  1. The 2020 Tracer was there as well of course. The actual color of this bike was closer to burnt orange then the more red in this picture. I think I prefer the black/sliver/blurple of my 2019 GT.
  2. A friend and I made the three hour road trip to the International Motorcycle Show in Minneapolis MN. Primarily to check out the bikes. So many bikes to drool over. I also needed new summer gloves and it's a good opportunity to be able to try on a wide variety of gear. I ended up with a pair of Alpinestar gloves and a mesh jacket. But the real big find was the free All State Insurance signs you could make. Now I'll have designated parking in the garage 😁
  3. I enjoy snowmobiling as much as I do motorcycling. We have about three feet of snow on the ground and snowmobiling has been awesome this. My only compliant is those in-between months when you can't ride either type of machine.
  4. I'm not a big mileage guy and rarely put on more than 3,000mi in a year. I change my oil annually in the fall before I put the bike away for the winter. I wouldn't ever go more than a year without changing the oil though. I've never had a problem with this oil change frequency. My previous, previous bike was a Honda Magna with 87,000 miles on odometer.
  5. The ebay add says they are not compatible with the 2019 GT model. I wonder if there really is a difference? I believe the swing arm was extended 2 inches so maybe there is.
  6. I'd second the MT-09 Adventure Pegs. One of the better upgrades to the bike. Here's a pic on my bike.
  7. So how does one order a Bagster seat stateside?
  8. Is that on the low position? If so, any chance you could take a picture or two in the high position??
  9. Two things I'd like to see on my GT are: Electronically adjustable suspension Linked ABS braking when using the front brake only Those things don't get added for free though. Boy I would really like that linked ABS braking though.
  10. I just went all in and got the GT. Sure you can save money up front and add back some of the missing bits like a better suspension, cruise control, quick shifter, bags and so forth. I like getting all that stuff in stock form and some things like electronic cruise control and a color dash probably can never be added back.
  11. HI all. A quick question on the Madstad screens. I typically use a short / sport screen for everyday use but like a larger touring screen for longer rides. How long would you say it would take to either install or remove a Madstad screen including the special mounting hardware? Is it a half beer project, two beers, or what? An hour or more is probably too much hassle for me. Thanks in advance. Dan.
  12. I went with the Super Tenere pegs (and blinkers) and couldn't be happier. I'll probably add a cheaper option for the passenger pegs which don't get used as often.
  13. I also bought the cheap $9.99 Chinese plate of of ebay. As said above, loctite the screws. Other than that it works the same as any other side stand enlarger. Typically, I try not to buy the Chinese stuff but comparing prices it's really hard to justify outrageous prices other vendors are asking. Not the best pic., but here is the black plate on my bike.
  14. I've been using the Puig Racing windscreen this summer and it's been a huge improvement over the stock shield. Nice clean air and great looks (IMO) to boot. Things are starting to cool off a bit now so I guess the search for a touring screen is next...
  15. Tracer GT. I've set the sag and am still playing with the rebound, that said, I've had my Tracer GT up to the governed limit of 120mph many times with zero stability problems.
  16. It's been a cool and rainy spring here so my first daily commute didn't start until last week. On my first commute, I made it two miles before I almost gotten taken out. I was passing vehicles in the left lane, when a SUV merged, without blinkers, into my lane. I had full brakes and was on that 1 foot section of cement you see with cement curbs. Holy buckets, I almost went down. All two miles into the first commute of the year. The car never slowed down, never attempted to return back to the right lane, never offered any kind of apology. I quickly caught back up to the person and at the next stop light gave the douchebag a ear full.
  17. On my Vmax, the oil sensor was located in the front of the pan. Whenever you would really get on it, the oil light would come. It was referred to as the performance indicator light.
  18. I got a ticket doing 110 in a 55 a few years back. The cop said "I know you were going a hell of lot faster then that but I got you at 110". Besides being a really expensive speeding ticket, it didn't seem to affect my insurance or anything. He did say i was kicked out of Wisconsin for two weeks. I don't think he can actually do that. I had a softball game the next day so I commuted on my Suzuki DR250 to keep under the radar. This bridge linking MN to WI is like my personal autobahn.
  19. This is the worst time of year. The in-between season. Too cold to ride bikes and not enough snow to snowmobile. I did manage to drink beer and ice fish this past weekend, so not all is lost.
  20. Two niggles: 1) Forward slanted seat. 2) Crappy windshield, lots of wind noise and buffeting. 3) Well ok three niggles. Somewhat underwhelming brakes. Now I spent the last 25 years driving a '78 Honda CB1000, '85 Honda V65, and a '00 Yamaha Vmax. Compared to these bikes the GT is so much better (other then the annoying seat) that I really don't have any complaints. The seat and windshield can be upgraded.
  21. Looking forward to some more information and reviews on this seat. A rear rack, case and pad will set me back $500, and that doesn't address the seat. That will go a long ways towards a Corbin with a passenger back rest. I could still get a rack and just use an existing touring bag that I have.
  22. I live near Duluth MN, northern part of the state. There has been snow in the air for the last week, but nothing sticking yet. The Suzuki DR250 got winterized and put away yesterday. I'll continue to commute on the Tracer GT as long as the morning commute is in the 30's. This is my first bike with heated grips which is really nice for those chilly mornings. I enjoy the change of seasons and winter brings snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing and so forth.
  23. The cut down stocker looks great! I plan on doing the same thing next spring and use that for around town and a touring screen for longer rides.
  24. I used the Motodynamic tidy tail and integrated tail light. I also used a TST relay so I could eliminate the bulky and hot resistors that come with the tail light. Motordynamic will include at no charge the wiring harness needed to eliminate the resistors.
