Lucky you. I had to finish my riding season month ago when I broke my hand.

Black / silver Tracer parked in Port Dover today (Sunday, 31st of October) shortly after 1 pm. About half of an hour later another dark colour FJ09 / Tracer (couldn’t tell from the distance which one) at the same parking lot.

It’s been 1.5 months…

Actually maximum level mark is right on the top of the glass and not as you marked it with red lines.

Turn the ignition key on and off 2-3 times and then try to start it. On today’s ride I stopped for a coffee. After about half of an hour I jumped on the bike. Ignition on. Turning but not firing up. 2 turns of the key on and off it started. It’s been not the first time. Perhaps 5-6 times within a year of ownership and 43 000km. Disappointing. The same happened maybe 2 times in my 10 years of owning 13 V Stroms. Just saying.

Took her for a ride and couldn’t believe the difference. Like day and night. So smooth and quiet again. I didn’t even realize until first stop that I wasn’t wearing ear plugs 😀

It is time to check valves lash check on mine too. You’ve done once already right? Where have you got shims?

At 50 000km replaced OEM chain drive with this DID 525 VX3 gold and black.

Grinding paste eh? Personally I know V Strom owner that never cleans the chain. Religiously lubricates it every fill up though. On his previous 3 bikes (2x650 and 1000) he got between 70-80 000 km on each of them. Personally I clean the chain perhaps 2-3 times a year and just replaced OEM one on my 2017 today, after 50 000 km (43 000 km since I put it on road 20th of October last year).

4 years and 50000km on my 2017 and so far so good. I guess you are not riding enough😀

Black Tracer GT just North of intersection of Hurontario & King around 4.40 today. I was on blue FJ09. 15 minutes later couple on grey FJ09 just North of Hurontario & The Grange. 5.30 blue FJ09 on Hockley Valley Rd.

Perfect riding conditions today and so many bikes on roads but only spotted one FJ09. Blue one on Hockley Rd around 4.30 I think. I was on blue FJ09 as well.

And me too. No modulator though.

Couple on grey FJ09 today (Sunday) on the intersection in Belfountain. 2 c’clock. My blue one was parked on the side of Mississauga Rd.

And silver Fj09 again yesterday (Monday). This time on 503. In company of white V Strom 1000 and one more bike. I was on blue FJ09.

I’ve had similar problem on more than couple occasions. (2017 FJ09). What I did? Turned the ignition key 2-3 times on and off and it fired up.

Silver FJ09 last night (Wednesday) around 7.30 riding east with few other bikes on Hockley Rd. I was on blue FJ09

Few months later (Sep 1st today). Most of the riding season gone and no single Southern Ontario Meetup…

Grey Tracer GT today (Saturday) in Haliburton around 2.30. About 2 hours later Silver 2016 FJ09 and black Tracer GT. Nice chat with the owner of FJ.

I own 2017 as well which I purchased back in October 2020 with OEM cases. First think I did I sold them. They look nice but are kind of useless. You can fit much more in the same 22l Givi/Kappa cases and they have top opening. Having Givi quick lock racks I can remove or install them in a minute and they are good for small or big cases as well as support for soft bags. And of course you can use them on any other bike (with proper racks as mentioned above). Much more universal in my opinion.

If you on stop it doesn’t matter if you have radiator guard or not.

Low cost insurance comparing to the price of radiator. In fact you can get one like mentioned above for half of the Amazon price - Ali Express.

Red Fj09 with full luggage in Belfountain today at 1.15. My blue was parked on the side of Mississauga Rd.
