Front turn signal options

Anyone tried the flush mount turn signals? What brand? Thx

Proton 500. They are plug and play including a third wire for running lights, are bright as the sun, and have programmable blink patterns. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is they are white when not on vs the smoke or black of others. It's a small price to pay for having bright flush mounts that don't sacrifice visibility.

I've used these for the last 7-8 months. I'm happy with them.

I completed my Tenere signals, it took me the better part of an entire afternoon (with many breaks) to get them all wired up, but that's because I was a bit pedantic about getting the wire lengths to exactly match the stock signals.

---Update---
How to guide and pictures posted here: https://fj-09.org/thread/5388/super-tenere-turn-signals-basic
------

Using the resistors already on the Tenere signals worked fine.  The blinker speed is fast so the resistors must just be to prevent the LEDs from being overpowered.

Unfortunately, it's a horrible rainy day here so I don't have any pics of the bike yet - but holy crap these should be the stock signals on the bike.  They really fit it's overall aesthetic well.  Especially the rear.  I find a lot of aftermarket signals are too small.  Even thought the FJ is actually kind of small for a sport tourer, it has an imposing look to it, and I personally think a lot of small aftermarket signals look too dinky to fit the bike.  The Tenere signals are pretty much the same length as the stock pumpkins, just way sleeker.

Oh for anyone else that does this, to make things easier - when buying the front signals, just buy two lefts (2BS-83310-10-00) instead of a left and a right.  Unlike the stock signals, the lefts and rights are identical in design (there's no defined top or bottom).  However, the wiring on the right signal has and extra loop on which the resistors are installed, presumably because of how it routes to the wiring harness in the Tenere and that makes it a little more difficult to work with.

Nice! Glad to see it worked out for you. I realized about the time I had everything soldered and shrink-wrapped that I should have taken pictures of which colored wires go where - glad you figured it out ok!

If you haven't installed yet, be ready to spend some time doing it. The Tenere signals were a really tight fit on my stock side panels, and I wound up needing a screwdriver to get the rubber tabs compressed in the right way to finally get seated.

Yup, already installed just waiting for decent weather before I can take pictures.  Second overcast day in a row here.

The rubber on the Tenere signals is a much tougher rubber than the stock signals and it did indeed take some prodding to get them in the panels.

One questionable thing with my install is that I did not use plastic shields around the resistors that came on the Tenere signals from the factory.  I'm, pretty sure these are to protect from flexing around solder points and not heat.  I put some extra heat shrink tubing around the resistors to toughen them up a little.  If anything is going to break, it will be my crappy soldering...I probably should have just used butt splices.

Posted pictures in the "What did you do to your FJ today" thread: https://fj-09.org/post/62059/thread

After comparing the blinker rates to other videos of LED blinkers without a relay - they are definitely on par with those. So I'm not really sure what the resistors are for.

You can still clearly tell the lights are blinking, and if fact the faster rate seems to make them even more attention grabbing, so I'm not sure I'm even going to bother with a relay.

I actually don't mind the FJ-09 turn signals and installed a used set of fronts on the rear so I have running light front and rear (technically rear running lights should red). I then installed some really, really bright LED TS-RL "bulbs and a low-load LED TS relay (plug and play after switching leads in plug)

ok so I ended up ordering the Super Tenere front turn signals from Partzilla I can't wait to complete this mod. While I was at it I ordered my tail light from Blaster X, Yamaha 39L top case with back pad and inside bag and V Stream sport windscreen.

I have the same signals and am very disappointed with them. They are almost flat so there is very limited forward visibility and they simply aren't bright enough... at least they look nice.
As suggested previously, I am going to get the Proton signals, significantly brighter than motodynamic.

Sorry to have steered you wrong. (zzz) But hey they look nice.. ;) I ride in South Florida. Home of some of the worst and most aggressive  drivers in the US. Almost everyone here is from somewhere else. Central and South America, Mexico, Bahamas, BVI. Using you turn signals to broadcast your intentions isn't an optimal survival strategy.

They do look nice though... Am I right??? (rofl)

Based on your recommendation and an FZ forum I bought a pair from Tripageled for an FZ. They have a thin,  short post to attach them to the FZ but it will never work with our bikes.
1. Do yours actually fit in the slot the original signals used or do they sit on top?

2. How do yours attach to the fairing?

Thanks.

PS - they are crazy bright
