  1. Love Grip Puppies. I love a bigger grip, whether it be a mechanical pencil, tennis racket, or motorcycle grip.
  2. I've owned my Suzuki DR250 since '95 and sold my Yamaha Vmax that I've owned since '00. I like to look at and ride different bikes but seldom do something different when I find a bike I enjoy. I like my Tracer GT and so at age 52, it will probably be the last bike I own.
  3. Thanks for the reply. I ended up just going for it and yes you are correct, one can swap out screens in less than 30 minutes. I have a Puig sport screen that I use mostly in the summer months, but switch back to Madstad for the longer rides.
  4. Thanks for the reply and concern. It was a slow speed drop so both my passenger and I bailed without harm. Making a tight u-turn, on a hill, with a passenger. The biked started going over and with the extra weight and top heaviness of the passenger I couldn't stop the momentum. It was all rather slow motion with a no no no No No No NO NO NO ... drop I picked up a can of flat black Plastidip at the hardware store but have yet to apply it.
  5. What paint did you use for the engine case? I dropped my bike a few weeks ago making a slow speed U-turn and ended up with identical damage to the case.
  6. Coming off a Yamaha Vmax which only had A+ mode, I find it nice to have options and use them all depending on the circumstances and how I'm feeling that particular day.
  7. You put your bike through a windtunnel to know all that? I'm sure @Warchild was being facetious in their response. The honking case looks like ass on the bike. Please spare your engineering and form over function lecture. It's ok for someone to have a different opinion than you.
  8. I like that top case. The lines, size, and color go great with the bike. The cargo rack on top is a nice feature. Does it have an available back rest? I have the Yamaha 39L case. That 40ish liter is just the right size for this sport tourer. Not too big but still large enough to store your helmet or myriad of other items.
  9. I had my first ride with the Shoei Transitions shield this past weekend. Color me impressed (pun intended)! I really like how it tints but doesn't discolor your vision. Things stay clear and sharp while eliminating the glare and eye strain from the sun. Very similar experience to polarized sunglasses which I also prefer.
  10. What a bummer to get your new bike like this. My wife tried to move my Vmax once and I came home to this. What a sick feeling.
  11. When checking the air pressure on the new bike, be sure to give the front tyre on your Husqvarna lawn tractor a pump or two as well.
  12. Where abouts in MN are you? I live outside of Duluth and was out snowmobiling today on a vintage run ❄️
  13. I'm a good month yet from motorbiking season here (the snowmobiling has been great). I'll be sure to report back when I can get out and try it.
  14. Sorry for the language. Maybe condescending would of been a better word to use. Cheers
  15. I don't have to ride the bike to know that a 170hp V4 motor would be a lot of fun.
  16. The V4 mill is heavy but is also the most amazing motor ever. It never stops putting a shit eating grin on your face. I'd own this bike with that motor within a second if I could justify the price. The bike would never see a day of offroad .
  17. I don't particularly enjoy riding in the rain. If there is a strong chance of rain, I'll take the car (commute) or find some other activity to participate in that day. Of course there are exceptions if there is a planned trip or some such. I do enjoy a bike that 'looks' cool to me and the cancerous fender extension that hangs off the back of every new bike is the first to go. My bike is generally spotless. That is part of the experience that brings me joy. I don't see why one has to be dismissive over the matter.
  18. I went with black as you are not looking through it, and most importantly it looks better
  19. This is probably sacrilege here but I probably enjoy snowmobiling more than motorcycling, so I look forward to the snow. The sub-zero temps we've had for the last week I can do without though.
  20. Since it sounds like the skid plates work with both the FJ and Tracers, would it be safe to say that the Ermax Belly Pan advertised for the 2015-2017 FJ would also work on a 2019 Tracer?
  21. I wished you lived closer. By the time I grabbed the beers and got the steaks going, you'd have it torn down the air box 🔧
  22. This is the first motor I've ever owned that I haven't fogged during the off season. I started dismantling the bike to get to the airbox and gave up after about an half hour. Holy buckets, what an ordeal! We'll cross that bridge at the 20K mark or whenevery the manual calls for a air filter replacement. I do use Stabil though, along with non-oxy gas (always). In the fall and spring I always use Techron Fuel System cleaner. I swear by this stuff.
  23. I received a Shoei RF-SR for Christmas. I then spent part of my latest Federal COVID stimulus check on the transition shield. I've never spent more than a $100 and change on a helmet before, so this is all new ground for me. It will be a few more months before I can try it out, but initial impressions are favorable
  24. I have a Tourmaster Transition jacket. Mine is an older model and has 8 vents for and aft. I see the Transition 5 jacket now boosts 11 vents. For a cheaper jacket it has lots of pockets, plenty of adjustability to dial in the fit, and has held up really well. Supposedly you can ride in the rain with the vents open and not get wet, however I have never tried it. I can ride up to around 80F or so comfortably, maybe even a smidge higher, as long as your moving. If you get stuck in traffic on a 80F day, your going to bake. Comes with a full liner and is considered a three season jacket.
  25. I got my notice as well. I threw the letter behind the windshield along with my 2021 motorcycle tabs and boat registration. Why do they issue registrations in Northern climates in February? I'll deal with it May.
