Did the stand break or just sink in? Curious as to the mode of failure as I perform the same on boarding procedure but I'm almost 3 bills in full gear.

Crush washers? Is this 1974? -
Bahhh don't tell me these things, ignorance is bliss. Still sticking with 5's because I'm mildly cheap.

Dang I can't get under 400 usd for road 6. Best I've found is 320 for road 5's with the rebate.

We have a reserve? Like old school petcock reserve? Or are we just talking about the warning light?

Check the easy stuff first, since there's no cel I would start looking at things like the kickstand switch. -
It would have to be a third party solution in place of the oem.

Dang that white and gold is hot, they should have match the wheels to the forks though.

Got to ride to work today. This spring has not been motorcycle friendly for us. I think we've maybe had 7-10 days thus far above 45 degrees and not raining. Just miserable. Going to be raining all weekend coming up too. -
Preparing '20 900GT for longer tour. What do I need?

They don't put this one your states id? I have organ donor, blood type, and linked to my driver's license I can put any additional information. All optional of course. -
Yeah but it's going to have to be an aftermarket solution.

Breaking in the new helmet. It's been so cold and rainy this spring it's the first day I could put on some miles. Still only got to 50. -
I've dabbled in both the dedicated gps world and the phone as a nav device. Quite simply, no one gets it right. Garmin is crap exporting drives, even worse it only breadcrumbs x amount of miles so you can never always see where you've been. Phones a great, but. Small large display is hard to come by and I've had issues in direct sunlight and heat shutdowns across various models. So many are close but none make it a game changer. What I don't understand is how my 500 dollar depth finder on my boat has not only has a screen that can be seen 100% clearly in direct sunlight, completely weatherproof, it has infinite breadcrumbs, thousands of waypoints, and easily exports/imports anything you could imagine. Hummingbird needs to get into the motorcycle gps game because Garmin doesn't get it in the least, and they make comparable depth finders, bring some of that tech into gps and they'd have a winner.

Anyone using the Quad-Lock on a '20 Tracer GT?
kilo3 replied to Jayzonk's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
I used the one for a bicycle and put it smack dab in the middle of the handlebars landscape mode. -

Yeah something like that, I didn't do the whole booth thing though, just to keep the over spray off stuff in the garage.
-
Done. The video really screws up the color but you can see the glitter effect. Something in-between these two photos is the color, can't wait to get it out in the sun. Some orange peel, some parts better, some worse. Assembly this weekend.
-
Minus the glitter part, I would totally do it again. There isn't much labor, it's just a lot of time waiting, so it drags out the project. Major things I learned. 1. Do not sand below the topcoat/base of any painted part. You never know how it's going to react with dissimilar paints and bare material. 2. Basecoat, many many fine layers, don't rush, wait 4-5 days between coats because off the shelf spraypaint sucks if it doesn't cure. Not just dry, but cure. I think I did 10 totalish. 3. On the basecoat, don't worry about dust specs, minor imperfections, bumps, that all comes out in the wash on final wet sand. 4. 2k Clear coat is awesome, it's stupid hard, and self levels great but it's spendy. I'll be doing mine next winter, or at least I say I am. I also said I was going to do my valves and clutch basket this winter but that didn't happen either so....
-
Wet sanding takes a lot of the sparkle out of it and frankly I'm done with this whole adventure. Final coat of clear goes on friday and it will be what it is. Right now it's a varying mix of orange peel for surface texture, but glitters like mad and that's really all she wanted. Looks like weather wise we'll be assembling this weekend.
-
Well I feel shame, clearing over glitter was a bad choice. Should have knocked it down. I'll be in wetsand hell for a while.

It was found that you usually introduce more foreign matter with grease zerks. Now lower tolerance applications you'll still see it, like my snowblower has at least 6-7.
