  1. I might have to look into that helmet...
  2. Installed the FZ-09 OEM bar end weights.. perfect fit and only $28 from the dealership.
  3. I gave mine a bath... So everyone, what do you use to get the chain lube/crud off of the rear wheel?
  4. @kik thanks for the updated (and verified) parts list.. I'm considering doing this in the future.
  5. Cheap ones are a fLeaBay item. Don't know why I couldn't find them... oh well.. the more expensive ones are already on the way.
  6. Got my Conti RoadAttack 2 EVO tires installed (haven't ridden on them yet).. ordered some FZ-09 bar ends for the summer and some new chain adjusters (gilles tooling...pricey, but i couldn't find the cheap ones that people have linked before) due to the fact that I could see where the axle had started to dig into the soft OEM chain adjuster block.
  7. @Wiggin did you have to adjust your brake and gear pedals when you installed the new footpegs?
  8. I need these, which cases are they? Those look like the Yamaha city cases.
  9. Edit.. @piotrek.. I think you found the right one. The one I was looking at is for the upper shock mount.
  10. The black stuff on the muffler tip is very common. Nothing to worry about there.. The service manual says to "Place the vehicle on the centerstand" when checking engine oil. (P. 3-23)
  11. I just received a set of Conti Road Attack 2 Evo tires... trying to wait for my suspension to come in to install them, but I'm running out oftread!! 7k miles on the original Dunlops and I'm at the wear bars on the front and back.
  12. I use the Puig Touring Screen with the Puig Deflector. I'm 5'11" (Over 6'0 with my boots on). I keep it in the middle position. No buffeting, very quiet. I am able to ride with my visor open pretty much all of the time, even on the highway at 80+ MPH (although I dont recommend doing that regularly). I hope you find a solution that works for you.
  13. We need to add some color options to the voting in this thread..
  14. Most exhausts will perform better with a reflashed ECU. Even the akrapovic titanium which is advertised to work great with the stock tune runs better after flashing the ECU... So to answer the question, you probably don't "need" to flash it, but it will almost definitely run better if you do.
  15. Do they require a different charger than a regular battery tender?
  16. I would be interested... let us know if/when you print and test it.
  17. @Sheridan ... looks good. I might have to find someone to do this for me. I wondered from the beginning why SHAD decided to make the brackets so wide. Overall great system though.
  18. I figured that is where you cut it... I may do the same thing in the future. Would like to see what it looks like in the pictures when you get a chance.
  19. Hell Yeah! Well done sir. Can you add some pictures or start a thread to show how you modified the side brackets? I can imagine what you did, but would like to see it.
  20. @piotrek I will be in that position in a few weeks... ordered my suspension from @pattonme so whenever that arrives I will be out of commission for a few days. I will be sending my ECU off to Vcyclenut at the same time. Also hoping my tires last until then as well. Already ordered replacements but want to wait since I will have them off for the suspension anyway.
  21. They look like a pretty good quality product.... they better be for $385!!!
  22. 115 mph indicated is where the speed limiter stops my bike from accelerating. Considering that you can hit 115 mph in 4th gear, I would bet that the transmission will get you to the 140-150 mph range top speed. Anybody tried a top speed run without the limiter?
  23. No worries... The TSB says that they will only replace the units that exhibit the noise. However, most dealers will replace it if you mention it to them. I would ask them to replace it prior to purchasing the bike because it's basically free to the dealer.
