Bob K
I have made a few up grades on my 2020 900 GT . First was my version of the seat tilt mod , also put my Air Hawk seat pad on . Next was a bolt on side stand foot pad that made the bike set up a little & with a larger foot print . Next rubber covered foot pegs that are a little longer & not as slick . Today I installed a HeliBar adapter that brings the stock bars one inch higher & one inch farther back . I have not ridden yet with the pegs & bar adapter but on the center stand they feel great ! I can have some bend in my arms from any position on the seat, also standing on the pegs you don't feel you are going to fall on your head . This is a tall bike , I am 6 ft 1in , wear 34 X 34 Jeans . 1
Supporting Member fjrchuck Posted May 8, 2021 Supporting Member Share Posted May 8, 2021 Interestingly enough I have done all the same mods except the "seat tilt" one. The HeliBar adapter works great, now a perfect riders triangle! And yes, it is a tall bike while parked.......Enjoy it and keep the mods coming!! 😎

Airhawk Question: I tried an Airhawk but could not tune it to feel good. How do you inflate it so it provides comfort but does feel like a bouncy seat?? Supporting Member fjrchuck Posted May 8, 2021 Supporting Member Share Posted May 8, 2021 The short answer is.......less air. Experiment with the pressure and you will surely find the "sweet spot" I have one on my FJR as well and did multiple 6-800 mile days on an Alaskan trip. Couldn't have done it without my Air Hawk! 😁
peteinpa
I have one also. With an Airhawk less is more. Get ALL the air out then just a slight puff and try it.

To much air will hurt you & you don't feel planted on the seat .

What I done was three standard 1/4" flat washers under each side of the back tank mount. Then a piece of .225 thick gasket rubber slotted to fit the plastic base where the front seat rubber contacts . I used super glue to hold the in place on top of the plastic base fame .

Wintersdark
I've always wanted to try an Airhawk but never actually got one. I'm still damn curious, but even less willing to spend money on it now 😃

Had one on my DL1000 and LOVED it, but yes, too much pressure and it will bounce a bit. Sadly it didn't fit on my FJ so when I sold the DL the Airhawk went with it. 2015 FJ-09 / FJR touring bags / oil plug mod / Evotech rad guard / SW Motech bash plate / VStream touring windshield / Seat Concepts: Sport Touring / Vcyclenut ABS rings (speedo correction) / Cosmo RAM mount
