  1. My view is that "highway pegs" defeats the purpose of sliders as they will dig into the surface and cause the bike to either spin or flip. The SW Sliders are rather flat on top and can allow your feet to rest on them.
  2. I don't know, they seem to have similar quality to GIVI and are made by SHAD. Mine have worked flawlessly since I picked up the bike last June and traveled a bit with them fully packed, no problems. Yes they are a touch fiddally to close and open but once you get how to do it they work well.
  3. Interesting. The cases open by turning the key clockwise and pressing the square button, that pops up a lever under the handle and when you pull the lever towards the outside the case will either open or allow you to pull it open by holding the raised ridge and pulling toward you. My right case opens easily but the left case needs to be pulled open. I'm too lazy to get in there and wipe down the gasket with some insulation silicone lube/cleaner. Turning the key counter-clockwise will pop up the handle to allow removal of the case from the mount.
  4. Nope, mine was as smooth as ever but I only put 40 miles on it at Highway speeds and mixed speed traffic. No jerking noted.
  5. Got the recall done this morning. I only needed the flash as the throttle was replaced last year. Overall I can't notice any difference from then to now on the flash.
  6. I flashed the ECU of my 2012 FZ-01 and it sorted out the throttle. The 2021 Tracer 9GT is so smooth it doesn't need a flash in my opinion. BTW I just had the T9GT's ECU recall flash and I can't tell any difference.
  7. Yep, those are my tail bags which I can still use with the top case since I don't carry passengers. so in total I can have about 150L of gear including a weeks supply of Depends.
  8. I hardly ever use a tank bag except on a long trip so I just use a mag bag. Never fell off in all the time I used it. Now I'm replacing my 18L sloped tank bag from Cortech with a smaller 12L Cortech mag bag. I just dislike that ring around the gas cap. Most of the time I just use pockets and my top case or tail bag along with the side cases.
  9. I'm taking mine in for the recall this Monday, the weather has been awful here over the past week with rain snow and cols temps. My service manager said it would take 20 minutes to flash the ECU and maybe another 20 minutes to do the bar end work. I already had the throttle assembly replaced so it may not even be needed,
  10. I bought my T9 last April and received it in June. When picking it up the service manager showed me that the throttle tube was cracked but the bike was rideable but it did stick every now and then. They ordered a new throttle assembly and it took almost three months to arrive. All covered under warranty. That was the only problem I had and it's at 3,500 miles now. However, It has sat in the garage since November just waiting to get out again.
  11. I went with the SW Motech frame sliders, they are pricey but not by too much over others. They look good and provide a platform to use as highway pegs.
  12. According to the 2021 manual it has a maximum loading of 425 pounds or 193 kg.
  13. Bought Fleabay inner bags for the T9GT. Chinese made but available. The surprise is that they seem to be of good quality and fit the side cases perfectly. Next purchase is a CorTech 12L mag tank bag. My CorTech 18L sloping bag doesn't quite feel right on the T9GT
  14. I was searching for a replacement for my CorTech 2.0 18L Sloping tank bag and cannot find a filler system for the T9GT. The only one I found to fit is the SW Motech PRO ring for $66 and most places are out of stock, add the bag for another $230 and I decided to keep using my CorTech for as much as I use a tank bag on extended trips. It's magnets are in the right place to mate with the tank except for the on little mag in the bottom which sits on the seat gasket.
  15. A word about fuses. 2A fuses are hard to find at most auto shops and using a 5A is sketchy for the circuit. I found 2A fuses on Amazon and keep several as spare in the pillion storage area. Also in there is a Battery Tender SAE to 12V DC powerlet to use inflators or pumps and can plug in a USB adapter.
  16. I like my Transition 4 also. It is a good option for travel as it is very somewhat water resistant ( it will leak in a massive downpour) well ventilated to shed heat. It's my go to jacket in the mountains. Around town I like the CorTech GX-Air 5.0 it is well ventilated and i use a frog tog if it rains.
  17. It gets that way parked in the garage along with 600 or so salty cars.
  18. Finally the weather was good yesterday, 67F and no rain but it was windy. Rode the twistiest road in the Chicago area, the ravines on Sheridan Road. I got lucky that a LEO caught someone in a BMW Z6 for speeding most likely since the speed limit there is 15 mph, Ha Ha. The bike felt good and I love the sound that the CP3 makes. Now I will have to wait another two maybe three weeks to get out on it again.
  19. I have a Nolan 100-5 in medium with a SENA 50S stuck on the side and it fits in my side case except it has to be put in upside down with the top of the helmet on the bottom of the case and the chin bar facing the pointy end of the case..
  20. I had the same experience with the Michelin PR4s. No problem with two sets of Road 5s after 20,000+ miles,
  21. I have a 2021 T9GT with Bridgestone T32 tires. This is the first time I bought a bike and liked the OEM tires. To date I have 3500 miles and have ridden in the rain too many times. There is no discernable wear on the rear and traction has been excellent. Unfortunately it's winter in Chicago so no riding until the rain washes the salt off the streets. My previous ride was a 2012 FZ-01 and i had three sets of Michelins on it, the last two were Road 5s. Good tire good wear but the T32s feel just as good. Just my opinion.
  22. My T9GT was picked up in June 2021, I now have over 3,500 miles and all is fine. I had one issue when I picked up the bike, the throttle (grip) had a crack and would get stuck if in a certain position to the outside of the bars. We used a wire tie to keep it from shifting to the stuck position until a replacement throttle came in which it did after three months. It seems that Yamaha's supply chain is messed up. I'm waiting for the side case inner bags and fog light set to become available. I did give up waiting for the 39L top case and rack so I bought a SHAD SH45 and SHAD rack. My previous Yamaha was a 2012 FZ-01 Gen2 and it had 48,000 miles on it without a single problem that wasn't user error.
  23. I'm 72 and my bifocals work great to read the dash 😁. I moved the Trip1 and Fuel gauge to the right side with coolant temp and avg fuel. Then on the left I just have the Odo and Trip 2. Works great for me. I had wanted the Yamaha top case but they never seem to be in stock also the rack so I just bought a Shad SH45 and the Shad rack which was in stock. It is inbetween the two Yamaha cases in size and can hold two helmets, however, it means having a second key to carry. What I really want are the pannier inner bags but it seems that they are not available in the USA. I installed the SW Motech sliders and they look good on the bike. The only other item I put on is a PIAA horn to replace the mleep mleep stock one. The seat is fine for me, I like the support the firmness gives you, it worked fine for several long days in the saddle. The windscreen, though, not perfect is very good at 85mph, quieter and no buffeting compared to all the screens I tried on the FZ. Overall I think that is all I'm adding as this bike is so well balanced for me. My previous bike was the FZ-01 Gen2 which I had to mod quite a bit to get it to my liking. Not so with the T9GT. I finally got used to cruise control after a couple thousand miles, I now have over 3,500 miles. I was completely surprised by the OEM T-32 tires, they work great and feel just like the Michelin Road 5 I had on the FZ. This may be the first time I actually like OEM tires and I do ride sporty and in the wet.
