@Michiel900GT - I found this under the front left corner of the passenger seat. I'm not sure it does much besides cover a sharp edge as I couldn't find any marks on the underside of the seat where it made contact. 🤷‍♀️

The difference between the cost of upgrading the suspension on the FJ and buying a brand new Tracer GT is more than "a bit", its more like $11,000. You can get PREMIUM direct replacement suspension parts for $1,800-$2,000 or you can get the factory parts modified. At a minimum you will need heavier rate springs. The same would go for the new 2020 GT. Does the FJ do everything else to suit your needs? Save the money and get the suspension set up properly for your weight and riding style.

So, the big question about the auxiliary fuel tank, - did you get a chance to push the range between stops? and what was the longest you rode between fuel stops?

@keithu - Awesome report and photos - Thanks. And congratulations on completing 1,000 miles in 18 hours, I might try that some day. I have ridden a lot of multi-day road trips, several of them riding solo, the spot tracker sounds like a great idea although I did read a fair share of negative reviews on Amazon, your thoughts? With all of that time on the road you get the chance to reflect on the modifications you have done or what you might still need to do to make your ride more enjoyable. There IS a master link, there has to be, its a chain with 2 ends. It is a rivet type, NOT a clip type. I have never heard of a chain having a proprietary master link. A 525 DID x-ring chain should accept a 525 x-ring master link, that's why you can buy spares, they are interchangeable. You obviously have a chain breaking tool, do you have a chain press and riveting tool to replace the master link?

Agreed, several inconsistencies in the tracking. Some of that area is very remote, with no tracking for a full hour that could mean a lot of area to cover in a search.

I recently switched to a small flyscreen and cant believe how much I enjoy it, even at 80-85 mph on the interstate.

The progress has stopped in Burney, Ca for over an hour and a half. 🤷‍♀️ I hope there isn't a flat tire or other mechanical issues. **EDIT** It looks like it only pinged 2 other times between Burney and Willow Creek. Otherwise, making great time.

Those look really sturdy. I would email them and ask about production, they might be able to make a set for you, since the only thing different between the 22mm and 25mm set is the actual clamp.

This might help or at least get the gears turning for a creative solution.

It has been almost 4 years for me and even though it happened on one of my favorite twisty roads, I have never been back. It's kind of a superstition/ bad luck feeling for me but I have plenty of other good roads to ride.

The service manual says 33ft/lb. It has been a while since I installed mine and I don't recall the instructions calling for a different torque spec. so I don't remember if I used 25 or 33 when I installed them but I used the same torque on both sides.
