  1. think i bought a fake sikolene pro chain lube, talking to sikolene HQ is useless, just arrived, Bel-Ray Superclean lubricant which yet to try. also got myself 5lt of Kerosene. did try gear oil before, smells bad and my case, it flings all over just after 1 short ride.
  2. Been looking at high heat clear coating/paint for exhaust to DIY. i cant seem to find in the forum if anyone attempted either on ori or other brand exhaust. my goal is hoping after removal and a good clean up to coat/paint with clear coat. OR high heat black paint. My answer seek if using clear coat high temperature, after some usage, will the pipes turn yellow(whatever natural colour after some usage). 4,000km on the road, do i need to change the seal or can use back if i remove the 3 manifold attached to engine.
  3. i think almost 99.9% of ANY motorcycle, owner/aftermarket factory globally when upgrade is usually to louder sound. no one spoke about reducing noise over original ! 😆
  4. Today Installed custom made bar weight, immediately head out to highway 140-160km, huge huge difference, even accelerate, vibration has reduced, I would put it 60-70% vibration reduction. Prior heading to shop, did a run to make sure am awared how bad the vibration. If cruising 100-130, it’s a sweet spot there. Now that it has reduced, realised at 140-160, the seat vibration is most, second is foot peg(bought the rubber one yet to change). anyone managed to reduce vibration of the seat, does JEL like seat solve/reduce it? one ignorant been having 3 bikes now, tot bar end is to protect handlebar when drop, huh!
  5. i just bought a Dainese Carve Master 2 over the weekend. initially zoom in X-Tourer D-Dry as it has plenty of zip to let the air in due to our 365 climate. the switch to Carve Master was because it was waterproof build in and has 6 zips for ventilation. X-Tourer has separate waterproof lining and winter which we dont need here. was asking myself, if i travel shot distant and it rains, the burden of having to remove my jacket and wore the waterproof lining and sametime need to bring along wherever i go (i dont have any top box or pannier) , hence settled for Carve Master 2. I had the Tourmaster Koraza Jacket and its hot as hell in our weather here, need to zip up half and at one time i had the puig touring and its sure hot as volcano, gotta stand up every 15 mins to catch some wind.
  6. El Chepo here.... anyone remove and modify our ori baffle/db sound killer, assuming there is one in there. maybe cut it shorter etc. just to sound a bit that louder as no intention or should i say, no huge budget for a full/half system. my reason is for going in-between cars, rather than horn , wanna let them know am coming inbetween the cars.
  7. Thanks All, did both front and back sag to get close to 40mm. 65kg with a 2.3kg laundry soap packet and helmet (damm hot now at 38c) so not wearing gear. Front clockwise to 2 rings left. Rear got it to softest of 1 click. find it weird, front left 2 rings and rear can’t even move to half of factory settings which is 7 click. Think might have got it wrong but have remeasured 3 times for each front and rear settings. will go for ride and remeasured again, as wanna get the sag correct before start playing with rebound n compression. does a light weight or similar to my weight get the same results, bike brand new with 4,000km mileage.
  8. Got a very noob question as afraid it short circuit my ecu or something. i just bought a ctek 3.8 charger, there is a screw in connector(attached photo) that comes with it for plug and charge where needed. do i remove/install positive or negative terminal first.
  9. Hi All, need some help here as I think the more I google, the more confused. Got my front setting to these level based on my 65kg (143lbs) weight. One point of time was running approx. 160kmh(99mph) and hit undulating road, front wheel lifted up a couple of times in that split seconds and back on ground again, can feel steering wobble when the wheel were up the air. Should I adjust lower or release more the front suspension. The rebound and the other settings i set to standard as per manual. thanks in advance.
  10. Welcome to the forum.... I love to have panniers and dislike top box, so far not installing one as can’t go in between cars. I used back pack when need to carry stuff, limited to what a pannier or top box can do.
  11. Agreed! I got the Puig touring and find am better off with zero screen, at least for me is 365 days hot and humid. Tested in rain and it’s superb. Best is to try out as sadly I only read it from review here and there.
  12. best if can be a pillion and on a parking lot, remove helmet and try to identified the sound while someone riding it. if low speed on high gear, mine sometimes will hear the chain noise, like its coming loose(but its not).
