  1. Thanks for this. I downloaded the pdf file for free. I was not asked to pay anything.
  2. My manual says to CHECK at 6k miles and replace every 12k miles
  3. A lot of times I ride fully loaded with side cases, top case and wife. All this with the OEM front shocks and rear spring with full preload. I know we're a bit over the weight limit, but have never encountered problems. Most important thing is to know how the bike feels and then act accordingly. This applies to breaking distance, cornering, etc. Also, I fixed a kickstand shoe and this decreased the angle of the bike when on the side stand. Also, my wife gets on the bike after I do. To mount, she stands on the passenger footrest and swings her leg around and gets past the top box without much effort.
  4. As said - you can change the mode while rolling, but only with the throttle completely closed. The different modes are the result of a change in the mapping of the ECU.
  5. I am considering installing a brake light modulator on my 900GT (2019), but am worried that it may interfere with some of the bike's normal functions. For example, activating the brake disengages the cruise control. Any experiences from you guys would be appreciated.
  6. And don't touch the front brake while turning as it tries to straighten the bike.
  7. I believe that the Tracer 900 GT (year 2019 onwards) will give you a fault indication which can only be turned off by computer. Mine is a 2019 model and haven't tried it, but there are other treads on this topic.
  8. The sat-nav mount is a nice setup, with a much better line of sight of the GPS. The price is also great. What I'm worried about, however, is the force exerted on the plastic windscreen mount. My Garmin Zumo is quite heavy and with the arm that attaches to the ball mount there will be additional leverage on the windscreen mount. Another thing - there is discussion on this forum that a GPS mounted directly above the instrument panel would be affected by interference from the panel. Has this been experienced by anyone?
  9. It will open the throttle butterflies. This flooding is not uncommon on the Super Tenere, and the 'fly-by-wire' system is the same. Many members on the Super Tenere forum resort to WOT and in most cases it works.
  10. Try WOT for say 7 seconds to clear any flooding. If it still doesn't start, do another WTO after a couple of minutes.
  11. I've been on a few longish trips (6 days or so) and will be going again on the 4th September. Usually I'll be fully loaded: 2 up, side cases and 50L top case. I'll be at the manual's load limit (possibly very slightly over). Front forks full preload (no lines showing) and back shock full preload as well. The bike handles well and I never had an issue. It will be a bit top heavy, but what can I expect 🙂 ?
  12. I removed the stock bracket and used the supplied bracket fixed to the bolt close to the fork tube. The puts the supplied bracket vertical and the soundbomb mini facing downwards
  13. I went with that approach too. SW Motech fog lights mounted on GIVI bike specific mounts. My reasoning was that if I ever topple the bike, the lights wouldn't be crushed. I do admit that I prefer lights to be more spaced out, but there's always a compromise between the various factors.
  14. Kickstand Plate Side Stand Pad Enlarger Blue For YAMAHA TRACER 900 gt Tracer 900gt mt09 mt 09 2014 2017 2018 2019|Covers & Ornamental Mouldings| - AliExpress Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com It costed me €13, including postage to Europe. I have no complaints whatsoever.
  15. I assume the weights are stick-on. You may wish to warm them with a hairdryer (NOT heat gun) to soften the glue. Are you sure they were factory-installed?
  16. I wouldn't up any fuses, especially more than double the rating (from 2 to 5 amps). The fuse rating and wire thickness are related. Increasing the load on a wire beyond what it can handle can burn the wire.
  17. I used silicone and it failed. I used superglue and it held. It's been fine for several months.
  18. Well LizN, I'm not surprised that you were shocked that something came along to replace your FJR. I was exactly in the same situation when I replaced my Super Tenere last Summer. The S10 was proving to be too heavy for me. When I got the Tracer 900 GT the comparison was a Humvee vs. BMW. After a few months I was really blessing the Tracer and I have no regrets.
  19. The manual for the GT warns that "if the drive chain slack is more than 50 mm (on the centre stand), it can damage the frame, swing arm and other parts"
  20. I have the this. Very easy to install. Very nice looks.
