  1. A friend of mine had his in one of those holders and it flew off when he hit a large bump. Be sure you get one with a very tight fit or vel-cro it in place.
  2. That's an interesting transponder. It looks like the little gray square is the electronics and the sine wave line is the antenna.
  3. I had crash bars and highway pegs on my 1977 Suzuki GS750 and on a low side the downside peg dug into the pavement and spun the bike like a top creating a lot of rash. I install SW Motech frame sliders and they offer a place to rest your feet "highway peg" style. I forgot to mention that the crash bar bent in and scored the engine case but didn't crack it.
  4. As 2 and 3 Cylinders said we only get five pics per month without an I-Pass transponder before getting fined. I ended up getting two one for the auto and one for the bike. I found the perfect spot to mount the transponder on the 21 T9GT, the part that goes over the tank in front is pretty open on the inside, I covered the transponder in black tape and using the 3M lock attached it there. So far it has remained there for over a year and is not noticeable at all. It works at every toll reader and Skyway as far as I can tell.
  5. I have a Cortech tail bag that works nicely on a Tracer that I'm willing to sell as I have a Shad top case now.
  6. Just figuring that Yamaha doesn't want a liability for some doofus.
  7. Could it be that it's safer to loosen the axle nut while the wheel is on the ground rather than the bike falling off the center stand.
  8. I removed the attachable foot from the side stand. I had a drop due to added height of the foot on a very slight incline, most embarrassing.
  9. I just used the adhesive pads to attach the extender. It is still on after riding in pouring rain and over 2,000 miles.
  10. A* web gore-tex. Mine are about 7 years old and still waterproof and comfy to walk around in. Just recently I rode about 400 miles in the rain and the feet stayed dry.
  11. I agree. I finished a 2,000+ mile 8 day ride on the stock seat with absolutely no sliding forward and no discomfort. Yes my shoulders hurt but that is from having a pair of torn rotator cuffs and nothing to do with the bikes stock ergonomics. I'm 5'9" and weoght in at 180 if that helps explain anything.
  12. I passed on Ivan's flash and went with Vcyclenut because Ivan wouldn't do a stock exhaust flash on my 2012 FZ-01. He kept pushing a full exhaust AIS blocks, etc all for the small sum of $1,900. Sheesh. Vcyclenut did it for $200 and boy did it run great and still got 42mpg. On the positive note I have over 6K miles on my 2021 T9 and found that Yamaha has finally figured out how to do the EFI right.
  13. My dealer isn't getting any 2022 Tracers. They only had two 2021 and I bought one, the other sat on their floor for three months after the original buyer backed out. Reason, This is Illinois the land of the straight flat roads made for Harley Davidsons.
  14. Amazing that all other sources are out of stock and at the same prices. I did get it from CIMA in Aurora and they charged $10 for shipping on top of $45 for the shield. This is the first time the silicone bead failed on me in 9 years and before you ask it was 2.5 years old and out of warranty if there was one.
  15. OK, I finished my 2,400 miles trip in the rain for the final 486 miles. My pinlock decided to allow moisture to intrude causing fogging. After getting home I found that the silicone seal was partially torn allowing water in. Ordered a new one and installed it, no fogging at all. The original pinlock was 2.5 years old and the silicone wasn't sealing anymore. Called Nolan and got a new one ($55) in three days.
  16. My 2021 T9GT's speedo reads 2-3 mph more than Google maps GPS.
  17. I just finished a ride of almost 500 miles in heavy rain and to be honest the OEM T32s felt as sure footed as the Michelin Road 5s I had on my FZ01. I wouldn't hesitate getting a new set of T32 when these wear out (I have 6K miles on them now and they look like they have much more life left in them).
  18. Don't need it in this weather. Just in the low 40s and 30s.
  19. I have been using Nolan helmets over the last ten years and always have the pinlock installed and only take it out for the occasional cleaning. I wear eyeglasses so I have three layers to look through. As long as the visor, pinlock and glasses are clean I don't have any issue at night. I should point out that in cold weather it is my glasses that fog up but the visor/pinlock remains clear.
  20. Looks like the price went up from 4 years ago. https://www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/battery/motorcycle/yamaha/fz=10/998cc/2017/cylaz10sxta
  21. I guess you didn't read that I bought it at Batteries +. It's a house brand.
  22. The OEM battery in the FZ lasted for six years. I bought the less expensive AGM and it worked great for the time I had the FZ. I never had it on a battery tender because I don't have an outlet to plug it in where I park. It started the FZ every time. I hope this isn't too vague.
  23. They only stock two types both AGM with one around$90 and the other a hair over $100. It was in the FZ for 3 years.
  24. Batteries + AGM battery, under $100 and lasts. I put one in my FZ-01 and had no issues.
  25. They hold up well, as well as GIVI V35 in my opinion. Used them last July in the Wisconsin twisties near the Mississippi river north by Winona MN. The only drawback I have is that you can't fit a laptop in them, the SHAD SH45 top case has that covered.
