  1. You are giving people way too much credit for having common sense. Society needs theses "protect people from themselves" fail safes.
  2. Just curious, do other manufacturers not have the full level indicator? I have never seen a bike that doesn't have this, how would you know when you overfill the tank?
  3. I guess there could be bigger issues in life than having an annoying opening to put the fuel pump nozzle into... 🙄
  4. It was a slow day maintenance-wise, the only thing I accomplished was lubing the clutch and throttle cables.
  5. Here ya' go. On sale through Veterans Day.
  6. @OLDESTP - 2wheeldynoworks usually has a sale every holiday. Black Friday is coming up in a few weeks.
  7. The seats look great. 👍 I had the same issue with irritation on my inner thighs, I grip the tank with my knees so I had the front section narrowed, it feels great now.
  8. What are you referring to? the Clutch is on the right side and the stator is on the left. There are no covers in the photos, that is exactly how the 2015 bike is delivered from the factory.
  9. Yes, I really like the new styling, I wish this was available in the USA. Yamaha Tracer 700 Updated For 2020 Yamaha’s 2020 Tracer 700 gets an aggressive new look and updates to the...
  10. I was checking out a lot of the EICMA news today, I found this in one of the articles. “The truly special element of the RS 660 platform is the new parallel-twin engine. According to Aprilia, it is basically the RSV4 powerplant, minus the rear cylinders. Sound wild? We thought so too. Aprilia says this is just the first of an entire new lineup of motorcycles that will utilize this compact engine (we suspect the Tuono 660 will be next). Aprilia claims the forward-facing twin with its 270-degree crank will pump out 100 hp, which will be modulated through the same ride-by-wire system used on the superbikes.” 😎
  11. Tires, suspension and a slipper clutch... That's not a bad birthday, at all! 😎
  12. @baobei - You can always call 2wheeldynoworks and ask them about your issue. Usually Travis answers and he is very knowledgeable and helpful. They can at least give you some advise and get you started in the correct direction. Contact Us – 2 Wheel DynoWorks

  14. The brake lines are completely different, they are hydraulic lines, no moving parts or maintenance needed (except routine fluid flush). I recently replaced my brake lines with high pressure steel braided lines for better brake feel not because the lines were worn out.
  15. Couldn't agree more, I have ridden and lusted after many Euro models but cant bring myself to own one, I have riding buddies who own them and have heard way too many horror stories. My dream bike would be designed by Italians and built by the Japanese.
  16. Hope it didnt leave you stranded. If that was the original cable then you did much better than others, some reporting failure well before reaching 10k.
  17. Like @coachluciano said, its worth the wait. Not only is the clutch pull effort reduced but the slipper function is nice if you ride a little more aggressively. Approach a corner, kick down a gear and set corner speed (no brakes necessary) and power through, no driveline shock or wheel hop. When you get the parts, search the forum for the slipper clutch thread, I did a write-up with a few specific notes to watch for.
  18. I'm really curious to see how much lighter pull this has when used in combination with the assist/slipper clutch.
  19. I have seen that bike on a few motorcycle websites recently. Looks like a very fun toy!
  20. Even if all you did was to get the proper springs for your weight, you would have a much improved ride. The proper spring for you is based on your weight, if you call a suspension shop one of the first things they will (should) ask you is your weight, from there they will tell you what spring rate you need.
  21. I took a week long road trip down to that area this summer with a few buddies, riding everything from Happy Camp diagonally down to Reno! LOTS of high speed shenanigans! 👍
  22. In almost 3 years of ownership, I have ridden close to 45,000 miles on my '15 FJ. I reset my average fuel reading with each and every fill-up, I average around 43-47mpg. I have a buddy who also owns a '15 FJ and he gets very similar mileage to a tank. Your results of 26-32mpg while riding in B mode and seldom riding hard does indeed sound like something isn't quite right. I know that the manual says to replace the spark plugs at 8k but that is ultra conservative, even changing them at 23-25k mine have always looked and performed good on all previous bikes. I know several riders who double my interval. In the 3+ years of ownership, how has the bike performed? how is throttle response? how did the plugs look when you changed them, dry and mocha brown or wet and black?
  23. Its not entirely out of the ordinary to wait for a part from Japan. Most parts I can get within a few business days at my local Yamaha shop but I have had to wait 5-6 weeks for a part that's not in stock to be shipped from Japan. The reason that they (probably) didn't start working on your bike until the part came in is it would take up floor space in the service department and in some instances it would be double the work. If they wait until the part comes in then they can do all of the repairs and be done with it in one shot.
