  1. I've had mine mounted for a few weeks now and don't notice a difference either in air flow or noise level.
  2. Installed the RAM Mount to the Madstad Screen. Well I was at it, I bought a separate base plate for the boat and a handle bar mount for the pedal bike or to use on the Tracer when not using the touring screen.
  3. I had a nice ride last weekend with the electronic cruise set at 60 mph for most of the ride. I got 55 mpg on that trip, riding 2-up.
  4. Their Fire Hose pants are also my go to for motorcycling (and everyday use). Super comfortable and wears like iron.
  5. I'm curious. To achieve this total quiet nirvana, are you looking through the windshield or just over? I also have a Madstad. At full height, I look several inches above and get just a small amount of turbulence on top of my helmet. I suppose I could go with then next larger screen but then I'd be looking through it, which I don't prefer.
  6. Another nice feature of the Yamaha rack is that you can swap back to the stock grab rails in about 15 minutes. I like to run the bike with no bags and rear passenger pegs when I'm not hosting a passenger or hauling groceries or growlers of beer, because it looks so badass.
  7. I've never driven the Tracer with no windshield, but I did spend the previous 10 years on a Vmax with no windshield. So I can only compare the two experiences. The sport screen puts the wind on your chest and creates no more buffeting if you were running no shield at all. However, because it does deflect some air, there is a bit less fatigue then running no shield at all. Finally, I'm kind of anal about a bikes looks. Not having any windshield on the Tracer, well, it just looks like the bike is missing it's windshield. If I went this route, I would have to DIY a plate to cover the space where the stock adjustable base normally screws into the fairing.
  8. I live just outside of Duluth. My wife and I were just on US-2 today on the bike to go visit friends at their cabin. I'd buy you a burger on your way out of town but will be camping next week. Sounds like a great combo platter of work and fun. Enjoy!
  9. The bike looks great! The first thing I do to any bike is get rid of the abomination that is the sub finder. I suggest replacing with a Motodynamic sub-fender eliminator and integrated tail-light.
  10. I live in Hermantown, just outside of Duluth. If you're ever back this way on the bike, look me up and we'll go for a ride.
  11. With five feet of snow on the ground, there ain't no way in hell I'm riding a motorcycle. Winter is why God created snowmobiles.
  12. Hi all, I currently have a Madstad screen and want to use a RAM Mount so I can use my phone GPS on the bike. I believe the Madstad mounting bracket is designed to facilitate the Ram Mount. Do I just get the standard ball base or is there a special base that I'm supposed to get?
  13. I have the Puig sport screen and Madstad touring screen. It's a one beer job to switch them around. If I had to pick one it would be the Madstad with all its adjustability. However the bike looks way better with the short screen .
  14. Sitting on the bike, my right hand side knob adjuster continually comes loose. I don't want to Locktite it down because I do move the shield. It's maddening...
  15. I really like those crash bars. I too am reluctant to put big crash bars on my sport-tourer. In your opinion, do the crash bobbins come our far enough to protect the plastic and other bits.
  16. With heavy heart, I said good-bye to a good friend this past week. I've owned this bike since new with zero miles on the odometer. The cool thing was that I sold it to a young guy in his early 20's, about the same age I was when I bought it. He was so jazzed to get the bike and stated a number of times that it was going to a good home and would be taken care of. I actually turned down a couple of other offers for the same price as I didn't like the vibe. I get attached to my bikes. 1995 Suzuki DR250se
  17. Nice call ! Five day, back roads, round trip to Chi-Town next week 🏍️ 🙂
  18. Added a 24" Medium Gray Madstad shield for my comfort and a Yamaha factory rack and 39L Top Case for the passenger comfort (and additional storage).
  19. I like a big grip whether it be motorcycling, tennis or what have you. Grip puppies were the first thing I did to my GT. The added cushion and vibration damping is a bonus.
  20. @stevesweetz did a great write up on the Super Tenere blinker install, including links where to get the blinkers and flasher relay. You do have to cut the Super Tenere connector. I also cut the connector from the old pumpkins and soldered that to the Super Tenere wiring, so now it's plug and play if I ever have to take them off. The adventure pegs are way more comfortable all the way around.
  21. Cool. Never heard of that TTR model before. I have a 1995 Suzuki DR that I've owed since new.
  22. I'm curious as to the bike in the forefront. Up right forks with well soiled blue fork spongy protector thingies (indicating an older bike) but seemingly with a newer fender and interestinging headlight and surround. I'm stumped. Converted supermotard?
  23. Well I finally got around to calling Terry about getting my seat re-worked. He is out to August with new builds. So it looks like I'll have to suffer through another year on the stock seat and then get into the mix right away this fall.
  24. You may also want to consider the Motodynamic (MD) integrated tail-light and fender eliminator. The light is really bright and there is good separation between the blinkers and the brake light. You can select how you want your brake light and blinkers to flash/function. By combo-plattering the order you get free shipping and a license plate frame. The install is pretty straightforward, but you do get instructions with the items. I would recommend the TST Flasher Relay. It's only $20, simple to install, and has adjustable flash rates. In conjunction with my MD items, I also installed the Super Tenere front led blinkers. There is an walk through for this install here on the FJ/Tracer forum. Perhaps it was the combination of the two sets of led's, front and back, but the flash rate with the stock relay was off the hook fast.
  25. I scoured the internet to get my 2019 Tracer GT a few years back. I had to be able to pull the trigger right away as no dealer had more than one ordered and/or available. I was lucky to get at one at Cambridge Motorcycles for less than MSRP OTD.
