  1. I participated in the crowdfunding campaign for Mo'Cycle. I thought I would have my AirBag Jeans and Vest by now. I hope this comes to fruition. Here is the latest update .... Update #7 from Mo'cycle Airbag Jeans Posted by Mo'cycle on Jul 19, 2023 • 5:41AM PDT Timeline production The good news is that all the materials needed for production have been delivered and are in place at the factories in Italy and France. However, the bad news is that both countries typically close down all factories during the vacation month of August. As a result, production will not begin until September, with delivery expected in October. We have been making efforts to expedite the production before the vacation period starts, and as a result, we have managed to secure around 70 pairs of airbag jeans for delivery by the end of this month, July (specifically the black jeans in waist sizes 29 to 33). The remaining airbag jeans will be delivered in October. As for the airbag vest, the timeframe is still uncertain, but we are actively working on it. We sincerely apologize for the delays. With experience in handling productions, this is the first time we have faced such a delay. How it works https://www.airbagjeans.com/airbag-outfit
  2. Look back on this thread to see where I added spacers to the bottom of the screen to change it's angle, this improved the Powerbronze a lot for me. Also try moving up and down on the bike with the tall PowerBronze screen on? I went from sitting low to sitting up really straight till I found the least turbulence and ended up cutting my screen, and now feel it is a close to perfect as it can be. Cutting the screen is really easy. There are many tutorials on you-tube.
  3. According to the experts engine braking is not harmful...
  4. Just followed the link in your previous post. Don't forget to add your new bike to the end of your posts 🙂
  5. Most everything soon is gonna be operated and run by AI anyways. 😄 (If these posts had sound they would be indistinguishable).
  6. Good Luck with the new bike. $9499 for the 900GT seems like an decent deal with the option you installed.
  7. I probably have a million car miles driven (and over 7000 flight hours) and have never caused an accident. I have however been hit on all sides by other drivers. I am very alert to distractions and how they can affect us. You make it sound like the best drivers will never get into an accident. I pay plenty of attention but sometimes the machine is quicker than us humans. Sorry you seem so bothered by all of this. I'm over it, carry on.
  8. I often drive 8-10 hours in a rental car to get to work. Love adaptive cruise for long drives on the interstate. It allows me to relax more and the vehicle often brakes before I would when someone ahead does something stupid. Not for use around town or short drives, but I could see using it for touring on a motorcycle. Sort of like quick-shifters and traction control, people don't know what they are missing till they try them 😉
  9. I went down this road with my 2017 FJ-09. Tried the Calto tall boots (29" inseam), and felt like I was walking in women's high heel shoes. Next went with a T-Rex lowering link and skid plate and it worked very well for me. Never damaged the sump in a few thousand miles. Performance did suffer slightly but I'm not that aggressive a rider so it was a good trade off. With my Niken I installed the HyperPro kit which adjusts both the front and rear and increased my riding confidence greatly. It came from Europe in about a week and had the setup steps/settings included. I had it installed by my local shop as I didn't have the required tools. You make also need to shorten the side-stand if you lower the bike. That has been documented on this site. HyperPro FJ-09 / Tracer I've since removed the platforms from the tall boots and now have a regular pair of (albeit expensive) normal riding boots.
  10. Well look at that. Top 'and' side cases installed, and a pillion too 😁 Looking at the frame and rear panniers my guess is that these are 2018/2019 Nikens. https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/en/corporate/about-us/cycling-tours/tour-de-france/
  11. Removed the fenders (10 minute job), and fitted Mudwing Medflaps to my 2019 GT. No hardware just peel and stick, which I doubt would last long. I used some short rust free bolts with lock nuts to secure and sealed the gap with black Silicone RTV adhesive sealant. Used thread locker on stock hardware and sprayed the bolt heads black. Two last pics are looking back from front. Total cost $25.
