  1. It needs to lose some weight IMHO, I hear plenty of other niggles from owners as well......and damn it's pricey.
  2. Well done Yamaha, I'll go against the consensus here and say that I am overall quite impressed. Very obvious that Yamaha is taking this platform seriously for the long haul, still have no regrets "at this point" on the purchase of my very fine, FUN and sweet running 2020. It's most certainly more on par with the Multistrada in terms of features, but of course in a much more reliable and longer lasting package......I expect Kawasaki to upgrade the Versys 1000 soon.
  3. 4000 miles sparkplug interval, I thought it was 24,000 along with the valve adjustment?
  4. Yup EB has a plug and play solution, used the very excellent kit on my last V-Strom.
  5. I like the bags if larger than the current, would consider buying them if plug/play "which should be".
  6. Just imagine how much better/easier it would've been on the Tracer......had you had more off pavement worthy tires.
  7. The GT is limited, I didn't know that? I've been 110 and it got there quickly, didn't appear like it was about to be limited.
  8. I REALLY like that, let us know if any differences in air turbulence is noticed.
  9. Any opinions/experiences on whether I should raise my fork tubes 5mm or not, and if so wouldn't that potentially make the front end even more skittish?
  10. Why do we assume the air intakes are fake?
  11. I recently dialed down both the front and rear pre-load from the previous recommendation of Dave Moss that I had been riding with, that has really helped with the instability I was having. I do agree there is perhaps something up with the OEM tires that induces a wobble, hope to wear them out quickly and get upgraded. I don't notice any bad buffeting from the screen, but agree it could be a helluva lot better and more aerodynamic........loving this bike by the way.
  12. Standard mode seems just fine on my 20, haven't really noticed any fueling issues at any RPM to be honest.
  13. I assume you lose the running lights option with the LED signals, from the dual filament incandescent bulbs?
  14. Hey Rick it’s “Big B” good to see ya here my man!! Yeah I might just do that, looks very much like the best bars imho for my wants and they look very unobtrusive as well.
  15. Maintenance most certainly isn’t extensive on these bikes, matter of fact you have the major service at 24k miles but up to that “realistically” that’s about it other than perhaps brake fluid flush and refill. Keep it all simple stupid, mind your chain and stay up on fluid changes.....ride the hell out of it. Others might disagree with me, but hey that’s how I approach it is all, plenty in service or user manual which is so overkill imho.
  16. Wish was a good way to get these in the states, doesn't appear to be a US distributor?
  17. Perfect machine for PA, I sure love riding up there.
  18. They are far from ideal off pavement bikes anyways, I don't care what anyone says to dispute otherwise. There will always be a compromise with any bike, but the low ground clearance, weight, budget suspension, and the fact you'll have to pick up the pig when it drops.....there are much better choices out there. I've also had a DR650 and it was a hoot off pavement and better on pavement than you would believe, few mods to a bike like that and very much what I consider a true dual sport machine. Of course new offerings from KTM can scratch that itch as well, they know a thing or 2 about off pavement capable machines.
  19. Welcome, no buffeting for me but yeah it's noisy wind.
  20. Nothing uglier than new KTM headlights, so these aren't so bad. LOL
  21. Ah that makes sense, sometimes I forget that IN runs all the way North like that.
  22. I always ran a Tuturo chain oiler on my V-Strom, works amazing but is for sure more messy than "most" spray on lubes, ran 75W90 synthetic gear oil and it did fabulous. Kept it from the Strom, but not sure I want to install on the Tracer.
