  1. Installed today. Look good, fit well and suit the bikes style. Do they work ? Don't know yet, not ridden but can't see why not. More protection from cold and rain I hope. 👍
  2. Thats a fair point from an experienced wet weather rider. 👍 In my part of the world, the roads are a disgrace. Potholes, gravel, diesel and farm crap everywhere, wet roundabouts/islands are simply dangerous for bikes. I know many rider's who only ride when roads are dry and have very little wet road experience. Add in all the hazards and it's high risk. Tyre tread patterns will differ on their effectiveness of shifting water, but these issues tend to be more noticeable to the experienced rider. Without any doubt, on my local roads in wet conditions, riding smoothly and well within the grip limits of your tyres is the only sensible way to go.
  3. Its the first bike I've had where my boots catch the pillion pegs. Horrid, they came off many moons ago. 👍
  4. Imo, your greatest allie on wet, greasy roads is not any specific tyre, but being very, very smooth. Easy on power, easy on brake, smooth is the magic word, especially in the wet.
  5. Got my handgaurds this week, going on tomorrow. Before and after pic's to come. 👍
  6. Renewed my membership, now that year did go quick. Keep up the good work fellas.
  7. @wordsmith has the mt 09 sp. He's had tracers aswel. He's a gent who may be of use here. 📣
  8. For me, the choice would be down to luggage carrying requirements. If a tail bag is as big as you ever need, fixed under seat, thats fine with mt. If you need bigger roll bags, then grab rail or small rack might be needed on the mt. Tracer has rear grab rails for strapping down bags standard. Possibly, just go with best deal, both bike's will work and both bike are brilliant. 👍
  9. Another thing to bear in mind, I'd only had the tracer a few weeks, was filling up on sidestand not paying full attention (sexy lady near-by ) and the pump didn't auto shut off. Petrol everywhere, I got pump back and got out of the way, not being sure of how the petrol and hot engine/exhaust would get on. Luckily, no fire. Told the attendent what I thought of his pump, straight home and a good wash down. Luckily, all good, but I would never fill up sat on bike. However, my mate does it all the time and he's an ex mod bike cop. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  10. I'm a sideside stand up filler...Have to get off to pay anyway. Not sure getting a bit more in makes a lot of difference, I will be filling again before I'm on fumes, sometimes playing safe, depending where I am.
  11. These work aswel. 2L Measuring jug with flexi spout and lid - Oil Fuel small pouring jug 2 Litre Helping anyone out where we can. We also have a full range of...
  12. I came from a ktm 1290 and in the "playing field" of 0 - 100 mph, the difference in the two bikes isn't as big as you would expect, considering 115 vs 173. Bhp ish. 115 is plenty for the UK roads for sure. 👍
  13. Anybody tried any.?? Pyramid Handguard Extensions - Yamaha Tracer 900 18-20 Pyramid handguard extensions have been designed specifically...
  14. I always feel that these mirror threads are the wrong way round. You would think, wind blast should tighten not loosen. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Not all flip front helmets are legal to ride open face as many will know. I bought the Shark evo one 2 so I could if I wanted. However, I don't, but it is very handy in many other ways. I like them. 👍
  16. I wouldn't hold your breath for this event taking place. The Welsh TT went tits up and now we got covid aswel.
  17. I'm of the belief, as long as you "rag" your bike enough, it don't matter which fuel you put in.
  18. Yep, definitely go for the tank ring quick lock system, so quick and easy on and off. Wouldn't have it any other way now. 👍
  19. Hi Andy, glad your enjoying the bike. During the Welsh ban I had a few trips down your way. Malvern and the Wye Valley area has some great roads. Clee hill, Tenbury also. On bike, all I've changed is a Piug short sports screen, Yamaha tail tidy and rad guard. Yep, cracking bike. 👍
  20. Whilst on side stand, have a good look at centre stand pivots, make sure all is fixed good. Could it be bent a little, ?
