  1. I found the FJ-09 did fine as combined weight for me and herself was about 320lbs. At the upper weight limit you might struggle a little on the older model, but the newer engine will probably pull a little better. Do a search on here for backrests to increase comfort for you're pax. Where are you? I'm currently in Youghal by the sea.
  2. Top Sellerie out of France has a heated gel lowered seat for the Niken and it gets good reviews. I ordered one and need to send in my stock seat to them from which they make the changes. I'm thinking of buying a basic Niken seat for the upgrade in case I want to go back to my GT comfort seat later. If you have a stock Niken seat for sale send me a PM? 3. The ECU flash will not only fix the snatchy throttle at low speeds, but can allow some standard parameters to be adjusted on the motorcycle. Some of us have had great success with The BoosterPlug. It takes care of the snatchy throttle for less cost than a flash and is easy to remove anytime. I find doing slow speed maneuver practice so much easier, with a Boosterplug installed on my Niken. Do a search on this site for those that have used it on the FJ-09. https://www.boosterplug.com/shop/yamaha-800-900-73c1.html

  5. Yes, it should be very reliable as long as maintenance is up to date. We have a couple of 200,000 milers on the forum.

  7. MotoEye e6 is a smart HUD that spares you from looking down at you Phone or GPS, with voice activation for calls and other features. Forward and rear cameras, group comms and more. I'm not sure if it would be more of a distraction been right in your face? MotoEye e6
  8. I remember reading a while back how auto manufacturers are building vehicles with all the options but many are locked out until you pay a premium. So the bike might cost say $10K but if you want to activate cruise add $1200, quickshifter add $900 and on and on. Seems like some here would go for that? Would you buy a motorcycle with features that were not activated and suffer the extra weight? Does it become a safety issue if ACC is not usable? What happens if you sell your bike, do the features you paid for get switched off for the new owner to purchase again.
  9. Stability wise... it's like two for the price of one 😁

  11. I've seen the Yamaha one advertised online and wondered if it will work with 3 sensors for my Niken. Spendy... who wants to be the guinea pig? Yamaha Original TPMS1 Yamaha Original TPMS2 (I tried the Garmin Zumo sensors and couldn't get them to work properly even with fresh batteries).
  12. Looks like a great trip, with you're experience out west you should be a motorcycle tour director in retirement.
  13. The sooner you do it the better. Old stickers tend to take longer to remove. Jump ahead to minute 3:00... Sticker Removal
  14. OK I understand now.... Found this on the FJR owners site... So I got some Blaster's Advanced Dry Lube from Home Depot to try and loosen up the latch on the left side. Sprayed quick burst on each of the locking bars and at the main bar by the latch a couple bursts and it worked great. The latch is moving quite easily now. FJR Owners
  15. I'm not sure if I'm understanding you but, do you have the same problem with the case off the bike as on. Sometimes if the case is not attached to the bike properly it can case difficulty closing the latch? I always found the Yamaha cases to be finicky to latch.
  16. Color Rite... Search for 2019 Yamaha Tracer GT Color Rite Motorcycle Paint Search for BWM2 on the Color Rite site... BMW2 Yamaha motorcycle color codes are almost always located under the stock seat (A). in some cases the color code is located under the front fender (B). In any case, if you cannot locate your color code, look in the owner's manual which has the original color code.

  19. I participated in the crowdfunding campaign for Mo'Cycle. I thought I would have my AirBag Jeans and Vest by now. I hope this comes to fruition. Here is the latest update .... Update #7 from Mo'cycle Airbag Jeans Posted by Mo'cycle on Jul 19, 2023 β€’ 5:41AM PDT Timeline production The good news is that all the materials needed for production have been delivered and are in place at the factories in Italy and France. However, the bad news is that both countries typically close down all factories during the vacation month of August. As a result, production will not begin until September, with delivery expected in October. We have been making efforts to expedite the production before the vacation period starts, and as a result, we have managed to secure around 70 pairs of airbag jeans for delivery by the end of this month, July (specifically the black jeans in waist sizes 29 to 33). The remaining airbag jeans will be delivered in October. As for the airbag vest, the timeframe is still uncertain, but we are actively working on it. We sincerely apologize for the delays. With experience in handling productions, this is the first time we have faced such a delay. How it works https://www.airbagjeans.com/airbag-outfit
  20. Look back on this thread to see where I added spacers to the bottom of the screen to change it's angle, this improved the Powerbronze a lot for me. Also try moving up and down on the bike with the tall PowerBronze screen on? I went from sitting low to sitting up really straight till I found the least turbulence and ended up cutting my screen, and now feel it is a close to perfect as it can be. Cutting the screen is really easy. There are many tutorials on you-tube.
  21. According to the experts engine braking is not harmful...
  22. Just followed the link in your previous post. Don't forget to add your new bike to the end of your posts πŸ™‚
  23. Most everything soon is gonna be operated and run by AI anyways. πŸ˜„ (If these posts had sound they would be indistinguishable).
  24. Good Luck with the new bike. $9499 for the 900GT seems like an decent deal with the option you installed.
