Power reset??

After 8,500 miles on the OEM T32s I decided to get new Road 6s before my trip to the BRP. I have had excellent results with the Road 4 and 5s in the past.

Installing frame sliders on 2021 Tracer 9 GT
OldBikers replied to bikelee's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
I installed SW-Motech frame sliders on my 2021 T9 when I bought it in 2021. Since then I have managed to drop it three times; once slipping on sand, another parking it on an incline and lastly entering my garage when I felt dizzy from chemo. The damage was to the hand guard, edge of the mirror and a scuffed side case which took out the reflector. I changed the sliders to SW-Motech crash bars so I could mount fog lights on them. Any interest in the frame sliders? -
Tracer 9 GT Trunk Install Issues...
OldBikers replied to cgreaseman's topic in Tracer 900 GT Discussions
I'm glad I had the shop do it for me. The mechanic was sweating and swearing. They replaced the security bolts with slightly longer ones and bolted the rack slightly different from the instructions. Overall they charged me 1.5 hours to do the job and they have the right tools. -
What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?
OldBikers replied to yamaham's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
Started setting up SWM fog lights but can't find info on the best way to route the cable from the battery forward. I may just go to the dealer and let them figure it out. -
I like the size and price of the Cor-Tech 12L mag bag. Easy to use and for once a year trip very convenient. Half the price of a SWM micro and more than double the room inside.

Thanks, finally got it figured out.

Does anyone know what the torque spec are for the four bolts that hold the engine upper in the frame? I heard it could be 33ft/lbs or 40. Which is the correct spec?

Crush washer for oil plug bolt.
OldBikers replied to lather's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
Why reuse a used crush washer, They're to be replaced for every oil change, cheap insurance for a leak or stripped oil pan, about $0.10 each. How would a magnetic drain plug not use a crush washer? -
Last May I rode around Lake Superior and we had cold, snow, rain, hail, fog and some sunshine 😁. The heated grips were a fantastic addition except I tried the 10 setting and nearly roasted my hands while wearing CorTech leather gloves. Settings between 2 and 5 worked quite well for most of the trip.

Listening to Audio when riding......
OldBikers replied to DavidS's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
I upgraded my SENA 20S to the 50S with the HD speakers when they offered a trade up. I have been very pleased with this setup the 50S is superior insound than the 20S and I listen to music at speeds of 80mph with radian ear plugs. Supposedly the Harman Kardan speakers are even better but I can't find them to try. -
Givi D2159S Shield for 2021+ T9
OldBikers replied to JustAnotherSquid's topic in Tracer 900 GT Discussions
I didn't care for the GIVI touring screen on my FZ-01, it produced a lot of turbulence and buzzing and it wore away the paint on the fairing. Replaced it with a Zero Gravity touring screen and found the right one. Now that I have a T9GT i find that the screen is in the same ball park as the Zero Gravity one, minimal turbulence and relatively quiet. I will save between $150 to $200 by not buying an aftermarket screen,😁 -
Tempted by the devil.

The black and gold is Killer. John Player Special livery. -
I vote for both. You can't beat the utility of having lockable cases on the bike for any purpose, long trip or just commuting. Also you can lock your helmet in either case and jacket which I find is useful when commuting. When touring I will add a 12L tank bag and a 30 L Motocentric tail bag to carry my shoes and Depends. I have the SHAD SH45 top case and stock Yamaha side cases.

What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?
OldBikers replied to yamaham's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
I installed Fren Tubo on my FZ-01. It was rather easy to install as there is no ABS on that bike. However, the rear brake line failed and locked the rear brake, it was the inner tubing that collapsed and wouldn't release the fluid from the caliper. That turned out to be a very expensive repair as I was on a trip to the Dragon when it happened. -
Tracer 9 GT Plus Coming to the U.S.
OldBikers replied to johnmark101's topic in Tracer 900 GT Discussions
^^ I like what you said. I traded in my perfectly outfitted FZ-01 with only 45,000 miles on it because I realize that as I get older (70+) I can utilize the nanny gear that comes on the new T9GT but can live without ACC and I really like the split dash. The new quick shifter would be nice not to reengage the cruise control after an up or down shift but until I got my T9GT I had no quickshifter for over 50 years. I also find the rider position is excellent and good for lots of miles, no need to drop hundreds of $ for a seat and windscreen. Just my humble opinion. -
Tracer 9 GT Plus Coming to the U.S.
OldBikers replied to johnmark101's topic in Tracer 900 GT Discussions
Sorry but at this time Yamaha will be exporting the 9GT+ next year, maybe. The 9GT will continue to have the split screen. -
Wow! $900 Oh boy! Three years ago I had a front flat on my FZ-01, we couldn't find where it was on the tire so I called my insurance Co. and arranged a tow. The flat bed came out and towed the bike 130 miles to my mechanic's it cost me $475. Funny thing was that it was a failed valve which was only $20 to replace.

Tracer High Level Mount Sat Nav GPS
OldBikers replied to 2WHLOZK's topic in FJ-09 Tracer 900 General Discussions
I have this mount and it is well made but fits a bit loosely. I fixed that by using foam weather stripping to fill the gap between the mount and the clamp. Works great.