  13. Plunge to Michelin Road 5 , just got back from tire shop, OMG, WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE for a 65kg guy. After 3,500km on Dunlop, WOW. To b honest a bit sceptical when reading the forum how good these and that tires and how bad the OEM tires were. I can vouch if does make a huge difference, maybe, just maybe, a heavyweight of 100kg above would not really feel the difference, for my weight, it sure feel a big change, mind you, tires yet to run in, back from tire shop, travel about 25km. Can’t wait to ride in the rain!
  14. Am 5’8” , around 130lbs, my colleague has one mt-09 (2019) , rode around office area, end up getting Tracer Gt (2020) this year. Fun bike and love twisty, get mt-09. Mix of travelling, short and long, it’s a Tracer. have not own any bike above 100hp before, hence for me personally, I love the dual mode, can have fun in twisty( see motojitsu) and no worries on long distant trip with the more upright position over mt_09 .... it’s coming year end, they might be throwing basic tracer even further down
  15. Goedemorgen Michiel900Gt, as my avatar stated, am from Malaysia, the highest spec bike for Yamaha here are MT-09 and Tracer GT. not much options to go where for Harley, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, they carry the full range.
  16. Congrats on your new ride..... With limited model of bikes to choose in our countries, among the japs/european bike, these seem to be the cheapest and the best part is, it comes with all the bell and whistle (heated grip, cruise control, above 100hp) as next in line cheapest is F850 which need to fork out another USD2700 and not to mention service/parts cost higher and one think i cant grasp is made in china engine and paid more over a jap engine.
  17. Thanks betoney, I know where to read car tires but even having went to the site, still leave me puzzle, my after DOT is EUA5 which does not ring a bell but after EUA5 is per pic 9ARM1020 where I would translate to week10, 2020. got another more car like number 6301 which doubt it as no such thing as week 63!
  18. Trying to sell my Dunlop D222 tires online, not sure which are the manufacturer week/year. Can help advice which pic refer to manufacture year.
  19. On the topic of mirror, ever since I got my new tracer gt, notice the right mirror vibrate more than left, 100-170kmh, I have not so good vibrate vision on right over left, when i touch the mirror stem, can feel it vibrates more than left, is that normal as intend to bring it in to rectified if possible on next oil change.
  20. Congrats on your new ride... we can't trust any of dealer/mechanic and worse, tire pressure is something i believe no new owner really check , but at least u take a slow ride. when i got mine brand new (it was deliver to my house), i check the tire pressure, engine oil, coolant and also i trickle charge my battery, in case been lying too long is the showroom.
  21. was drawn in by the fact from web and puig web, took the plunge on a puig touring, btw am 5' 8", no wind on body BUT what disappointed me it still hits just above my eye level (wearing shoei j cruise 2) and at speed of 120-150kmh, i just dont like it as there is wind buffeting, now if i shrink my neck a bit, WOW....whisper quite... than did a test, with puig , ori and no windshield (based on all year weather of 90-101F, 90% humidity, am sweating inside my jacket with no wind), personally i prefer without windshield. maybe my brains are register to accept wind when riding but not these surprise wind buffeting with windshield once a while hit you every few seconds which to me is irritating. Perhaps in winter country, than my preference would be to have as tall windshield/huge fairing as possible.
  22. Stew, could it be due to new tires need running in..... anyway, counting down 13 days more to getting my tires change.
  23. ah...darn. was trying to stay away from Neotec 2 due to the pricing and looking at average or should i say 50% cheaper than neotec 2, each time i view a site/youtube, my heart goes back to Neotec 2 again. now your poison with RED looks sooooo....damm nice, complement my 2020 red GT !!!! there has been many comments full face is safer than modular, modular is safer than open face ! with our climate here average 90F, 90% humidity, no way can one wear full face, unless one travel non stop from point a to point b.
  24. might want to try have go back to the shop and have it remove the tire, rebalance and install back again, than try the rest of settings if same persist. no bike experience but on bicycle, have install the front one side not fully intact and i lock it, on downhill, my bike feel the wobble. just got a quote on Road 5 last couple days ago, than came lockdown yesterday, will wait next 2 weeks to get it changed. Following with interest how it performed as many have claim to be better than stock tires. Wanted Pirelli STR, they dont bring in, than wanted anakee adventure, front is 1 upsize, guess will go with Road 5.
  25. Been Looking at saddlebag/pannier for sometimes and it always comes back to the Yamaha Ori. something i could not find in the web. does the original saddlebag/pannier comes as plug and play or was there a Yamaha Bracket that need to be install/purchase separately. In my country, it does not come with saddlebag/pannier, and no reseller is also selling them, hence have no clue asto if a bracket is requires. Thanks.
