I learned today that 'Yamaha Trail TMW' refers to a new version of the TW200 that will have the Leaning Multi Wheel geometry up front. At first I thought it might be worth trading in my Kawasaki dirt bike for but then I saw the pics. Still, could be ideal to get to you favorite fishing/hunting spot, and no side stand. Don't want to get mud all over my KLIM Outlander GTX boots so I picked up a pair of adventure boots for when riding the dual sport. Got a pair of Noru Chikei ADV Waterproof Boots on sale for >$80. Suprizingly comfortable due to wide fitting. Not sure how long the straps will hold up, or how waterproof they will be but perfect for my short jaunts on the local trails. See Review Here

I strictly use non-ethanol gas. On the rare occasion that I do, I make sure to run a couple of tanks of non-ethanol again before winter hibernation. Works for me. Why does gas go bad in the winter? Gasoline can form gummy deposits and layers of varnish that gunk up any part of the fuel system they can reach. Most gas contains some amount of ethanol, and that spells more trouble; ethanol is hygroscopic, meaning it attracts water from the atmosphere. Cycling temperatures from warm to cold also increases the amount of condensation. Finally, ethanol cannot absorb as much water at low temperatures as it can when it's warmer, so the gasoline will phase separate sooner in colder temperatures. Once phase separation occurs, there is no way to reverse it.

I never noticed this but I dont remove my hands that much 😁 I will try it next time out. I guess it could be alot of things besides motorcycle mechanics? What is the condition of your tires? Are you centered on your seat or do you have some luggage that is not evenly packed? I've seen cars that are setup to steer towards the edge of the road when hands are removed from the steering wheel in case the driver was to fall asleep. Not sure if thats necessary on a motorcycle, two wheels or three. In the USA with hands off of the wheel my car will steer slightly to the right, and while in Ireland it will steer to the left side of the road. Since you don't list a location with your member name it would be hard to determine if this may be a factor. You might try putting you phone and wallet in your right side pockets to balance thing out.

Sorry to start another oil thread but this one has a twist. I have always purchased full synthetic oil as the extra couple of bucks gave me peace of mind, (Not really sure why 🙂). Today at an independant motorcycle store I was told that synthetic oil is bad for the clutch. I was advised that the engine will benefit from synthetic oil but not the clutch. I was purchasing oil for the Niken CP3 with slipper clutch and for my Kawasaki dual sport KLX230 with wet multi-disc clutch, so the store owner may have been talking about one or the other. I'm not sure if it was because he had no synthetic oil in stock, but I ended up leaving without any oil to take time to fully understand this. Opinions?

I believe the Yamaha side cases are all the same from 2015 -2020. The mounts on the bike are different depending on the year of make. The 2015-2017 should have the same mounts, as should the 2019 and 2020. The FJR1300 side cases have a larger capacity and fit 2015-2020 also. Tracer 900 2019 - 20

Nice to have the ability and the smarts to now know we are destructable. I experienced that recently when I hit a rock garden that I use to fly through on my mountain bike 15 years ago. This time I was AAARGH. 😆

I was riding with a group and we were into the sun on the return leg home. About 5 miles from home we drove into the shadows of trees and I noticed my low fuel light flashing.... +15miles since it came on. When I got home it was showing +20 miles since low light illuminated. I got 16.5 litres of fuel into the tank, to the holes inside the filler neck. We were ripping it the last few miles, so I think it would be safe to expect 20 miles after the low fuel light comes on with normal driving. Fuel Tank Capacity 18.17 litres (4.80gallons)
