  1. I installed mine recently. If you have any questions, just ask. Once you get the old lines removed, the new lines are a piece of cake to install.
  2. @dazzler24 - I just wanted subtle accents, so I used silver tape. I contacted CGD Graphics on Ebay, I had them cut me a sheet of 3mm silver stripes, the longest they could make was 24" long, which was plenty. 8x 24" stripes were less than $10 shipped. I also bought the reflective wheel decals from them.
  3. Agreed, it is a fantastic bike but beyond incremental changes over the years, it is a 17 year old design. It still works well for its intended purpose but in today's climate of never ending technology, emission standards and "keeping up with the competition", you either keep up or get left behind. I really hope Yamaha recognizes the FJR's legacy and adapts to the current market with a fresh update (like Honda's Goldwing) and not a forgotten memory.
  4. Good to hear that they are taking care of it. Are going to get a different replacement or just a full refund?
  5. Does the '19 MT09 have separate adjustment on the fork legs? compression on one leg and rebound on the other? My buddy did the Stoltec upgrade on his '15 FJ, it was a very nice upgrade. 👍
  6. Wow, that is one SEXY machine! It just screams hooligan! 😎 It still amuses me that they even bother with passenger accommodations.
  7. Yes, the service manager at my local shop is curious as well. He said most of their customers don't ride as much as I do so they haven't done a 2nd valve check on a CP3 yet. I will be sure to post my results.
  8. No, this will be the 2nd check. 1st time was at a little over a year ago @ 23K, all exhaust valves were tight, plugs looked fantastic and TB sync just needed the very slightest tweak. At that time, my mechanic suggested the 2nd valve check should be closer to 20K interval just to be safe. Based on the results next week, we will determine the next interval, +/-.
  9. I even have the Helibars riser (+1" up and +1" back) and the standard kit from Spiegler fit perfect. They have several rubber grommets on the lines and include bracket clamps and spacers for perfect placement of the lines.
  10. I'm really not understanding what is going on with Sargent getting the seat correct on the Tracer. I assume (i know, silly me) they have a donor bike like any other seat builder so they can get the dimensions and angles correct. Even this new revision that they did with the seat looks like they forgot to (or purposely decided not to) match the angle of the tank. I have several riding buddies with Sargent seats and they all fit the bikes angles/shapes perfectly.
  11. @johnakay - Sorry to hear that the seat didn't fit for you, have you already contacted them to get it corrected? So far, from reports on this forum, this seems to be an isolated case as everyone universally praises the seat in fit, finish and comfort. I would at least contact them and try to let them make it right.
  12. At least from those who have spoken up on the issue, it seems a larger margin of error in the Euro market. My GPS is hardwired so its on 100% of the time when I ride and my bikes display reads 1-2 mph higher than the GPS. Not really enough to concern me but it makes me wonder if my odometer is affected as well.
  13. I have to agree, its needs a little color separation and matching rim tape would do wonders. I'm not a fan of black tanks, panels or bodywork, I think there needs to be a bit more contrast from the black frame, engine, swingarm, wheels and tires.
  14. Its much easier to fix the color of your dream bike than settle for something out of spite.
  15. I don't have any knowledge of the FZ/MT09 forks to say whether there is any difference worth the time and effort. Once you commit to it though, you are going to want the specialty tools and knowledge to remove the cartridges, since the forks are 5 years old and everything is disassembled, you will want to change the seals and check the bushings, clean and change the fluid and install the correct springs for your weight. Personally, if I was going to invest in the tools and take the time and effort to do this project, I would want to make sure it was a SIGNIFICANT improvement.
  16. One thing to look for before adjusting the switch is that the plunger isn't stuck. When you press down on the pedal, a spring pulls out a plunger from the switch housing, actuating the light. Road debris, dirt, salt and corrosion can prevent smooth movement of that plunger, spray it down with some WD-40 or electronics parts cleaner and work the plunger in and out for awhile to loosen it up. Your rear brake switch will more than likely work much better.
  17. Glad to hear that you are doing ok. The off season, especially since the 2020 models are already announced, might be the perfect time to find a left over 2019.
  18. Enjoy the sunny weather! Those of us in cold, wet or frozen climates will just have to live vicariously through you. 👍
  19. While that price is below the listed $10,700 MSRP, it is still fairly high for the base model. My local dealer has a standard Tracer that he marked down to $8900, then marked down again to $8700 and there it sits while he sells every GT he can get.
  20. Any bike I have ever had, I always make 3 spares. I keep the main keyring with the bike, a spare key is always in my tank bag and the extra keys at the house in case something happens and someone needs to pick me or the bike up.
  21. Very True. I was just on the BMW website looking at the 1250RS, adding a few options through the "build your own" section quickly brought the price from $15,700 to $19K ($3150 select package) and that didn't include hard bags or navigation. The side bags and top box with inner bags are an additional $2500, the navigation system that is integrated into the handlebar controls with a smart mount is another $1000. Then you start with the personalized cosmetic farkle options...
