  1. Hi mate, I bought the genuine Yamaha tail tidy and flipped the mounting tabs for the indicators inwards so they tuck in nice and tight. It all fits as it should. I think it was expensive though.
  2. Yes it will flick everywhere! I would be using a heavy diff oil like 90w or 90w140 instead. I like them better than the spray on ones as they go nasty and tacky.
  3. Awesome thank you very much! Did they seriously just bolt it on with two standard Allen head bolts? Some assclown can just unbolt it and deal with the lock later...
  4. I am 5'9 Thanks mate, might have to give one of them a go then. Any particular model or part number?
  5. You have damaged the cam cover gasket and it is filling up the plug drain hole with oil. You’ll need to pull it off and replace the gasket. Hopefully the rubber isn’t getting chewed up by the cams.
  6. How tall are you matey? I have the same screen and find it didn’t work that well. Was thinking of trying this too. I have a cut down ‘not even enough to call a screen’ at the moment.
  7. Nice! And how do you like the new bearings? Notice any less head shake? -Skip Funny you should say that I actually did! But I did drop the forks through from flush 6mm. The nitron shock in the rear has been raised slightly too which also helped. Stable as now even on the windy country roads behind semi trailers.
  8. Fit some new tapered steering head bearings, new genuine pads in the front, new brake fluid front and rear and a fresh Michelin Road 5 on the front. I seem to be wearing front tyres out quicker than the rears. Must be my riding style because it was the same on my last bike. I’ll do the rear tyre in about 1000k’s when I relube the swingarm and linkage bearings.
  9. I do keep forgetting not everyone has my toolbox too. A top quality meter is one of my favourite tools. If you can figure out how to test it like Skip says by voltage it is pretty accurate and should show up any faults.
  10. Sorry I hadn’t read the other replies and it is very early and before my coffees so please ignore my double ups...!
  11. Rather than looking at the rev range try looking at the throttle position. And when you are adjusting the APS look very carefully at this range in the meter. Hopefully you will see a dead spot and that is your issue. It is possible the wiper in the TPS or APS is slightly dirty or damaged. Also water in the fuel is another common cause of that. (But not rpm dependent)
  12. Not yet, I was really surprised how much I was getting blown around with just a medium sized screen, you got a pic of how big that is handy?
  13. I’m commuting about 2 hours away for work at the moment, trying to get a screen that works, tried a few and none of them work with a 6’2” pilot. Cut down my el cheapo $26 screen to as small as the backing plate. I am now sitting in clean air which does a great job of holding the upper torso up whilst keeping weight of my wrists. It was pretty bloody cold though! Think I’ll be selling the Givi screen I just bought. I also had no more unwanted lane changes like I did last week in the winds.
  14. I made the trip out to my old workshop to teach them how to use the Flashtune software and did a few little changes to my maps, more engine braking and backed off the fuel curve from my last remap. I also adjusted the APS back a few degrees too. Fark me what a amazing difference! Smooth as butter in every mode. Would hands down have stopped me from needing a reflash... Still would have done it though! I can’t help myself! Also made some dirt bike handguards fit and made a plan for lifting the Givi screen I bought to try and get a little better coverage on the freeway. Oh and I picked up some Michelin Road 5’s to slap on my pretty blurple wheels when I get the chance! They look so good can’t wait to wear them out!
  15. Six foot zero. Great! I am 191cm, around 6 1 so hopefully similar results!
  16. Really interested in your opinion! I like the looks of that screen. I don't want to go the barn door route, and have been switching back and forth between the stock screen and nothing at all... Me too! So much so that I ordered one last night from MotoStorm, Italian company by the looks of it. How tall are you @Trambo ? I bought a $29 fleabay special screen that looks better but is much the same as stock, I'll give it the shorty treatment for summertime I think.
  17. Looks nice. But for the love of all that is holy - PLEASE cut those zip ties with a pair of flush cutters! You will thank me when you don’t slice open your wrist/arm/finger on a zip tie tang. -Skip Said like a true mechanic!! That was the very first thing I would do to a bike before doing a service on it...!
  18. Yes, I suppose that's true. I've been averse to hydraulic clutches ever since the clutch master cylinder failed on my VF700 Interceptor way back in 1991. I was riding in to work wearing my US Navy dress whites, and they looked a little less dressy after being doused in hydraulic fluid. That was the first and last bike I ever owned with a hydraulic clutch. It's a personal hangup, I know. I've definitely experienced a few clutch cable failures over the years, but none of them ever ruined my pants. Depends when it breaks and your definition of ruined pants! ? I already broke a genuine cable and then the replacement I made was on its way too, I do like the simplicity of cables but hydraulic is a nicer feel and lighter pull so I rather them now.
  19. That's true, but now you need to flush clutch fluid on the same interval as brake fluid. You've traded one kind of maintenance for another. Less than a minute with a vacuum bleeder.. good trade I say! ?
  20. I went through the hymec catalogs and found it all manually, I don’t have the list of parts anymore though. It was close to the Mt-09 kit but with a longer hose. And no I too paid through the nose for it! ?
  21. Yep, got it on my bike, love it! The clutch is very easy to modulate and is a lot lighter and smoother. Never need to worry about silly cables again! Make sure you get the longest lever they make, clears the switchblock a lot easier.
  22. Not just a Yamaha thing mate. They all skimp. Except for Tm dirt bikes, hand built and dripping with grease. But they have other issues like piss poor dealership support! Best off to strip all the major components early on in its life and get some grease in there. Everything will last a lot longer that way.
  23. New tyres always feel nice mate, it isn’t you imagining things. I have fit thousands and they always feel better. The only thing I will say about the pr4’s is they like a couple of psi extra than you would normally run. And they are brilliant in the wet even straight off the shelf when they are so called slippery..
