  1. I'm assuming the video has seat erosion, valve face erosion, and valve cupping. Can't remember the name but the face mushrooms.
  2. Oil and filter at 4k miles for me. Maybe 5k miles.
  3. https://www.rattlebars.com/tirewear/ New link.
  4. driver and pass. seat done? How much$$$? Might try one more time.๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„
  5. Mine uses the rigidity of the mesh. I have it cut slightly bigger then shoved down the intake hole. I also think hot glue will melt under there. Hot day, hot engine.
  6. Did the same when I got mine. Last bike they not only brought food they ate the air filter. I have about the same thing, 1/4 inch mesh blocking the opening.
  7. There is a small piece of foam mounted on the underside of the tank. when tank is installed it blocks air from coming in straight from the front into the intake. APS: just do a search. EDIT APS can only be done on 15 and 16. Also dont know if that foam is on a later year bike.
  8. Since its been 3 years it must not have been a mind boggling improvement. I removed the front foam piece from the front of the tank but otherwise left the airbox alone. Your metal shavings is disturblng. What are they, where did they come from? Which side of the air filter were they?
  9. Horses and I never got along. HP on the other hand๐Ÿ‘ Yeah, they'll have to pry my GAS motorcycle out of my cold dead hands. Same with my guns. I dont like where the US is going. When the crazy few try to dictate the rest of us.
  10. Just shows I'm flexible. The question is the future. What are used bike (gas burning, what evil ๐Ÿ˜ฎ) prices going to do with all this going on? I can see it go both ways. Depends on the $$ and availability of gas. I for one see no future in EV's no matter HOW GOOD the batteries get. There just is no way to cross several states only stopping for 10 min. to gas up.
  11. So you had to drill out a brass plug. Get a "D" shaped pilot screw tool. Big deal. I got this bike and had to pull it's heart out and send it cross country to Wash. state. Just to get it to run right. You haven't lived till you pulled that carb. bank out of your CBR11 for the 27th time.
  12. Heck, just did the jet dance last winter on my QT50. Bigger bore, bigger carb, and pipe. Hard part is finding where to begin. Only thing to go on was WAY off. Main was bigger than any logic. It's now doing 45 mph. Stock from Yamaha it did 27 mph.
  13. Watch this, get flashed, be cured. You may turn the throttle WFO, but the ECU is laughing at you. This and worse is our future. Glad I lived in the era of real power in motorcycles. All you needed was carb. jets.
  14. I've been hesitating to put this out. You take on all responsibility etc. I don't like aftermarket levers but I have small hands. You can bend the clutch lever so at rest it sits closer to the bar. Remove lever and place on old carpet and hit with large rubber mallet. Work slowly and refit and test. DO NOT try to bend back the other way it will break. Im sure you've seen/done this yourself with levers bent from wrecks curled around on themselves. As soon as you try to straighten they snap. I've done this to many bikes, never a problem. Especially good with bikes with the friction zone all the way out at the end of lever travel. THIS BIKE.
  15. No applause, just 10's and 20's.๐Ÿ˜
  16. Yeah, my V65 Sabre had a 2 part rear valve cover so it could be slid out under the frame. Bad. Screw and lock nut adjustment. Good.
  17. Yeah, the days of $100 or less for a decent rear tire are over. I've ran Shinkos and Kendas on various bikes in the past, no problems. Dual sport and street. Still have a Dunlop RS2 rear in standby. Next for me probably RS3 unless too much $$$. Then might go Kenda or ๐Ÿคท
  18. Got out for a good ride today till a storm chased me home. Never let it be said I don't find the most backwoods places to ride.
  19. Yes, getting old sucks. I'm now taking Tylenol before a ride. My butt, shoulders, neck all hurt. The rides get shorter and shorter. Don't know how much longer I've got. It's too the point It's distracting and dangerous. โ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
  20. I've got the same reaction. I grew up in the "flats" IA, MN, KS, etc. Now that I've been in PA since 87 it looks so flat out there. I've been on a road trip (car) to Oshkosh WI. last year and forgot how flat it is. Every hiway overpass is a scenic overlook.
  21. Was the $6k the asking price or the negotiated price? I see 2015-2017 with asking prices of $7500 and higher all over, all the time.
