  1. Cleaned up my headers, not sure if I'll polish it or just leave the brushed look. My hands hurt already, probably the later.
  2. I'm going to guess everything on exhaust is tight, intake 2 tight.
  3. Pro tip, just keep the bike on the center stand and cut with a sawsall. Took all of 5 mins to take off.
  4. Against all reason I ordered one of these today. Frankly I still don't really know why, must be the kid in me. Hope it's not too loud, buahhaa.
  5. Probably winterizing them, been freezing at night and highs in the 40's, that's in F.
  6. Rolled up 300 miles this am, that's about the max of my weekend warrior crew. Colors just starting to change. I really should have taken more pictures but why stop on the good roads.
  7. I guarantee no engineer has ever seen a single page of that manual.
  8. Do you skip gears 1-3 or something? Genuinely curious.
  9. I used B mode for the first month of ownership, this was also my first street bike. Now I use it in early spring when there's still ice/sand on the road as a reminder not to be an idiot before the roads clear.
  10. Balconies woods, something like that. I might just can the whole idea, it's becoming a logistical isse with pickup and whatnot, then I have to tote my helmet and gear which I forgot about with 2 weeks of work and dress clothes ehhh.
  11. For 10 bucks, I'd just replace it. Keep in mind that 10k miles is probably based upon car/truck use, not applications with a shared transmission fluid. If you want to go that route, just drain it and fill it up based on the oil sight, you can always add more if your low, messier to go the other way.
  12. @Nick62 The real "trick" for QS is you need to be accelerating, especially for 1-4 gears. Now we're not talking the sort of acceleration you get when stuffed in traffic coming off a green light, I'm talking you're taking the majority of the weight off the front wheel type of acceleration. That's when it's fantastic, or at least for me. With that being said, I also bang through the gears 4-6 while I'm just cruising as well using the QS, the higher gears don't seem to care one bit about acceleration. Unfortunately this seems to be highly machine/rider dependent. It's been debated back and forth about the measurements, angle... yada yada. Seems to make no difference for me. Not only have I rotated my QS off a cog on the spline, but also extended it quite a bit at the length. Others I've seen have to fiddle with everything to make it "happy" in their own application. Long story short, it's not an automatic shifter for lackadaisical shifting 1-4 gears. It's a quick shifter for when your on the beans, use it as such.
  13. How's crime in north Austin? I'm debating renting for a single day. The idea of leaving a bike outside a hotel is worrying. In MN, that bike would be gone within 2 hours.
  14. Just shot them an email to see if they do rentals or know a guy. At least the building I'm working at has HVAC now... wasn't the last time I was there briefly.
  15. Due to a series of bad luck, I'll be spending two weeks in Austin for work, which means I have a full weekend of Oct 1-2 of free will away from the family. Anyone know of a reputable place to rent a motorcycle down there, heck even a scooter will suffice for transport. I don't want to uber around all weekend.
  16. I just want colors again. Motorcycles, cars, trucks, all offer just shit tier colors these days. How many goddamn monochrome shades of boring do we have to put up with.
  17. Huh, never seen it. Ya'll using the kill switch? I only use the key.
  18. Most hot glue melts around 350+ freedom units IIRC. Similar, albeit slightly lower than most plastics.
  19. 🤷‍♂️ 16k on mine, looks brand new. I bought one to swap out last winter but couldn't tell the difference between the two.
  20. That's what my wife says about me. But srsly, horses are only good for glue and swedish meatballs.
  21. No that's also a hold over of lore from the 70-80's. Lot of people still believe it, along with somehow thinking an OEM engine needs to break in. This ain't no V8 you out together in your crusty ass garage with only a cylinder hone.
  22. Depends on how old and grouchy you are, I'm plenty grouchy so I dump my oil as soon as i passed 100 freedom units to get the bits and pieces out. Then again at 1k because I use oil made from eagle feathers and that stuff expires.
  23. Yeah the only reprieve is following the rivers but I'm usually have no desire to stop along side a nice bend and take a picture when i should be doing 50.
  24. I've learned I have to sit smashed against the gas tank for the best overall feel. Feels like i'm right over the bars but that's where it's most comfy for me.
