  1. Went and shot some skeet. Used to shoot competition. Haven't shot much in years but close to the purdue university trap and skeet club now. 4 time shooting this year. Lows 50's here today so went through a tank of gas. Wiggled my way around the wasbash river. Did about 20 miles of gravel and dirt rodes on the factory tires still. Great day for December.
  2. Glad your ok. My fj was the first bike in bought that wasnt wreck by some one else. That looks like an easy fix. Just parts. If the bike handles fine. It wouldn't cost alot to fix. Less than 500 if already painted parts. Most of the cost with be the front fairing and head light. The other stuff is cheap. Ditch the factory hand gaurds. If you still want hand gaurds get after market. $0 if just removed. Get vinyl wrap for the side bags that match the paint. $50-75 You can buy protective covers for the motor to hide the rash. $100-150
  3. I mounted some cheap ones from cycle gear. It was a return with damaged packaging. So I got then for around $20. Put them on my givi crash bars. The rubber o-rings never stay put.
  4. Just last night I went to look at another motorcycle to resale in the spring. My wife threatened to leave me if I put more vechiles in the garage. Before we were married and had a kid. She didn't care how many vechiles I had in the garage.
  5. Our bikes are a smudge under 500lbs. Most tailgates can handle at least that or more. Even so. Split the weight on both wheels and your at 250lbs. And Im 250lbs and never broke a tailgate. I have seen 400lbs guys on tail gates as well. I have owned 8 trucks and drove many others for work. Broke the rusty lift gate on my craiglist find service truck with a 2000lbs electric motor. 1200lbs was fine. Also a quality spray on bed liner stiffens a bed up. There is a company here in indiana, i have bought products from. The sprayed a soda can and would it put under a wheel of a truck at shows to show the strength.
  6. I hand figured every tank till about 2500 miles and it was always darn close. 0.1 or 0.2 off. so I hand figure rarely now. you say your at 68mph. I'm at 78-80. over 75 I don't get the "eco" mode in the dash to light up no matter the throttle mode.
  7. This is the exact one I ordered. Still a Chinese product, but from a USA basee supplier. That way it only took a few days for shipping. The only instructions are the ones in the lisiting. Says it is only for the '15-'18 years Beak Extension For Yamaha MT-09 Tracer FJ 09 2015-18 Body style Front fender USA Type:Front Beak Extension Fender. For Yamaha MT-09 Tracer / Tracer...
  8. With the one I order, i had to remove to the front small phillips screws and replace them with the supplied screws. No drilling. Just finished right before I typed this.
  9. On interstate riding (over 75mph) I get better mpg in "A". less throttle input to get to the same speed. According the the dash read out. Under 60mph things probably change though.
  10. Rode to physical therapy for my bicep tendon surgery. (Came yesterday too for my doctor appointment)
  11. I start and end my day in "B" mode. I live on rough gravel roads so the latten throttle response is good. The intersection where the payment starts I will change to "A" depending if im running late or got a need for speed. If an average day it is in "standard".
  12. Rode the niken gt again. I rode the niken and niken gt in june. I want to buy one, probably will. Went to the indoor rraces Saturday. Rode 7 different bikes sunday. Tan tan 200, niken, versys 650, royal Enfield 650 interceptor and 500 classic, Africa twin dct and lastly a Harley breakout 114. Harley let u take your own route no guided setup. I got real silly with the Harley. That new 114 has so much torque. Did the same route royal enfield does, which was 18mins or so with a guided group. Did it in 8 mins with the Harley. Fun expensive bike.
  13. Take the fj. The h2 se sx, the one with bags sounds like something fun to ride.
  14. Worked at dealership for a while. When you aren't trading in and only selling. They give you nothing. It adds to the sales for inventory. And means cash money(profits) spent on something. not just loan payments on new vechile inventory. Especially if it is a brand they dont carry.
  15. Well I can ride. Plan on heading out Saturday morning. Any one else going?
  16. Funniest take on niken styling yet, for sure.
  17. Any body making to aim expo. Yamaha has a big booth there it seems https://aimexpousa.com/ I would like to make it, but I dont know if I can. I had surgery on my arm at end on August. Will find out this week if I can ride. Never been, listened to podcast of ppl talking about being able to demo every motorcycle from the manufacturers. Would love to ride the niken again. And havent been on the newer tracer to see how much better it is. Thoughts?
  18. Been in the new house a year now. Always lived with well water. Never had a new house and some reason ppl dont put filter in the house and just have crappy water and sediment issues. So every house I have owned I have to install them. Well the cheap guy I am, been waiting for a deal like this. Found a under the sink reverse osmosis system for $60 NIB on Facebook Marketplace. So I rode the bike 30 mins east to get it. By far not the largest thing I have ever put on a bike. But the squarest for sure. Lol. Did 75mph no problem.
  19. Had the x-grip now have this. Much better
  20. GIVI Trekker Series GIVIUSA.COM Trekker series - GIVI have ventured into the adventure touring market... 33 for the side and have a 52 for the top box
  21. Sorry to hear it. It always sucks. I would suggest the same as bowlin01. A motor slider would cover and protect at the same time and be replaceable. They are less intrusive then bars or a cage. But I would go with a brand name, that way the plastic inserts can be ordered later and can be found easily.
  22. I have the givi and never hit the bags with my boots. You can seen where they sit on the bike.
