  1. Black Tracer 900 (GT maybe?) this past Saturday in Cambridge as I was going to meet my VFR-riding buddy. Apparently they were coming from the Tim's I was going to in order to meet my friend.

There were two other bikes with him/her - a cruiser and another sports bike.

If you are on here and want to ask me about the new 2021 T9 GT - just drop me a note.

    Cheers

    Rob

  2. I have one fully working FJR bag (right side) and a left-side that is busted, but the lid is in mint condition. Now that I have a 2021 T9 GT, I no longer need them and would be willing to sell for a reasonable offer. Prefer local pickup. Not sure about shipping very far as the box is huge and would be cost prohibitive to ship.

Also - a set of Yamaha FJR bag liners - only used once or twice. These are the ones that Yamaha sells as liners for the City cases on the 2019/20 Tracer GT. I think they work for the Niken, Tracer and FJR. New, they are almost $200 CAD. I'd take $100 for them as they are basically brand new.

Lastly - an EvoTech rad guard for the 2018-2020 Tracer. Was on my 2019 for ~2000km so it's in very good condition. Pictures attached. $50

I am located in southwestern Ontario. Local pickup or meetup will get preference over shipping any of the above. Discount bundle pricing available. 🙂

Now that I have a 2021 T9 GT, I no longer need them and would be willing to sell - the catch is it would have to be within Canada as I am not shipping the huge box stateside. Sorry - not much help to most on this thread.

  4. Do you think the T9 is going to replace the Fazer?

Is the idea that the Fizzer is used for short rips about town and the Tracer is for longer rides/touring?

I think the T9 might surprise you. Drop the bags and that beauty can be a hooligan. 😉

    Cheers,

My only issues are a lack of accessories for the T9GT.  Overall it is a good bike and an adequate replacement for my FZ-1 Gen2.

I like the split gauges and use the right one to show items of interest but not crucial stuff.  Though I do find the tach a bit difficult to read but I usually rev by sound anyway.

The available accessories in Europe is incredible. I use the term "available" loosely as a lot is on Covid back order etc.

Currently we can't even order the saddle bag/pannier liners. 😞

I now own the T9 GT.  I previously had a 2015 FJ09 that I rode for over 5 years.  The seat on the T9 is definitely higher than the previous gens.  It is much improved over the previous models but still lots of room for improvement.  I do plan on getting the heated comfort seat.  I love the bike but I am having a few issues that need addressed at the breaking maintenance.

@BVEBRAD - would like to hear about your issues if you want to share?

I've enjoyed about 3000km on this beauty so far. Nothing negative to date to mention.

    Simply a great bike!

Also decided to get a new helmet with matching paint job. Shoei GT-Air 2.

I may have also gotten a new Shoei to match the bike (I know, I know)...was able to find a RF1200 in this colour scheme.

What do you guys think of the split instrument gauges?  For as many reviews where riders claim they are just fine, I read almost as many with riders claim they are too glossy and angled wrong and hard to read in the bright sunshine.

No issues. Work fine and you don't notice the unique design over time.

I installed mine today: what a garbage product. Applied the large left-screen piece and it was nothing but air bubbles, and the adhesive is so strong that it's impossible to adjust after application and trying to rub the bubbles out just creates a permanent wrinkle. Decided to install the smaller trim pieces and see what the results would be; same.

Then I read the instructions... wet install with a soap solution. Oh.

Made myself a 50/50 Simple Green & water solution, ripped off the misapplied set, cleaned surface, sprayed solution, applied new set per the instructions exactly. Perfection.

Didn't think I was going to get humbled by a screen protector install on a Saturday 🙃 even worse looking back to see that @rlambke19 mentioned doing a wet install on a post that I missed in this thread.

The small piece(s) that go above the main displays that show neutral lights and cruise control are really hard to get the air/water bubbles out due to limited space. The plastic is also really soft, it reminds me of (and probably is) the old style plastic self-healing screen protectors for phones. Solid product, 9.5/10.

    Phew!

I was worried there after reading the first few lines of your post. Surprised they don't include the spray solution as other companies do (Eazi-Grip).

    Glad it worked out @jthayer09

How does it look? Are the lines where the pieces meet up really visible?

