  1. No but it removes the static binding from when the whole combo was forced previously. It isn't much, but it's a thing.
  2. No, the wheel will always be correctly aligned with the AXLE. You got three dimensions your working with here, not two. Poor example but think of sitting on the bike and both forks in your hands like a triple clamp, now push one fork forward, this is highly exaggerated, but this is what happens but from the wheel end but very small. The slop being taken up is from the forks, not the other end.
  3. If your worried about the friction or throttle pull, a few have lightened the spring on cable carrier to great success: https://www.tracer900.net/topic/3442-reducing-throttle-effort/#comment-39568
  4. Works good for me, most everyone carries it so that's what I use. You sure your not fooling yourself/getting used to the bike now/past the honeymoon phase?
  5. I was actually thinking about it till we got 1/2" of snow Saturday night and out came the salt parade. Was really liking this no snow winter.
  6. On a happier note, after doing the valves on my bike, it actually runs and revs! First timer with the whole valve under bucket deal. Sadly had to tear it partly back down again to cylinder #1 spark plug valve cover gasket phuckery but that's the way she goes. New spark plugs, flushed coolant, gave the radiator a soak over night to release the bugs, new air filter, oil change,
  7. While I'm here. Shims came in while I was out on work, we'll see what we get accomplished today.
  8. Oh yeah, my helper had issues with thousandths to mm, hence the decimal discrepancy. Say what now? Or do you mean you measure and remove at different points? I thought you measure at the line tdc and remove/install cams at triangle btdc? I hate four strokes.... Hope I don't screw it up. But if the holes in the cam are correctly lined up, and the timing mark is at the triangle, should be fine no? Like the picture?
  9. 20k valve check, yep everything tight on the exhaust. Do I stack shims or do I have pull the shims that are there and measure? FYI everything is in mm and I only had thou feeler gauges, hope I that works.
  10. Added note, not a lot of people talk about it but those lipos do/should/prefer a full charge outside what the bike can deliver voltage wise now and again. IIRC some even suggest keeping it on a charger full time but I've seen some get away with not doing it at all so maybe it's just vehicle dependent?
  11. What's the voltage on the lipo when it cranks? These ecu's super sensitive to drops.
  12. Pfff no one I know has ever been burned before on a deal too good to be true...
  13. Going rate from usual suspects is 350 USD, i picked mine up for sub 300 a year or so ago. I wouldn't bother if you haven't noticed.
  14. I believe so, your primary is 1RC-16150-00-00 which is the same as the 2020-22 Tracesr, and the updated is B7N-16150-00-00. No, I only have 20k on the bike and it's a trivial task to do the plates if need be in the future minus the ~ 15 dollar gasket.
  15. I did the easy button and just bought the new basket. This seriously took 15 mins to do. Night and day difference. I took a quick spin around the block before hand since I wanted to do a quick back to back test. Feels like it did for the first 3k of ownership before I started chasing my tail trying to find that weirdness gronk feeling. I have ~20k on my bike. Also keeping my old basket and going to modify to keep it around as a "just in case." I haven't heard anyone have issues with the new basket but more time/miles my be required but I think we are in the clear.
  16. IDK, dealers play all sorts of games with numbers online to get you in the door, surprise the dealer setup fee is 2500 instead of the normal 500-800. Been there, done that, always call for out the door price.

Well I now own the world's most expensive klx300r. Original dealership's owner finally got wind of all the shenanigans and wanted out. We split the cost. Yadda yadda pain in the ass. Oh well, bike is mine, I paid a lot in stress and cash. We bought a number pack because my boy likes stickers, he choose my number lol. 😂 We should be ready to rock next spring. Even picked up a decent trailer on the cheap, which means it's probably stolen in my experience...

I'm on the list of victims, not sure if that does anything. Guy has a rap sheet going back to the 90's, career felon, but because it's minnesota, he just keeps being let go.

The real sore deal is since there's no title, our DPS (DMV) won't run the vin to see if it's stolen or has a lien. Same goes for ATV and snowmobiles in MN. That was a real eye opener for me.

Private sale. Guy bought the bikes from a dealership (and 5 other dealers in a week period) with fake checks, then sold the bikes private sale. And since MN doesn't title bikes, there's no tracking them unless you register for trail use. Dealer doesn't give a shit, they just want their bike back and I'm left holding the bag. I even changed the oil, swapped out springs, and changed the chain and sprockets. All which I loose to the dealership.

About the worst day ever. Turns out the 300R I bought was stolen. So yeah, it was too good to be true. Got a nice friendly call from the sheriff's office today. Guy apparently ran a scam on 4 dealerships in the area, 12+ bikes in total, fake personal checks for all of them, then sold the dirt bikes cash, private sale. And since dirt bikes don't receive titles in Minnesota, the only way they find them is if they are registered for state trails, which I dutifully did since we would be hitting the trails. Bike hit hot on registration. Have to return the bike to the dealership and I'm out 3700 bucks. The response for restitution from the sheriff was "get in line, guy has 800k plus in judgement against him as it stands already from a false front construction company". That was our whole next summer vacation money/plans. At least the wife and kid will get some trail time but I doubt they will go without me. So hurray for justice, dealer got theirs and I'm broke and pissed.

And we're done! Got tired of ridiculous prices on Facebook and went and picked up a klx140rf for the wifey. I don't think she smiled that much on our wedding day...😵‍💫