  12. So from the link above find the part number for the color you want and do a google search. Then it's just about finding a store that ships. Try ebay also. Red panels B5U-F17B0-00-02
  13. See the accessories page on Yamaha Europe... Tracer Accessories
  14. Kiwav now has bar end mirrors for Nikens. As noted earlier in this thread I have Kiwav mirrors in the regular handle bar spot and love them. https://kiwavmotors.com/en/parts/controls/mirrors/bar-end/viperii-all-blue-bar-end-mirrors-compatible-for-yamaha-m16-threaded-handlebars-detail https://www.amazon.com/KiWAV-Motorcycle-Mirrors-ViperII-compatible/dp/B07SGQP8S4/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=25IIXN4BV8UPN&keywords=kiwav+yamaha+bar+end+mirrors&qid=1687804469&sprefix=kiwav+yamaha+bar+end+mirrors%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
  15. As was mentioned before the stock one is hollow. I had mine shortened when I lowered the bike. In the process my welder put an iron bar inside and welded it back together. After I had it powder coated, and it is real solid now. Soupys has one... Soupys Performance T-Rex Racing had them for a while but seem to be out. You could email them to see if they are making more. 16. I agree, the boosterplug is not a flash. I did not need to remap anything, increase the top speed, or open up cruise control to more gears etc. It just makes the ride more pleasent and can be reversed in a few minutes if needed.
  17. It was a cold and stormy night and I was looking through the forum when I came across 'The BoosterPlug'. I quickly ordered one, well it was winter and I wasn't spending money on gas, it arrived a week later. It was one of those late night purchases akin to buying something from an infomercial. I was bored and got my fix. Anyway six months later I find the Boosterplug in a drawer after completely forgetting about it. I traded in a FJ-09 for my Niken. The FJ was my first real bike and was too much bike for me at the time. Slow speed parking lot skills practice were frustrating with the snatchy throttle. I eventually got use to it, but it still was a pain. When I got the Niken I was pleasently surprised at how much better the throttle response was, not perfect but a whole lot better. I'm a mode 2 rider, mode 3 is boring and mode 1 finds me trying to break speed records, (BTW I'm up to 88mph). Today I installed 'The Boosterplug' on my Niken GT. I wish I'd done it sooner. I took the bike to a parking lot a couple of miles from home and was able to make tighter figure of 8's first attempt. I also noticed how much easier it is to 'Stop' (well almost stop) at a stop sign without putting my legs down. The slow speed throttle response is much better. It was an easy install, no skill required just some fiddling in a tight space. It took me about an hour with taking pics etc, but I could do it again in 20 minutes now that I know the drill. My understanding of how it works is that modern bikes are programmed to read the outside air temp a little different to what it actually is for emissions purposes, to control exhaust and pollutants. The boosterplug corrects this which results in smoother throttle response, however your dash meter thermometer might show about 35f degrees low. I didn't think to look at that on my ride tonight. Oh and BTW, I tried Mode 1 again... Look out Evil Knievil. The product and installation instructions are available at... Yahama products Niken specific location I took a pic of what you should have on hand for installation. The second pic shows a cover that needs to be removed, use a pointy thing to push in on the middle of the plastic push pin. The right side of the same cover requires a 5mm allen key and I added some thread locker to the bolt on re-install. Pic three shows how to release some fuse boxes that are in the way. Pic four shows the boosterplug hooked up before it was tidied into position. Pic five shows where I put the sensor, lightly zip tied to a brake line under the headlight. Later I was wondering if the brake line might get warm and effect the boosterplug reading. I felt the brake line when I arrived home and it didn't seem warm but it was a short ride, any input appreciated on that. I may extend the sensor line to another location further out front if necessary. Pic six shows the fuel pump main relay switch fuse which is tucked in the same area. I pulled that out by mistake so am posting a pic so you may not make my mistake.
  18. According to my GPS the Niken reads about 2mph high also. I try not to notice as it's help a little with the speed limit, if you know what I mean. 😉
  19. T-Rex stuff is excellent quality, they are really good at answering questions over the phone or through email. I have the Shad SH58X top case pictured in your 'Shad Luggage Rack' link on my Niken and absolutely love it. I dont fill it up but rather use it for helmet/jacket storage when off the bike away from home. However with the extra weight up front on the Niken I dont notice the large top case at the rear.
  20. Failure rate of Yamaha 11% v BMW at 40%. Then consider the cost of service and enough said, or is it?
  21. Try a google search. Twisted Throttle sells the R&G stuff at a preminium of course.
  22. Search ebay for tail tidy or fender eliminator for the 9GT. R&G also has one... https://www.rg-racing.com/browsetype/Tail_Tidies/Yamaha/Tracer_9_GT/#
