  1. Ok...i'm convinced @superfist...my wife and I need this horn for our bikes. Thanks for sharing.
  2. i think i will be able to help you since i have both. both of them are 2016's and quite different in the power delivery. The versys, in my opinion would be the better choice as your first big bike...and it could even be your last. it is a really nice bike and very comfy. power delivery is very smooth and has more than enough to get you out and into trouble. I found that it rode nicer/smoother than my FJ09 also. there is a lot of room on it to for taller riders. not to fussy on the stock windshield though. 70 ish horsepower is not bad in a bike that weighs about 15lbs more than the tracer. i could go on but if you have any specific questions i'd be glad to try to answer them
  3. exactly what i have mastered too....now i don't feel so smart...lol
  4. So I went for my first ride yesterday with my new Kappa 2122DTK windshield. It definitely blocks much more wind than the stock screen but I now am getting some nasty buffeting. I'm 5'7" and the farther I sit back the worse it gets. I have seen these Puig clip on deflectors and wonder if anyone has used them on a Givi or Kappa touring screen and how were the results?
  5. i had the gold valves installed with new springs last year and have noticed a nice improvement also. rebound adjustment seems to be more noticeable than before and it does not dive down when on the brakes.
  6. nice find @denveryzf. i wish i could print some of those pages.
  7. i was just reaching for my bottle in my cabinet to take a photo and post...then i see you beat me to it. lol
  8. @captfire22 that Deere looks like it is in really nice shape..340 or a 440?
  9. you can always justify a purchase if there is great discounts....😉
  10. i know...but the free shipping helps and i think mine was on sale and was cheaper than getting one from Stoltec at the time. exchange rate and duty mess a lot of good deals up for us canucks.
  11. i picked up a penske 8983 from bayside performance in vancouver. ordered and set up to my weight and style. works very well over the stock one. as for the front forks, i had race tech valves installed with new springs and oil at mission cycle in angus...really stopped the dive and made the ride much nicer. i'm no racer but the bike feels so much more connected to the road now. I think i paid around 1200 shipped for the penske and around 800 for the race tech valves and installation ...cdn dollars of course accelerated technologies in buckhorn, just outside bobcaygeon, offers a whole slew of shocks and suspension services. I found out about them after i bought my stuff. hope this helps
  12. I have to repost this awesome pic of the "thumbs up" you spoke of. Great pic and beautiful reflection of Fay. Thanks for sharing.
  13. mine failed at 5 months...replaced under warranty. might have been the dealers fault if the battery was installed when assembled..not sure. replaced without issue at yamaha
  14. welcome from canada mikey!

Thanks for saying hi!  Be sure to also go to the forum and say hello too!

  15. mellow...which top box is that?? looking into getting one myself for some trips
  16. wow...not hot enough? my grips are so hot on 10 its nearly impossible to hold on to them with motorcycle gloves on ...i suspect like others say once you ride it, it will be much warmer. mine are set at 1, 3 ,10 as a side note...my heated brake lever on my snowmobile will burn skin raw within 2 seconds ...i freak out a lot of people when they grab it...lol
  17. another vote for Helibars...1" back and 1" up. cables and lines are all good
  18. i have read in the manual where it states not to use diesel grade oil...something in that particular oil. ...sorry when i see 15w40...i just assume diesel. if you look in your owners manual there is a chart with the different viscosities of oil and their temperature ranges. hope this helps
  19. its really not that hard...had mine done in about a half of an hour. just need a staple gun some firm foam. i only had to unstaple the front part so every thing still lined up and had enough vinyl to cover the small mound i made of foam...it is quite small....its all you need.
  20. I have a sargent seat and felt the same way about sliding towards the tank. What I did was pick up a sports seat foam pad, cut and shaped a small piece of foam that felt like it would keep me from sliding towards the tank. Then I pulled back the sargent cover and installed the foam piece and then stapled the cover back on. It made quite a difference keeping me from sliding into the tank. It also took me about 4000 kms to really break it in.
  21. Well I went ahead today and adjusted my APS while it was raining this morning. What a difference. No more jerkyness in STD mode and a lot less in A mode. My values in Diag 14 were 18-101 now they are set at 13-97 My values in Diag 15 were 14-101 now they are set at 12-96 What a nice easy cheap adjustment to make this bike even better. IF you were thinking of trying it, do it. Now this winter I will send out the ECU to be remapped. Until then this will have to do to finish off the season.
  22. Thanks for that info. My Penske is the exact same setup, and the knob also requires a wrench, my buddies Penske from Stoltec has a banjo bolt connection on the side of the knob mount. I'm not too happy with the reservoir mount though. Could be a more refined mounting system. Does anyone have any thoughts on that?
