  1. Thanks I'll check into it. I'm so used to the noise I believe is called Gronk it really doesn't bother me. How much was the new basket though? I presume Daz has checked it out as he also has a 15 with a later S/A clutch. I may even have over 50k on mine, as I have about 63 now and bought my 15 new in 16 and put in the XSR clutch I think within a year. So fresh plates may make it taste even better.
  2. You have a 20 that came with the S/A clutch. I have a 15 with a 16 XSR S/A clutch. Am I correct that the latest clutch PN you used with also fit my steed (he's no dame)? Also, did you replace any plates while you were at it? My S/A clutch has at least 40k miles on it (I'll have to check my log), which could mean a midland bit of wear. Thx

  4. Good luck It's such a PITA to remove and then have to reinstall the screen support assembly. It gives you the opportunity to clean and treat everything before assembly I guess...

I miss spoke, I should have stated and prefaced with "I don't recall" you saying you had the Naked Spatial geometry should be my strong suit, so I'll look at your wonderful, that's what I was referring to, drawings. Being frugal, I'll try the adapters and go from there as there's not a lot out there specific to our bike, at least as what my searches uncovered

Danke though You didn't say if you had the stock bars or the street naked I have the latter so I bought these Not sure how they'll work with my Speigler MC line and R1 radial MC with the KTM handguards Clutch line could be an issue too But for $40 with only 1" up and 20 mm back, the least up I could find up. AS my Street Naked are already up .75 and swept back an inch (but maybe are too wide; as I made them the stock width) There is a recent review on the american amazon page of somebody recently installing them on a FJ09 Tracer It may be then that I'm gonna hafta go with something like yours. But I haven't found one yet. And I don't want to pay a fortune like you did. Ha ha ha ha.
  7. D-Man Whose brilliant risers do you run, and what amounts do they add? I started out with lower but more sweep Outlaw Racing TH08 in below photo (a great choice if J Carlson wants something down more) but my bod cried foul! I then went back to OEM, then and now with the Street Naked. However, I could use just about a 1/2" ~ 3/4" up and back; though I'm willing to try a full inch. I'm concerned though about my brake and clutch lines, if not also everything else. Did you re-route your lines?

  10. You've got me confused which is not unusual for me. But anyway, I'm confused about what doesn't work. The integrated turns signals or the brake / tail light? I've had mine for a few years now I think, and never had a problem with it. And I made my own splice kit to make the turn signals functional. I've never played with the brake light options and kept the default triple flash and then off. I can understand the parking light function which includes I presume the turn signals. Is the taillight on too? I've never checked. I've only run the emergency flashers and they function as well with my splice kit.

  12. No CC and amazingly NO IMU, at least from what I could glom from Suzuki's own website. So no corning ABS, TC and all the other things an IMU can help transform safety features! And for the same money as the latest T9+. Crazy stupid

Pick a off traffic time as it's a 2 lane rollercoaster To Julian 79 North off 8 west of Alpine Or 78 off 56 out of Escondito Mount Palomar Observatory 15 to 76 via S6 in and S7 out or visa versa Again, during off weekday hours but weekends can be wacko Then start picking your own routes based on input from other kneedraggers whom your are sure to meet on nice days Last time I was in San Diego this last March it snowed in the mountains 22 inches! But I did go out to Campo twice, from or to which there are a couple of other good routes; as there are for Julian and Mt. P

  16. I have an ancient lathe but have not touched it 20 years. I went a different route with my mirror extenders but did buy a set like yours, one of which I cut as a sleeve spacer to raise the left extender up about 12mm because I found out if a Sand Crane flies into you when you're doing 60 mph, it can deflect off your wind screen and slide over and hit your left mirror, spinning it around along with the extension so that hits the left control pod rocker switch, breaking it. I could have likely repaired the rocker plastic or found a used one but at the time the pod was only about $60, so I bought a new one keeping the old switch as a spare because it still works fine. Now the switch rocker won't get popped when I hit another Sand Crane. Hopefully the next Crane survives our encounter, because it saddened me that the last one expired on the painted centerline behind me. Sand Cranes, Great Blue Herons and their similar cousins conjure up an image in my grey matter of how a Pterodactyl may have looked in flight. After obviously laying in wait for me, it amazed me how slow and laborious the Crane was when launching from a weed-filled drainage ditch at the side of the rode. It timed it perfectly! I have been VERY lucky not to have hit a deer directly (knock on plastic), though I have run over a cat and a Racoon, and knocked aside a German Shepard (all of whom of course ran off) but birds seemingly have it in for me. They explode in a burst of feathers, and for their comparative weight, often leave an amazingly large amount of guts and a good-sized, very painful bruise behind. They like to dive bomb me too, like aerial headhunters. Turkeys time it so I'm just on them, and then cross the road right in front of me but seemingly not at all intending to make it to the other side; often 4 or 5 at a time. Their fore and aft head bob is very distracting when you're trying to avoid them. Purposeful target fixation tactics. They figure at least one of them will get me. I swear a Hummingbird wanted to make a nest in my helmet when I put it down on a picnic table beside me at a lunch break. I could go on but for your sake, have not.

In all my re-packable cans I use a Hi-Temp glass / ceramic blend and stainless steel wool directly over the perf core.   19. Thanks D-Man! I thought it was weird that the lowering links would be longer, as I had not seen the thread you linked. One thing you did not respond to was ground clearance, as "How low can we go?". Also the effect on turn-in without lowering the front. My objective is to be able to mount and dismount without using the Cowboy technique; which I've finally just about mastered; except when I'm fairly tired. Then I sometimes catch my right heel on the left pillion grab bar or nick the top case when dismounting. A more vertical stance though would make the Cowboy technique that much more precarious, and I'm always very conscious of the angle of my dangle everywhere I park as it is. Don't want to go over Starboard side, nor flip both of us down on the Portside!!! My custom Sargent saddle is up about 3/4" but also a bit wider at the front. I also have pilot pegs that are down less than 3/4" and forward under 5/8". I don't want to run the saddle in the low position either, as I need to maximize leg room for my back and hip issues. So shorter dogbones my be my only option. I was going to shorten my Razor. R the maybe 1.5 threads or so left to slow the turn-in anyway and not drop the front; which may or may not be necessary with the dogbones. I'm not sure why my turn-in is telepathically too quick. Maybe it's my extended belly and probiscus... This will be a good winter project, as I'm sending my Razor-R in for a refresh anyway. Do you think minus 15mm is enough, as I see 20 and even 30mm shorter dogbones available? Thanks once more. I have long been aware of the fickle weather at PI, and wonder why they don't schedule the MotoGP races farther into your summer like Superbike does. I know that MotoGP needs to group their regional flyaways logistically but it's still a bit of a nutter.
  20. Oh and how did you get the link nuts loose? I tried when I changed the whole assembly out with a low-mile used set and was going to clean and grease my originals for spares. Bugger tight but I didn't try using a hot air gun or micro-torch.   21. So you run the longer (counter-intuitive) 1RC OEM lowering links yourself. I presume you like them but what are your observations? What is their effective drop? They only look about 6mm longer but with the geometry that could equate to 25mm. How much more does it lean on the side stand; is it scary? And what about the tire / tarmac clearance on the centerstand? I'd guess it slows down steering which can be counteracted by raising the forks and/or maxing out the Razor R length (which defeats the original intent). How much is road ground clearance reduced (we're already too low)? Your weather should be heating up but it sure blew up the PI races! Thanks
