  1. It's a blessing and a curse, the wifey really sweats when I visit there. I am roughly 5 miles from there by the way.......bad, very bad. LOL
  2. I like this flavor very much, shifting quality may have lasted even a bit longer than the full synthetic Motul 7100 I mostly run. I have also noticed that clutch basket chatter in neutral with either of these oils is practically non existent, engine mechanical noises overall are very subdued. Yeah I pay a bit more over other excellent choices out there, but for me the benefits outweigh the price. I used to run Mobil 1 4T exclusively in my last 2 bikes, that is another motorcycle specific oil that is very available at most popular autoparts stores. I live near one of the largest if not the largest motorcycle dealerships and accessory stores in the country "Iron Pony" so I have unfair access to so much that puts a strain on my wallet.
  3. I have been using this now for at least 10K miles, have 16kish miles on original chain and sprockets and everything still looks very good. I apply to chain with a small sponge while turning the rear wheel on the centerstand, the entire process takes maybe 1 minute and with zero mess. Very little fling, self cleaning, and very rust and corrosion resistant, also appears to have good water shedding ability. I had a Tuturo on my last bike and they work quite well, however I find my application method and choice of lube to be very hands off and very effective.
  4. My MRA sport is awesome all year long here in Ohio, rode yesterday in temps of about 50F and was very comfortable with zero buffeting. Wind hits me right about middle of my helmet visor, so I would imagine the touring screen would offer even more smooth protection for chilly rides.
  5. A BMW or Guzzi SSA sure is nice though for tire changes.
  6. Glad we all have multiple good choices, and today's oils are so superior to even anything from just 20 years ago. In saying that.......I will stick with PAO Ester synthetic motorcycle oil in my baby. The shifting quality clear up to the change interval with Motul/Belray I run is superior to any oil I have ever used in multiple motorcycles. Film retention is also "typically" superior with true synthetics as well, but any high quality non energy conserving car/truck oils are better than leaving even a synthetic in for extended intervals. To each their own, we overall have some great choices out there, however I don't look to save a buck or two on anything with my bikes.

Damnit that is awful, truly a lesson learned in "buyer beware".
  8. How sweet is the engine, I hear it's an absolute gem and sounds pretty throaty too?
  9. I was being a gentleman, anyone who knows me would agree. See what you did again, you are flexing as usual and piss on so many postings here. The smartest and most intelligent people I have ever met or gotten to know, would never tell you their resume or experience......the proof is in the pudding. You love that bike of yours to death, you come across as that anything other than "your fastest red" is just not up to snuff or is inferior. You're an interesting guy I'll give ya that, so in saying all of that........have a wonderful day.
  10. He is a very opinionated fella if you haven't noticed before?
  11. The Stroms "except for latest versions" all had 19" wheels and handled almost as good as a 17" front IMHO. The Multistrada, GS, Super Ten, KTM Adventure and Tiger 1200 and a few of the Tiger 900 also run a 19" and all handle very sportsbike like.
  12. Yeah I agree that many sump guards and even crash bars are pretty intrusive and large, but I would highly recommend removable luggage racks for mounting any soft bags, also are so amazing for lashing down anything else on the bike securely.
  13. Proper moto boots are game changers for many reasons, first and foremost being foot/ankle/lower leg savers.
  14. Oh I'd repair that for sure, then take the extra money and buy a second bike.
  15. I'd get a 1200 or 1250GS or perhaps even a Super Ten........so sorry about your baby, glad you're ok.
  16. Congrats and really like the color, how's it handle with that big 21 inch front wheel? You also going to get a bash plate and some panniers/racks?
  17. Yup I have a Booster Plug and what Knyte described is accurate.
  18. In my experience and feedback from numerous others, most dealership technicians and the managers of such.........are imbeciles.

I miss having a true dual sport in the garage, may have to remedy that one of these days.
  20. Batteries fail when they fail, you can never go by how old they are. If your bike turns over good, then doubt it's the battery causing any issues. Throw in a new battery and see what happens, very easy first item for troubleshooting........."batteries do strange things". I also do not keep my battery connected to a trickle charger ever, I just give it a charge overnight if it's been a good bit during the winter months since I have ridden, I just don't trust a battery minder or trickle charger to stay connected. Not sure how much would affect things, but make sure your throttle free play is within spec.
  21. Y'all realize how many bikes now come from the factory with full synthetic in them? The ignorance and deceptions of many service managers or technicians is staggering, which is why we must do our own homework and learn from the experiences of others "and a little thing called science". I know many like that Rotella stuff and I too have run it in some previous bikes a bit, but in my experience that shifting quality goes rather quickly.......and it's not a true PAO ester synthetic.
  22. Arai are certainly made by hand and in Japan like Shoei, and IMHO set the standard for which all others strive to be, and yes that includes AGV and Schuberth. I will tout the HJC RPHA series yet again for the price when compared to the industry standard, comfort wise and features they match up quite well with the helmet elite. I was close to buying the Shoei GT air 3, but going back and forth trying on the HJC RPHA 70 Carbon compared to the Shoei, I just couldn't see/feel much of a difference considering price points. Some damn fine lids out there for some damn premium prices, but I reckon it's all subjective.
  23. Saw one recently at Euro bike night, I think it is sexy as hell.
