  1. The supply problem is still bad. Oil shelves are mostly empty everywhere. Plan well ahead to get your favorite oil. Might have to order it.
  2. Got out riding! Is anyone else riding less and enjoying it less because it's over $20 to fill the tank now? I am. All my riding is now joy riding. No commute, maybe a store run.
  3. That's way low. What chain is that? I would get 20k miles out of a chain min. on my CBR1100XX back in the day. Makes WAY more HP and torque. Im still on the OEM chain on my FJ09 at 8500 miles. Still perfect.🤞
  4. You need to move. The bike isn't cursed.
  5. I'd start with the battery/charging system. With all the problems at once I bet it's on it's way out. ECU's do not like low voltage. Got a digital multi-meter?
  6. No. The noise comes from worn out rubber dampers in the clutch basket. Chain and sprockets make their own noise.
  7. I didn't see that. No, just no. please don't use a clip type master link on anything. At the very least you'll blow a hole through your engine case. Worst, a bad wreck. At the very least check it before, during, and after every ride.
  8. Wow! Well there you go. Those things probably kill 10 mpg too.
  9. Seems to be a lot of variables involved with the shake. I got my bike used and ran it up to the then 115 mph limit. No problems. At the time no bags, trunk, or hand guards. It has a V-Stream Sport windshield. Now Shad small bags, ECU tune now no governor. I've had it it over 120, no problems. Can't call it. Edit: That's it! It's the beak!
  10. I can vouch that removing all the locator pins works fine. I was skeptical at first.
  11. Impressive! Good sticking to it and making it work. I on the other hand like my quick steering and flickability. The key to avoid instability is a light grip on the bars. You can't fight an oscillation, just grip lightly and it will be stable.
  12. This is a good point to mention about a ECU tune. Not only can the fan temps be lowered but a lean running engine runs hot.
  13. I'd wipe it clean but keep an eye on it. True story: On later year Honda ST1300's they attached a hose at the weep hole that ran to the ground. Would have to be gushing for you to know.
  14. Jeez! that's an earthquake crevice or sinkhole! I'm going to Philly (begrudgingly) tomorrow, I better take a tank. Cant blame the tires for that one.
  15. For the clutch basket holding tool I've seen EBC has one that looks like a clutch plate with a long handle. Haven't priced it but thought one could be easily welded from an old friction and clutch plate with a handle also welded on. This grips all the slots instead of just 2 like the vice grip style.
  16. https://harrisburg.craigslist.org/mcy/d/elizabethtown-2002-kawasaki-zrx1200r/7480808164.html I know this guy Jon, he's local to me. He's more of a bike addict then me. I didn't think it possible. Has a good YouTube channel also. The ZRX12 even looks like a 700 Nighthawk from a lot of angles.
  17. Well, sold for $3750. Too rich for me. Add in getting it from Wisc. to PA. More $$$. Goes against the grain, it was $2700 brand new in 83.
  18. In today's crazy, artificially, inflated prices I think it's a deal.
  19. My FJ-09 is a downsizing. Previous bike was a ST1300. During that time I had a FZ-07. I liked the FZ but found the engine slightly lacking at fast speed. I like having the power to zip up to 100mph or more when needed. I traded both for my FJ-09. I'm happy. FJ is light AND has the power I like to use every ride. Im also NOT a fan of tube tires. Just no. Ten 7 also has a butt wedge for a seat. Saw one at a dealer.
  20. Agreed. Im lucky to get 5k miles out of ANY rear tire on ANY bike. I don't even get 10k miles on fronts.
  21. If it was brake fluid when he wiped it there would be no paint.
  22. Watching. Keep us updated. ABS wires also.
