor is it remotely difficult.
  22. Mine will wheelie in 2nd without the clutch, so no idea why some will and some won't?
