New member and new exhaust!

Hello from Texas! I haven’t seen anyone post on the Yoshimura Japan version of the R-77s exhaust system. Stainless steel piping, titanium muffler cover, carbon end tip. The build quality is slightly higher than Yoshimura USA (the welds are pornographic) and it has more traditional exhaust layout, which I prefer! According to the Yoshimura sales rep, only a two of these exhausts have been shipped to the US previous to mine. Took me about two months to get. Hope this was interesting! Happy Holidays :)

P.S. what’s the ideal iPhone picture size for uploads? I want to show more detail but can only add 2 large photos.

Merry Christmas and welcome @Tracerotops!  those are some beautiful welds for sure!  I could use another Christmas gift, maybe a sound clip?  and how much do they cost shipped here...beautiful piece.

Thanks! Shipping was free! Couldn’t believe it.. Full exhaust was $926 + $80 for the required bracket for installation on a tracer. Really surprised with the pricing. Not sure how to get the sound clip attached :( it won’t accept the file type..

Welcome @Tracerotops!  I’m out on the southwest side of Houston, so nice to have another member in the area.

That exhaust is a work of art, and I really like the more traditional canister layout.  I wondered about the saddlebag clearance as soon as I saw it...  guess it’s one or the other with this system?

Hey @texscottydand @rlambke19! You are both sharp-eyed and, sadly, correct. The system does not allow for installation of the OEM side bags, or I imagine any side bags that are too low or prone to damage from heat. But my original intention was to only have a top mounted bag so for me it was a non issue. I am happy to announce, the center stand does work, for those commenting that it didn't.

Is there a way to upload videos? I have a before and after record on my iphone which I would like to show.

Glad to hear there are other Houstonians here! I am near the energy corridor, so not too far by Houston standards :P

I went south for today’s ride, but get out west towards Fayetteville, Round Top, and Lake Somerville fairly often.  I’ll let you know next time I’m heading that way & see if we can connect for a ride.

I do the same rides! I usually go north of i10/ south of 290, but I just recently road to Brazos Bend state park which was really nice. I was looking around for info on brake upgrades when I saw a post by you and saw that you used to be an instructor! Would definitely love some riding tips if we ever meet up.

This should look really familiar then... :)

The Brazos Bend route is nice, but make sure to take the detour around the power plant.  It’s actually more fun than the big fast sweepers heading down towards the park.

Glad to have another FJ owner & forum member in the area.  6+ million people in the Houston Metroplex area, and I still don’t see any others out on the road.
