  1. Will do, cheers. Mibbe be a day or 2 till I can get the cover off now though.
  2. I'd love to if there was one there, but the only thing under the seat is the wee screwdriver and handle that clip onto the seat itself I had a massive big double garage, 4 bikes and a car in it, all my tools hanging on the walls, big workbench, everything. Man, I spent so much time in there. I used to buy tired bikes off ebay, do them up, and sell them on. And all 3 fasteners are present. It's the bottom of it that is flapping in the breeze, I couldnt see any sort of fastener there at all. I know that on the left side one there is a slot and groove thing, maybe there is similar on the rhs and it has broken or something wierdy. But it'll have to wait, storm about to start.
  3. Local (Dumfries) IAM have a regular sunday ride out, so I mibbe take a wee wander down this weekend, after the bike has had it's big service and is all lovely and super duper. IAM trackday sounds perfect.
  4. Been looking at sheds this evening online, 12ft long * 8ft, what you guys reckon to that size for sticking the bike in, and being able to fiddle around with it? (double doors of course)
  5. I couldnt see anything missing, or any reason for it, but I've never had the rhs panel off so I dunno. It's booked in for it's 24000 mile service on Friday, and there are storms from now till then forecast, so I might just tell the guy to make sure it is tightened on again properly, I so wish I had a garage again. I'd sriously rather have a garage than a house. I've slept in garages plenty of times, it's no biggie. It's always good with new tyres and chain, except for the first wee few miles scrubbing the tyres in.
  6. Finally got around to fixing that indicator that was hanging off , then went for a great ride, with the gopro on the helmet, to show off the scenery and twisty roads here, and to show the effect of the booster plug. Forgot to plug the stupid mic in properly though, so it is just click click clickety click. Oh well. Then , riding home, I heard this terrible clanking noise, very very reminiscent of a camchain being in a bad way. Stopped, revved the bike a bit, couldnt hear it, so with only 3 miles to go, rode home, panicking and wanting to cry. Turns out the bottom of the right hand front panel is/was loose, and was clattering against the crashbar. Phew. What a strange day. But hey, the indicator is fitted properly again, hurrah!
  7. Supposed to be a great motorcycle, hope your face gets sore from so much grinning while riding it.
  8. Aye, I understand why they have those sort of regs, but it puts it out of my price bracket. Never owned a set of leathers, and would only wear them for something like that, so very expensive luxury. And you'd almost certainly need a trailer, the bike might not be rideable to get home with. I'd love to get on a track with my bike, but I know I am not very quick, and I don't want to feel rushed, or like a rolling roadblock. I'd just like the opportunity to go as fast as I felt comfortable, safe in the knowledge that there was no oncoming traffic or massive potholes around the next bend. With the advent of 24hr shopping and such it is even hard to find a parking lot to practice slow speed turns etc. nowadays.
  9. Just plain ordinary normal pounds, I think. It's a long story, but I am super thin. I know you are just jealous because it means my bike will always be quicker, unless I have to carry a lead weight penalty as an equaliser
  10. Heat resistant window tint film would do the job maybe , if applied to the lower part of the screen...
  11. You can see it if you click the text below the blank box.
  12. What a lovely bike, enjoy every mile on it.
  13. Aye, some proper custom work on the bike to suit the rider. Very impressed.
  14. A brand new Goldwing as well . The guy was checking my bike out for a while, and glancing over like he wanted a chat, but I was in the middle of a talk with some old guy on about his old bsa's and ajs's and such like. I love that about bikes, awesomely sociable, and it always makes me a bit sad when somebody comes over and says 'I used to have a bike'.
  15. And somebody had the nerve to park their smelly old goldwing next to my bike. How very dare they!!!! Oh, and the Americano was delicious...
  16. I haven't camped at Glen Nevis for a loooooong time, I used to just wild camp by the burn, in the woods. I also camped just by the bridge at Inverary Castle one time, had to get up early so the gamekeepers wouldny find me Happy days!
  17. Had to come back for another wee look. After my big service on friday coming, I reckon I'll jump on the motorway up to Glasgow, then head over the Erskine Bridge and see where I end up.
  18. Hurrah! Now the spending really starts. Enjoy every mile, and I look forward to lots of stories and photos of your adventures with the new bike.
  19. I meant to include Canada, and actually, everywhere. My bad
  20. Dive over any time, you can borrow my bike for 2 weeks if you insure it.
  21. In the UK we have the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IaM) , which includes motorcyclists. It's a brilliant course, one on one riding with an instructor, who tailors the course to suit you. Test (for me anyway) was done by a police motorcyclist, following me on his police bike, which had me a bit freaked out, as I thought at the end he might confiscate my license Someone should look at setting up similar in the USA, it is superb. I believe @BBB is an instructor with them.
  22. Awesome. So many brilliant roads , and you got some brilliant weather as well. I was thinking about your trip a few times, especially when the rest and be thankful was closed (as it often is) Glen Nevis is a great place to camp. Man, I need to just take a few days and head north. Thanks, been waiting for the report on this one
  23. Just been watching some of his videos, common sense clear information and no ego. We are always learning on bikes. I'm working on my emergency stops again at the moment, so that my lowest level of skill/muscle memory/instinct is as honed as it can be.
