  1. I just used an adjustable crescent wrench on that.. I have no idea whether or not the proper tension is on it but it's not making any weird noises so I guess that's good.
  2. Thanks @piotrek and @skippert... u found the gasket lol.. stayed on the case so not going to mess with it. I think I will order a stock bolt as you suggested and replace it to reduce oil flow. About to button this project up assuming I can find a allen key that I can fit between the frame and tensioner to adjust it...
  3. I installed the tensioner without removing that cover... but I recall from one FZ-09 forum post that yes, there was a gasket. You sure it's not just stuck/caked on? It looks like there may have been a liquid gasket... don't know what to call it, but the kind you squirt out of a tube to seal it. Whatever it was was extemely minimal never had any leaking so if it starts leaking now.. I will go get a gasket. Takes 2 minutes to pull that cover
  4. @piotrek... one more for you. When I pulled the "CP3" cover... there was no gasket. Should there have been?
  5. @skippert or anyone with helpful advice... I'm about to install the APE manual CCT. I've already had the TSB performed and it's starting to make noise again. My question is.. the APE instructions say that if your tensioner is hydraulic that you must block off the oil feed or it could result in a low oil pressure condition. I know our tensioners aren't hydraulic but they do have an oil feed. Shold I be concerned with this when installing the APE? I had kit 1 installed that added the colar to the right rear engine cover bolt.
  6. @ghostrider1127 How do you like the steering stabilizer? I've been contemplating getting one, but I really like how the maneuverability of the FJ. Does it slow the steering noticeably?
  7. @Spartacus the OEM FZ09 bar end weights are a direct fit. You pull the threaded insert out and they thread in in their place. They aren't expensive either.
  8. Forks by Matt's (@pattonme) solution is just swapping cartridges and springs. So not that difficult if you have any mechanical skills at all. Hes a stand up guy that will work with you as much as needed until you're satisfied. You can even send the forks to him to do the work if needed... just check with him about his time table first.
  9. They did this for me 2 years ago.. I don't remember having to pay for shipping either.
  10. Well.. I broke down and ordered a McCruise for the FJ. Tried a Kaoko Throttle Lock, which worked fine, but just decided I wanted a more integrated system. If anyone is on the fence about the McCruise PM me for some info / possible discount code.
  11. Somebody bought that one from Lithuania... and I don't see your bike pictures anymore @britelitebob lol.. that's funny that they used pictures of your bike!
  12. No worries mate, now that Powerbronze has done all the design, engineering and marketing, it shouldn't be long before the cheap Chinese knock-offs start showing up on ebay. In fact there was one for sale on ebay from Lithuanian for $60US but I wasn't sure about that so I forked out the cash for a powerbronze.
  13. The beaked look has grown on me but I couldn't bring myself to pay for it as I felt it was over priced... well last night I decided to waste that money lol. Guess I will have a beaked FJ soon.
  14. I ordered mine from yamabits.co.uk... no problems getting here.
  15. Went for a ride. While on said ride, I got a wild hair and decided to go off-roading (just dirt roads) and came upon an area with some 6-8 inch channels where the rain had washed out the road a bit. Now I know the FJ is by no means an off road motorcycle and I also have very little experience off road, but I have to say, the way it felt as I stood on the pegs and navigated the channels made me believe that with some mods this thing would actually be pretty decent on some light trails. I've seen some heavily modded FJs for off road and laughed to myself while saying, "should have bought an actual adventure bike"... but now I somewhat undestand.
  16. Which KTM hand guards did you install? Im new to the fj09 and have read about the KTM hand guards, but haven't seen which ones their using. I have a set for the 990 SMT that i was goin to install on my multistrada but going to sell that bike and would like to use them on yhe fj. @bamarider1 check your messages, I have a question for you...
  17. As God is my witness, I don’t even know what a skid steer is... I know them simply as a "bobcat" when in realty a bobcat is simply a brand of skid steer...
  18. Well that's convenient that you have both
  19. @ghostrider1127 I was actually talking about the MT-09/FZ-09 fender. I found where to get it. Was there any modification needed? OEM axle and nut worked?
  20. @ghostrider1127 can you possibly post a link for that rear mud/splash guard?
  21. @clint... if they cant see the blaring white LED headlights... they aren't going to see any indicators. They are very visible from the sides. To each their own. I understand the visibility concerns, but I don't think these have much of an effect on it. Also, everyone should ride under the assumption that nobody can see you and plan escape routes and emergency maneuvers accordingly.
  22. I’ve had those on my FJ for 2 years. You can see them from the front fine. I too have had them for a couple years. I think they are less visible at night with your brights on than in the day. I can understand the everlasting concern of visibility, but to be honest, I can't think of a situation where someone facing me really needs to know if my indicator is on or of a situation where this would be a safety concern.
  23. @hallard85 I've been getting some noise lately too. Had the CCT replaced about 4 months ago. I think I might do the same thing.
  24. I think you make a good assessment. I'm sure it's lean, almost all bikes come from the factory lean for emissions. I have a '15, average about 47 (akra exhaust, and ECU flashed), but when I take it to the mountains I often see 50 ot more.
