  1. Lol i looked at those this morning but the shipping rate to Canada was a deal breaker for me. I hope they work for you. I ordered (and installed) those on my FJ. Easy process and good upgrade. I don't remeber paying a ridiculous amount for shipping/taxes to the US.. hopefully it won't be bad for Canada either.
  2. Had mine done at my dealer and they gave me 0 trouble... less than a year later I started getting cam chain noise again. Put the APE manual tensioner in and now its quiet. If you are suspecting cam chain tensioner issues, I would skip the TSB and put a manual tensioner on.
  3. I will give a spray if I can find some. My FJ is less than 1600 km in and barely 7 months old stored in my garage over winter. I think this is good advice, but wasn't required for my install (Akropovic)... some advice I have is, dont over torque the nuts onto the stud.. they will bend.
  4. I did it in blue following your advice and I like it very much! The Shad cases are also ready but did not mount them today. I already did the rim with reflective tape and it match pretty well. Nice, looks good! It should have come that way from the factory IMO..
  5. Come on guys.. let's keep this thread going... Next topic was your FJ with another Yamaha.. how about a picture of your FJ with any other motorcycle..
  6. @jeremlab its 1/8" 3M Striping tape... I just ran it along the edge of the seam where the "carbon" panels on the side cases are. Free handed it and cut it with an exacto knife... less than 5 minutes. I'll see if I have a better picture of them...
  7. I'm interested to see how the 45 degree limit to the lean angle will play out.. Not that many riders will go past that on the street but in theory could limit maneuverability. I would like to test ride one just to say I did.
  8. ...and I'll go with this theme.. picture of you FJ with an FZ or another Yamaha to make it a little easier.
  9. OK, next target: bike (and if possible its rider) adjacent to/ overlooking a large body of water - lake, ocean, etc. NOT a small puddle left after cleaning the bike! LATER EDIT: Whoops - sorry! Reading back through this fun Thread I see that koth442 put up this target on April 28th. But maybe leave it in anyway...? @wordsmith I'll go with it...
  10. I hope this pic qualifies! It was taken on the News South Wales/ Queensland border (eastern Oz) about 350km (say 210 mi) from my home in one (northerly) direction, but over 14,400km (say 8600 mi) from home in the other direction. I was nearing the end of a 14,700km counter-clockwise solo circumnavigation of Oz on my BWM GS, for which the FJ-09/ MT-09 Tracer is a pretty good (if smaller) substitute. You must present a new idea for someone to post a picture of..
  11. Sigh... one day I will participate in this thread hahaha
  12. I found that the Traxxion syringe worked better with the plunger seal well lubed (remove + dip in oil)... and even then it had a tendency to seize up a bit. I eventually just picked up a smaller syringe at a drug store... worked nice and smooth, albeit with lesser capacity. FYI... if you happen to run into this. I agree with @piotrek... the traxxion dynamics syringe was difficult to use. I ended up purchasing a motion pro syringe and it is much better.
  13. Just roll through Atlanta at rush hour duhs10, that allways scares peep out of me. That is true, but it's too far out of the way to make it worth it. I prefer to stick to back roads!
  14. Went for a ride looked for some abandoned houses or something but was unable to find anything "scary"...
  15. Well I'm just a simple country boy but maybe some great and powerful person like the Wizard of OZ or a perhaps a (Global Moderator duhs10) should set some rules for this game. Hahaha.. the point of my post was that there were no rules. @BBB makes some valid points. I agree with @phpaul's sentiment.
  16. The easiest way I found to get the stock exhaust off was to have the bike on the side stand and move the center stand as needed while pulling the exhaust through. May work with the bike on the center stand as well, regardless which approach you take it isn't difficult. Also, use a torque wrench to keep from over-tightening the header flange nuts.
  17. tractor for farming? or tractor trailer aka semi? I think it's open to interpretation.. I say if you can make an argument, post it.
  18. @pattonme can correct me if I'm wrong, but Matt's intermediate setup has the compression adjustment on the bottom of the fork. The axle would need to be removed to adjust. Rebound adjustment on top. I believe you can go with his "advanced" setup and get adjustment on top for compression on the left fork. Also, Forks by Matt has good prices on "name brand" cartridges too..
  19. A little spendy with the conversion rate, but very blingy. I like 'em. Take a look at the Gilles Tooling ($130) adjusters... $40 doesn't seem too bad lol
