  1. I was just up there in PA a few weeks ago riding, beautiful state you have there....welcome to the forum and the world of the Tracer/FJ. I won't wait quite as long for the valve interval, likely will do at around 20K miles.....peace of mind eh?
  2. LOL wasn't referring to you by any means, but the good thing is that it will work for "everyone". So many myths and bad information/assumptions out there still about synthetic oil, the truth is that it has longer intervals, protects better at start up, longer/better film retention......and NO it's not more slippery. But yes sir do what works for you, but there is honestly zero reason to not switch to synthetic the day you bring your bike home. Some of the very worst advice we can be given is by a service person at a dealership, I do most of my wrenching but have a fantastic local independent shop as well. Hope you are enjoying your new steed as much as I am mine, have a feeling this is a keeper for a good long while.
  3. Yeah I'll be installing a front fender extender much sooner than later, will likely do the same in the rear eventually.
  4. Meh that's a very old wives tale......Ducati's, Aprilia, and BMW's come from the factory with synthetic as do many cars now. Your engine is most certainly broken in before 600 miles, and your bike was also "very likely" redlined at the factory on a dyno too. The reason most Japanese bikes don't come with full synthetic comes down to cost, that and why dump out perfectly good expensive synthetic oil at 600 miles?
  5. UPS man delivered my Motul 7100 oil and K&N filter yesterday, should be at 600 miles by end of weekend.
  6. The Puig sounds like a great solution for me, and wow the price is right too!!
  7. I can't be without my tank bag, I keep too many easily and quickly accessible items in there. Do miss my top box for sure, hope to remedy that soon once I figure out what I want.
  8. Awesome......thanks for that link!!!!
  9. I've always gone with the aluminum tape for that, but yeah good quality electrical tape like from 3M works as well.
  10. Yup hard to go wrong with the Motech or Givi tank lock systems.
  11. Givi tanklock system and bags, I'll NEVER go back to straps or magnet bags.
  12. Yeah I was just being friendly.
  13. I personally like the offerings from Sena, 3 of my main riding buds just switched to Cardo from their Sena's......they "somewhat" regret it.
  14. Few really good threads already about this, good luck with your quest.
  15. Sounds like you had too much air in the Airhawk, there should be very little at all......should not ever have a floaty feeling.
  16. Love my Aerostich Darien light, totally waterproof and flows more air than you would expect it to.
  17. Love my AD1 britches, once they break in they are amazing......no easier overpants to get on/off either other than perhaps the Darien.
  18. BINGO......my exact gear set up as well, love my Stich stuff!!!!
  19. FJR and Super Tenere shaft systems are pretty much reliable as an anvil, same goes for the V-Max.
  20. Lee Parks deerskin gloves for me, literally fit like a glove and dry out and still remain soft when soaked.
  21. Currently ride with a Nolan X-Lite and a Scorpion AT950, must say I'm quite the fan of both.....in particular that Scorpion.
  22. Well I have to figure this out one way or another, as this is gonna be my long distance touring machine.
  23. I know right? LOL Nah I am sure that in time I will upgrade the seat and for sure the windshield, but "so far" this is the best off the showroom floor bike I've ever owned.
  24. Seems to be one of the better stock seats I've ever ridden on or owned, not bad at all with my Sheepskin pad on it either. Butts are very subjective of course, but IMHO it is far from sucking.