    Cheers

  10. Just an update on the MRA screens for the T9s. Originally they told me that they weren't going to re-design them for the Tracer 9 - but they have since changed their minds new designs are in the works. They haven't put any photos up on their site yet - but they told me soon! So if you are looking at them, maybe hold off a bit until the new version is released.

    Thanks!

Just ordered a kit to myself over here in Sweden

@nick@forceberg.netEazi Grip also came out with a version. It's only 4 pieces, but I'm not sure about them. I know the Speedo Angels stuff is quality and they stand behind their products. They did say to make sure you use the wet install process for this one.

Too low and expensive, no need for CANBUS.  Ebay and amazon is tour friend...

These may be a lot bigger than you want but really are what you need...

    Thanks.

Not sure how to mount those - I'm not much of a fabricator.

Denali also makes these offset ones - not sure how they'd work with the new fairings.

  13. I love the exhaust note on my T9 GT...will not be swapping the exhaust any time soon.

The wide seat does make the reach to the ground a bit farther for my 31" inseam - but still managaeble.

Windscreen went as soon as I got home - the MRA Sport from my 2019 GT went on. It works great as it did on the previous bike - except the larger handguards on the T9 will hit the screen if it's raised up and the bike is at full turn (like you would doing a u-turn or moving the bike around in the driveway/garage). I reached out to MRA and asked them if they are going to be developing a new version for the T( and they said yes. I sent them pictures of mine and said to let me know if they needed anything else. I pretty much leave mine in the lower position anyhow.

Bike is ridiculously smooth, both from a power delivery and a suspension perspective (I've been riding in mode 2 for both)

I disabled the quick shifter as I didn't like the up shifter when taking off from a stop. I think I will re-enable downshifting and leave the upshifting disabled. You can do this easily from the user menu.

Has anyone attempted to clean the dash yet? It's a dust magnet but I am loathe to touch it as I hate scratches/swirls on my dashes.

    Cheers

Would anyone here be willing to measure their 2020 900 GT windscreen mounting points just to double-check before I go making a $200 purchase? 😋

For my 21 T9GT I got the following (eyeballed due to curve of windscreen):
Horizonal distance Between top bolts: 205mm

Vertical distance between top to bottom bolt: 125mm

Horizontal distance between bottom bolts: 145mm

    Thanks in advance!

    It will fit.

Depending on what screen you got to, you may have issues with the new hand guards hitting the screen at full turn. The new hand guards are larger than those on the previous GT models.

I have been screwing around with windshields, fairings etc for 50 years. Vetter, Pacifico, Rifle, National Cycle, Slipstreamer, Puig and others I can't remember across the US, Canada,Western and Eastern Europe.  On my tracer I tried the stock with MRA deflector, V Stream sport touring, V stream with MRA, Puig and they all either beat me or my ears up (at this age I can't afford to do that).  Part of the problem I think is the factory mounting hardware.  Once buffeting starts it sets up a harmonic motion that's like the old motels with the vibrating bed (sorry you younger guys missed this exotic era).  So after screwing around since I had a trip coming up to east coast and outer banks, I broke down and bought a MadStad system.  NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING compares to this set up.  No ear plugs, no vibration, no buffeting and when I got stuck for a 100 miles or so of good rain I could watch the rain drops fly over my head.  I wear a Shark Evo One helmet which is noisy but I can and did ride with the chin bar pulled back (only one certified to do so).  Best 300 bucks I have ever spent on a motorcycle.

What size did you get? They offer 20-26 (I'm assuming inches?)

Do your hand guards hit the windshield when at full turn? Just curious as there are no cutouts on the sides like on the stock screen and other aftermarket options.

Idiot politicians here have now declared that  120km per hour (app 75mph) in a  80km (app 50mph)zone is "stunt driving or racing "!!  Licence suspension, seizure of vehicle and fine up to $5000!  Murderers get off easier!  This was previously only on 50 kms over the limit.  Have u ever passed someone going 78km / hr? U can easily be going 120 in two seconds on the Tracer 900. Now I have to fear police radar on every rural road in cottage country! Not happy!

It's only in zones where the posted speed limit is less than 80km/h. Still BS, but it wouldn't apply to an 80 zone - unless you were going 130!
