1. Very nice work and a great idea but i can't help thinking about the potential damage that metal lip could do to you in a head-on crash as it is basically a razor blade.
2. The 2nd bullet point on the box says they come in reflective or fluorescent finish
3. In Europe it's not cars that are killing bikes but scooters. Specifically scooters like the T-max and X-adv that funnily enough cost more than the Tracer, and, have more extras as standard than the Tracer. The new T-max DX comes with electrically adjustable windscreen, heated seats, keyless ignition all as standard. People want economy and comfort, and since Europe has major traffic/parking issues scooters are a lot more desirable.
4. If you are doing a simple red stripe don't buy those as they are quite difficult to align. You can buy rolls of rim tape that come with an applicator tool. Super easy and shouldn't take you more than 5 mins each wheel as they are 1 piece. The tool just rests on the rim so the tape remains equally spaced in the wheel. It also separates the sticky backing from the decal as you apply it. You can see the roll in question and how the applicator works in the pic i attached. 1 roll should do an entire bike. Just make sure you clean the rim properly before application using alcohol I would only recommend rim tapes that come in multiple parts when they have graphics.
5. "Rumble" yes; "Rumble of speed" LOL I actually like the look of the livewire if I am honest but it does seem to be unreastically priced
6. Black is negative, red positive. Original terminal leads point in towards the bike according to the manual (this is from a 2019 GT model)
7. Is the sound present even with the ignition off?
8. Just checked the Conti website and it seems that for the Tracer GT only the ContiMotion is approved
9. Enjoying the Mediterranean December sunshine
10. When you changed the tyres were the wheels balanced? And have you checked that the rear wheel is straight in the swingarm? As said already I would also check the tyre direction. The OP seems to give the impression that prior to the tyre change they didn't have any issues at this speed so if that is the case the issue shouldn't be related to the hand guards or weight distribution
11. Givi have a separate listing for the GT. It seems to be in production now (until a few weeks ago it was still in manufacturing. I personally believe the fittings are identical but most vendors are playing it safe and not releasing models for the GT until they have tested the fitting to ensure it is correct (which is the right way to do things). So far, from what I have seen on the manufacturer websites, based on model numbers the following seem to be interchangable: [ul type=disc][*]Sw-motech Crashbars[*]Radiator guards[*]Akropovic exhausts[/ul]
12. I honestly find the front brakes amazingly powerful so i personally wouldn't call them underwhelming in any way
13. Do you have a side shot of that fender with the indicators installed?
14. You don't have gallons until empty but you have litres used which should serve the purpose
15. Funnily enough the Phantom Blue model available in the EU has a painted nose and handguards.
16. I can assure you that niggle is most definitely a word To be fair the BMW S1000XR is indeed a much better motorcycle but to get it with the same extras as the GT you are looking at almost double the price in Europe (around +80%) so it really is not comparable to the GT. As @fddriver2 pointed out I think you need to look at similar priced machines for comparisons
17. That is my plan. Givi seems to give good all round protection My 2 cents on the various brands looking at designs are: [ul type=disc][*]SW-motech bars which are already available for the GT and believe they offer little to no protection for the lower parts of the bike. [*]Touratech bars are just f'ugly and have the same issue as SW-Motech[*]The Heed look good but not as clean as the Givi. They seem to be a mix of Givi and SW-Motech[*]Fehling offer good lower protection but nothing up top. I worry that in a slide the bike may flip onto the tank.[*]Unfortunately the American brands are just retardedly priced for those of us in the EU[/ul] @happyrider - Did Givi say when we are likely to see the Givi bars on the Market
18. In todays world or youtube, facebook, etc manufacturers don't need to rely on magazines to build up a hype. The reality is that in order for manufacturers to continue allowing journalists to gain access to their bikes they can't be too critical.
19. Part 2 will start with "I stand corrected; it was the windscreen and not the wind"
20. I think it is due to liability. Until they have had a version of the bike and tested it they won't market it as compatible which is the way it should be in all honesty.
21. Are you referring to SW-Motech, or Givi? I believe the Givi should protect the lower parts.
22. In all fairness the truck in the background has a trailer attached so I say it passes
23. https://fj-09.org/thread/7422/engine-bar-fixings
24. I would have thought so but most manufacturers list products as not compatible. I believe it is also due to clearance for body panels which have changed in shape.
25. There is a guy on here who just installed the fehling bars. A lot of manufacturers are still producing them for the GT (I am waiting for the Givi ones personally)
