  1. Nice! I like the simplicity of white with black accents. 👍
  2. Unfortunately, starting over with the GT there is very little left to do, it already comes with everything. 👍
  3. I am the same way, I'm always asking myself "what can I do next?". I love working on it and personalizing it but short of painting it or powder coating the wheels, I don't have much left to do in the off season.
  4. I have to agree. I haven't liked any of Yamaha's color combinations since '16 or '17.
  5. What happened? Are you ok? If the bike is totalled, then a new GT makes perfect sense, it is already good to go with almost every upgrade you could have done to your old FJ.
  6. ^^I agree with this^^. The color TFT screen is pretty, but not $13,000 pretty. 2020 Tracer GT 2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT Sport Touring Motorcycle - Model Home 2020 Yamaha Tracer 900 GT Sport Touring Motorcycle

  8. Twisty roads = more riding comfort... Twisty roads FOR THE WIN!!! 😎
  9. There is a lot of good reading here. https://www.tracer900.net/search/?q=magura hydraulic clutch One other clutch option if you haven't considered it yet, - the Assist/Slipper clutch from the XSR and '17 FJ09 is a direct fit on the '15/'16 FJ09. I haven't compared the clutch pull from the Magura hydraulic clutch vs. the A/S clutch but I am very happy with the A/S clutch.
  10. The forks are different between the older FJ and newer GT, single active leg with rebound adjustment vs. rebound and compression adjustment. The biggest difference between the older and newer shock is remote preload adjustment vs. manual adjustment using a spanner wrench. Whether the shock itself is in any way improved is anybody's guess.
  11. That sounds like a great idea, early season sub-freezing weather has hit here as well. I have never been to New Mexico but Northern California has some ridiculously good riding, I try to get down there once or twice a year. Gotta watch out for wildfires though... 😩
  12. Suspension testing and set-up sounds like the perfect excuse for a mini vacation! 😎
  13. I have his forks as well (advanced option w/both legs activated with rebound and compression pistons) I REALLY wish he would just commit to forks full time because I would argue that for the money, you cant find better set up forks than what Matt offers. His work is outstanding but his turnaround time is definitely not. ☚ī¸
  14. The fun is just starting when you reach 5k on the tach. 👍 Once you get up into the "fun zone" the display should change to just show a smiley face. 😎
  15. Increasing the rotor size by 22mm would require the caliper spaced out 11mm, looking at how the pads ride on the rotor you "might" get away with a 10mm spacer. I don't know the exact length of the oem caliper bolt, (60-65mm?) just add 10mm. I got all of my parts from the group buy that Matt Patton set up, he did all of the leg work, measuring and sourcing bolts etc.
  16. I have my 3 heat levels set to 3/5/7. I have used level 2 a few times, but never needed level 3. These grips get HOT!!
  17. Yes, I too feel that the shock is the weakest component, I also have a Penske 8983 double clicker (ordered through Traxxion Dynamics) and it is a PHENOMENAL upgrade. You are going to LOVE it.
  18. Glad to hear that you are finally able to get the suspension upgraded. 👍 I have a buddy who also has an FJ that went the Stoltec route for his suspension, exact same parts. On a few different road trips this summer we swapped bikes and spent time riding mountain passes and canyons tweaking his settings, his bike feels great now. The ONLY thing missing from the Stoltec fork cartridge is compression damping adjustment but I'm sure that can be tweaked and fine tuned with different oil viscosities.
  19. Looks Good! 👍 I hope you enjoy it and give it as much praise as @wordsmith has.
  20. I have seen that photo posted before, I like it. Since its a double bubble type screen it should direct air up higher toward the top of your head.
  21. I don't know of any brighter option than the LED lamps it already has. Even if there was something brighter, I don't think it would be an easy conversion. Have you thought of aiming the high beam lower to match the standard beam and just run both lamps on at all time?
  22. A screen that small should almost completely eliminate noise and buffeting. Ever ride a naked bike? no wind protection but also no buffeting or wind noise.
  23. @norcal616, @Wintersdark Thanks for the info. very interesting. 👍
