  1. If your near Fort Myers check out Vcyclenut for your flash.
  2. Yay! Finally got to cast a vote for over 10k hahaha!
  3. The original post of this thread did 2 versions of the mod. In the first version he cut the S Pipe only. It gave him 1hp increase and a little better sound. The 2nd time he modified the exhaust he put the additional hole from 2nd to 3rd chamber and a slightly bigger outlet. He got a significant increase. 112whp and 68lb/ft of torque on the stock ecu settings. So I would say that if you are going through the trouble of opening the muffler, you should put the additional hole between the chambers.
  4. and NO its has nothing to do with TPS reports on my desk mmmkay? Yeeeahh, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Saturday... Did nobody else catch the reference
  5. @kdimitris yes. 1. Welding piece of the S Pipe is probably not necessary, but if you want to do it, then go for it. 2. yes leave a bit of the S Pipe sticking out of the 3rd chamber. There are 2 other pipes there that will you can kinda match it to. I quoted a post from earlier in this thread that shows you what the end result inside the muffler should look like.
  6. Hi there!! is there any possibility to upload pictures about what you've done with your exhaust? My english is not enough good, so i didn't understand everything to make this mod to my bike too. Thanks in advance!!! Unfortunately that forum member is no longer with us.. there are some other pictures within the thread that show the basic idea behind the mod. The basic idea is cut the top of the muffler open, cut the S pipeout, drill a hole to the other chamber, but a bigger outlet on it if you want, and weld it back together.
  7. Those look really good.. also really like that tail pack you have. Which one is that?
  8. Well y'all inspired me to finally pull mine off. Doesn't hurt as our heat index lately has stayed in the triple digits, I could use some more air anyway. Hey guys.. if you like the minimilist screen (or none) as compared to the stock, you should check out the review I did on the eBay shorty screen. https://fj-09.org/thread/5157/ebay-shorty-screen-review
  9. I was up around Suches yesterday. Ahh man.. that would have been cool to run into another FJ.. we met up at Suches, rode blood mountain, then across wolf pen gap, then up to Blue Ridge. We saw a FZ while we were out but no FJs. We were riding from about 12:30 - 3:30 or so.. did you get rained on?
  10. I agree.. I was hesitant at first, but once I did it... it's so simple.
  11. Your kit didn't come with any pins?
  12. Rode it around N Georgia with @fjmax. It was a good day despite the rain.
  13. @piotrek I like the "run" intensity of the right, but the flash pattern of the left. However, both look good... and effective.
  14. You need to get some stiffer springs too apparently...
  15. I haven't had a proper rider with these installed. So I will have to see if they work out for me.
  16. The look the same, but they are called "Street Rally" so they are designed for the FZ,FJ,XSR platform. @suncoaster if you're interested.. https://yamabits.co.uk/yamaha-mt-09-adventure-foot-pegs.html The FZ-6 foot rest are a cheaper solution, but these aren't expensive either.
  17. I finally got around to installing my new foot rests/pegs. I've had them for several months. They are Genuine Yamaha parts that I ordered from Yamabits.uk. Just another OEM part that isn't available to the US for some damn reason (just like the OEM helmet lock I ordered from Japan). First impressions are good, but they do raise your foot/leg position ever so slightly (not a problem for me). I adjusted the brake and shift pedals up just a touch to compensate.
  18. I currently ride in an Alpinestars Andes jacket.. been good to me.. not really good for the summer but I wear it anyway for the protection.
  19. Makes total sense. I was curious if upgrading the exhaust without the flash killed the low end or anything like that but it sounds like that isn't really the case. I didn't notice any of the low end go away, but I did have a flat spot in the torque curve around 5k RPM. You can see it if you search for Akra TI dyno charts. Although I could feel it, I don't think it was making less power than stock, it was just a flat spot in relation to how the bike was pulling. The flash all eliminated it. Again this is with the Akra, not the Yoshi..
  20. Notice much of a difference power wise compared to stock? Probably going to get this eventually just wondering how much of a necessity it is to do the flash right away. I had read somewhere that running an aftermarket exhaust on a bike without a flash tune can be kind of funky. I believe the Yoshimura and Akrapovic (and maybe others) are marketed as being compatible with stock ECU and will run fine with the stock ECU settings. I have the Akra and I noticed a difference right away before getting my ECU flashed and I would assume the Yoshi would be similar. I will say that the difference between the un-flashed and flashed ECU with the Akra installed is more significant than the difference between the stock exhaust and the Akra without the flash. Does that make sense? I think getting the ECU flashed has been the best return on money I've spent on this bike.
  21. Added some new decals... the rim tape was already there and the colors match but the camera flash threw it off.
