  1. Yeah that's excellent lube as well, right up there with Dupont chain saver IMHO.
  2. I apply lube with a surgical sponge "yeah I have access to such a thing due to my job", I liberally spray down the sponge with lube and apply to the chain with saturated sponge on all sides while spinning the wheel......you cannot lubricate a chain any better by spraying directly.
  3. It puts moisture in your crankcase, doesn't boil off in the oil due to not getting up to temp. Always best to let the engine sit unless gonna ride or drive it, just keep that nasty ass ethanol at bay. Also takes alot of CCA's to start an engine and not allow the stator to charge the battery back up, but regardless moisture is never good in a crankcase.
  4. NEVER scrub or clean the chain, just give it a wipe down on the centerstand with an oily rag. IMHO "and I've tried most all", there is nothing better overall than Dupont chain saver, all we need is some roller and side plate rust/corrosion protection along with some temporary friction protection. WORST thing you can do is scrub or clean an O ring or X ring chain with a brush or any kind of cleaner or even diesel fuel, that lube needs to stay between the plates and the rollers. To be honest there is nothing that works better overall than gear oil, but that is messy and smells like ass. Keep it simple stupid, don't overthink it and don't succumb to so much bad information out on the web........
  5. What......you are in Indiana, there is no bike winterizing in Indiana!!!!! Just fill tank to the brim and add some Stabil Marine, keep on tender and DO NOT start unless you are going for a ride. Here in central Ohio I ride all year, if it's above or near 40F and the roads are dry and clean.......oh bet your ass I'm riding.
  6. I'll have no regrets no matter what technological changes occur with the new GT, I am quite smitten with my 20 and looking forward to wearing her the hell out.
  7. I most certainly didn't buy this machine for mileage, regardless it's still better than 90% of cages on the road.
  8. Sales manager told me nothing NEW in the works for the Tracer line in 21, perhaps he was right?
  9. The plastic master cylinder reservoir makes sense, hell that's what KTM, Ducati, BMW use and they are not cheap bikes.
  10. Yup but like it's been said....this isn't the MT-09, that's a hooligan bike and not a good sport touring bike.
  11. A mode and TC off......does it no problem .
  12. Other than perhaps wanting a slight bigger TFT display, I am quite fond of my 20 GT. The IMU is nice and all, but most certainly not something which I am that excited about, almost bought a new 20 V-Strom 1050XT and it has that technology. I'm sure whatever Yamaha does with the Tracer will make it even better, if I enjoy my 20 as much as I have a feeling I will......by the time I want another, who knows how much better it could be? I doubt they will upgrade the front spring and rear spring rates, as that is the crux of most any bike from the factory anyways.
  13. Love Corbin seats, will be high up on my list for a replacement.
  14. Rick makes good stuff and stands by his products, I'm sure will be going with this kit sooner than later.
  15. Not meaning to sound like a smart ass, but do you also run Yamaha oil in your GT or whatever other OEM oil for the particular bike you own at the time?
  16. Been running K&N oil filters for years on multiple bikes with ZERO issues, now running them on my new GT as well.
  17. Well.....I made a small adjustment to the clutch lever free play, and a fair amount of adjustment to the shifter linkage by bringing up the shifter a bit higher. What I got was a DRASTIC improvement in my overall shifting, didn't have a single issue on my ride today and the QS is now smooth and not banging at all like it was.
  18. I just moved mine to the high mount, feels better than the low mount and is a bit more leveled out.
  19. Plenty of great connector options, so it's not a hack job. I don't make changes to my bikes and take much consideration of who might have the bike next, but yeah I do tend to do things right no matter what I've done.
  20. I have a pic from when we could actually park behind the falls, sad to see they've done away with that option now.
  21. I'll likely be going with PR5 or Angel GT when the time comes, the 222 are not awful.......nor are they good however. LOL
  22. One of my favorite areas to ride in the country.
  23. Could always cut the wires going to that connector and use whatever you like to connect them with your gadget of choice, I've done that on more than a few bikes I've owned.
  24. I previously owned a 2005 and 2006 1000, went with the 650XT model new back in 2015. The 650 is obviously better off the beaten path, but yeah the OEM suspension and brakes are simply awful.
